#73 James Bond 007: Nightfire (Gamecube, 2002)

Goldeneye this, Goldeneye that, yada yada yada. Nightfire was THE James Bond experience, and I will hear nothing to the contrary. I can only faintly remember the campaign, and it probably was the best too, but that's not why I love it. It has one of my favorite local split-screen multiplayers.

I also say that from a favorable position because I primarily chose Oddjob, and in addition to his size advantage, you got to use his instant-kill rimmed hat. Man was I an asshole to my friends often choosing a broken character. Aside from that though, multiplayer was highly customizable for game, weapon, and AI bot settings. I have always been a fan of live systems in a multiplayer setting, and this might have be my favorite in a traditional multiplayer game. It is such a gratifying feeling than when you screen-look and see the last opponent alive is hiding away next to a rock or lodge in Skyrail when you bust out the guided missile launcher and watch as they futilely try to outmaneuver the final nail in their coffin.

Nightfire was weird that the versions had all sorts of differences in multiplayer options. PC had the most bots and maps but wasn't optimized properly or something because it's a technical mess. PS2 had fewer customization options, including allowing just a handful of bots. Xbox and Gamecube got the best of both worlds, so I'm glad I ended up buying one of the versions that allowed me to have the fond memories that I ended up with.

#74 Advance Wars: Dual Strike (DS, 2005)

There's something about a colorful game about war where a group of nonchalant, low-key sociopaths don't take things seriously as they sacrifice countless lives and shrug if things don't work out in their favor that just makes me grin. I'm not a sociopath, but the whole situation is played off as so goofy and ridiculous that I can't help it.

The Advance Wars series is a pretty standard TBS. You have a home base, factories to build units, neutral and enemy bases that you can capture, and multiple victory scenarios. Units have their own strengths and weaknesses that are more/less effective and more/less susceptible to other types of units. Terrain differences affect combat in predictable ways, and you get the picture. Intelligent systems does a good job at map design and scenario creation to keep things interesting. As much as I like the previous two Advance Wars, they weren't in consideration for my list. Dual Strike though goes bigger and bolder and just adds a ton to the series.

Each Commanding officer has a few unique moves at their disposal once a meter you fill through normal play is full. In Dual Strike, you command multiple COs at once and can use a combination power specific to that pairing. Some of these can be downright filthy, and sure that means the game has balance issues, but I don't play AW for fair fights. The game also utilized the dual screen by having some missions fight on multiple fronts that can easily be switched at any time. They also added plenty of new ground, air, and naval units, new modes including an incredible real-time one simply called Combat, and made an already robust multiplayer experience even better.

The amount of content in the game is obscene. Not everything may be to your liking, but there's just so much there that it can be overwhelming in a good way.

#75 Outland (Xbox 360, 2011)

Housemarque is one of the more underappreciated developers out there. The Finnish company is known mostly for their arcade genre games like Nex Machina, Super Stardust, and Resogun, and I'm intrigued and hoping for the best with their upcoming battle royale game Stormdivers, but they have sprinkled in a few deviations from their normal offerings. Outland, a platformer with light metroidvania elements, is one of them and happens to be their best game.

The art style will immediately grab you with the dark background objects with a colorful scenery or sky to complement them. Objects in the forefront are more fluorescent so the unique art direction doesn't confuse the player. It never stops being gorgeous, and it really pops when you play any one of the game's riveting boss fights. These are the absolute highlight of the game. They're long but worth it. Housemarque is one of the best there is at providing the player with a thrilling experience.

The normal area-to-area stuff is your standard platforming and attacking enemies with limited combat moves, but the game borrows a light/dark system similar to Ikaruga to make the whole thing a fresh experience. You can change between being red or blue. In order to hurt enemies, you have to attack them using the opposite element, when dodging attacks or obstacles, you use the same element to avoid taking damage, but when platforming, you have to be the same element as the wall/floor/whatever or you will pass through it. They sometimes combine two or even all three at the same time, forcing you to be quick with your reflexes, though sometimes the platforming segments feature a crazy series of non-stop action that can be quite challenging (and exhilarating).

You can play the campaign or specially-designed challenge rooms with a partner, and it seems like a whole new experience. As he mentioned earlier, I played this with Nee back in 2014, and I distinctly remember a time when I completed a platforming segment, but he missed the final jump and was struggling to get up to where I was. I sacrificed my hard work to jump back down and work to ensure that he got up only for then me to struggle getting to the top. The things I do for B8ers...

For awhile, this was delisted, on PC at least, but it was relisted somewhat recently. If you are one of the unfortunate people who have yet to play it, do yourself a favor and go through this spectacular game. If you have gone through it before, do it again.

#76 God of War II (PS2, 2007)

I'm far from an expert, but I've always been fascinated by Greek and other famous mytholgies. By its sheer influence in literature, art, and other cultural works throughout history, it is probably the mythology that I am most drawn toward.

One of the more striking things you'll notice about the series is the sense of scale. The graphical fidelity might not be the cutting-edge, but it doesn't make it any less impressive and did the Greek mythology justice to give Krato's journey the feel of an actual epic. God of War II is just chock full of these self-aware moments involving the environment, creatures, or gods that show what Kratos is accomplishing should be impossible.

The gameplay elements aren't revolutionary by any means, but they do an excellent job at incorporating the Greek myth theme ensure that the game never becomes tedious. I'm really high on the combat because of the faster pace, Blades of Chaos (his signature weapon), and great implementation of dodging and blocking. They may not have invented the wheel, but they perfected it in some ways.

