| HanOfTheNekos 10/31/20 10:09:02 PM #1 | Wasn't particularly keen on Season 7 at start. Season 6 was a letdown in a lot of ways, and Season 5 had successfully secured itself as the best season. But man, those final 4 episodes... people had been telling me to get ready, and really they were just masterful. 7x11 in particular had some amazing tension leading up to Order 66. The way these episodes were laid out... oh, it's giving me shivers still. Talk about the season if you want! | HanOfTheNekos 10/31/20 12:45:59 PM #36 | Most things I'm thinking have been said already. FFX was amazing to have develop before me, but I'm not sure it would have the same effect today. It'd have to be back when I was younger. WoW had so much power in my life, as an extension of shitty browser-based MMORPG's, that I felt really comfortable, but more importantly it was a place for me and my friends to hang out. While I enjoy occasionally re-experiencing it today (and shit it's really different now), it wouldn't be the same as hanging out with friends in middle school. Which means the real answers are probably... Ace Attorney. The characters, stories, experience, would all be mostly the same between high school and now. But being able to unwrap the mysteries again, that would be nice. The other answer I have is maybe MGS? I didn't play MGS1 until, I think, 2010 or so. So it was already outdated for me when I played it. But man, did it make just as strong as an impact. By that logic, maybe FFX would be fine too. Only because it has to happen for the plot of the OT and I suppose Lucas wanted to make sure it happened on screen so she stayed dead for good. To be fair, all that is said is that she lost the will to live, and she says herself that she can't hold on. There's subtle implication that Palpatine killed her, but it's as arguable that Anakin's betrayal was enough to have her die (and choice to die isn't a new concept in Star Wars). But yeah, script was kind of dumb there. If you're facing a ledge, this is incredibly annoying. Likewise, if you are facing a wall and attempt to move away from it, due to the way the controls are programmed, Mario will instead hump along the wall like a dog. There's a reason that the games aren't programmed like that anymore (hint: because it's bad).
