He checked the lights and everything else and nothing seemed to be causing a problem. Then he literally flipped the thing on the breaker box and everything came back on. Which embarrassed the fuck outta me lol. I have no idea why it didn't work when I did it. Literally the same switch with the same motion and level of movement applied. I tried testing all my electronics to see if they got a dead circuit or w.e. and the power wasn't tripped again. If the breaker is tripped then the power to the damaged area should be off. So you should be safe. I'd go try to turn that breaker off again and if you can't then just leave everything alone until the electrician gets there tomorrow. If you can't switch it to the off position and then back on, then something is actively tripping it. If nothing is plugged in one of the dead outlets then you need to call an electrician.I made sure to unplug everything as soon as this all started. So something is still tripping it then? The thing is we don't quite know where the other box might be because we're a house of technically incompetent artsy types. We've flipped off what we don't need on the suggestion that Questionmarktarius raised. We did get to one switch in the box that wouldn't flip one way or the other. Just kinda hangs out in the middle. Not on or off. If you tried to push it either way it wouldn't stay. He's talking about those arc-fault breakers (I detest those things, but they're a necessity to prevent a potential fire). They're basically fancier breakers where if it trips you'll notice a colored prompt on the breaker where the little lever is set on its neutral position. You may think it's on, but it's actually off. You'll have to manually switch it off and then flip back it to its on position if that's what it was.