One thing that I don't think the series gets credited for enough, here at any rate, are the excellent boss fights, which I'm always dazzled by their ability to match high quantity with high quality. If I made a list of my let's say Top 50 boss fights, I would wager that this series would have the most representatives, with the more layered ones sticking out. I know that I have been talking about the series in general and not saying why II specifically, but aside from improving upon the original in just about every meaningful way, the game is meant to resemeble an ancient epic after all, and I feel like this was the series' turning point to where it totally gripped me and never let go. Also, the fight with the Sisters of Fate alone merits its place on this list.

(Not really, but I love it okay?).

#77 Super Mario 3D World (Wii U, 2013)

Despite being my favorite series, it's hard for me to put my love for each individual Super Mario game into words. They're just so special in everything they do. Every general field of design (game, sound, level, art, etc...) is at or near the top of the industry. It's weird that for a company like Nintendo with so many peaks and valleys in their portfolio, Super Mario games are almost always high-quality.

Super Mario 3D Land was an excellent game and also narrowly missed out on being on my list, but its followup in 3D World takes the formula from it and improves upon in across the board in all the areas that I so briefly mentioned before. If I were to single out one thing, it was how fun the cat suit powerup was. I don't know what possessed them to add it in, but did I love the capabilities that it added. One thing that I enjoyed about 3D Land was the level-based setup with the star coins to collect in each one. It's basic but worked extremely well. This emphasis on collecting while platforming makes the cat suit a perfect fit as Nintendo could get pretty clever on where to place the coins, and as someone who loves exploring in the virtual spaces that video games offer, the cat suit could actually be my favorite power-up in a Super Mario game.

When Nintendo started porting over most of their main Wii U games to the Switch, it was just a matter of time before the best Wii U game was going to be one of them, so I'm glad that those who never got a Wii U will have an ehanced version of it available for them on the Switch. I normally don't buy ports for games that I already own, but just talking about this game really wants me to go through it again.

#78 Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus (PS2, 2002)

There were a trio of series originating on the PS2 that were often compared to each other despite having little in common. Most people I know preferred the Jak or Ratchet games. You won't be seeing any of those games on my list. I'm a Sly man.

Half-stealth, half-platformer, the first game was a bit straightforward but nevertheless fantastic. While I consider Mario to be the smoothest player to control, Sly is probably just behind him. Sucker Punch before had created the excellent Rocket: Robot on Wheels, showcasing their intricate knowledge of controls and player physics, but playing as Sly was just a treat. The level of responsiveness and coordination between control scheme, game design, and level design to allow and encourage the player to string together uninterrupted flows of platformer maneuvers is an absolute joy. I'm glad they made it so engaing in combat was ill-advised in order to put the true talents of strengths of the game front and center.

There are elements to the game that are definitely a product of its time, but the pieces were in place for future games to build off of.

#79 Mario Party (N64, 1998)

This might be my most "controversial" entry yet? I was paying attention to a conversation about the series on Discord a few days ago, but I mostly stayed quiet and only said that Mario Party 5 was comfortably my third favorite in the series. Anyway, I have a long history with the series. I own 10 of the Mario Party games (1-8, Advance, DS), and I bought my sister two others (Super and Star Rush). There are very few series that I have put more hours into than Mario Party. I absolutely love the first one, and I truly don't think that it's the nostalgia talking. I am more more nostalgic with Mario Party 4 and 5 because those were the ones that my friends would like to play a lot and we all played several days a week during the summer in back-to-back years.

There are two things that are integral to the Mario Party experience: Boards and Mini-games. Everyone would agree with that. While I think many people here are down on the original in those departments, I am the opposite. In some ways, I think the collection of mini-games are the most varied and creative with highlights including Box Mountain Mayhem, Buried Treasure, Key-pa-Way, and Piranha's Pursuit. In general, there's no overabundance on button mashers like I felt there was in some future entries. The joystick rotating ones were obviously a bad idea, but there were fewer of those than I remembered. One of the neat ideas surrounding the games that they eliminated almost fully in future games was that 2 v 2 or 1 v 3 games had your coins on the line. Perhaps to appeal to a wider audience, coins were super easy to come by and keep ahold of in later games, but I liked the idea of increasing the importance of winning the mini-games. Some of these games weren't balanced enough (Bash 'n Cash) or used the rotating controls (Tug O' War), but I loved the idea and they succeeded far more than they failed.

I did a ranking topic around 2010 for all the boards in MP1-8 and DS, and four landed in my Top 15 (Bowser's Magma Mountain, DK's Jungle Adventure, Peach's Birthday Cake, and Luigi's Engine Room). While future games added more mechanics to the Mario Party experience and constructed the boards with those in mind, Mario Party didn't have that. Each board had to stand on its own merits, and because of that, I am probably impressed with the boards here than any other game. With limited options to the player, and it sounds really silly to say this about freaking Mario Party, but there was certain level of strategic planning when going around the board, especially with courses like Eternal Star, Peach's Birthday Cake, and Mario's Rainbow Castle. It made the individual sessions a bit more memorable.

While some of the games are a little hard to go back to, I can always play the first one with my sister, and I even like to play it alone from time to time. Having turns take just like three minutes because they not bloated by extra stuff is also helpful.

#80 Red Dead Redemption (Xbox 360, 2010)

Perhaps because of my dad's influence, I've always liked western-themed media. It's been criminally underused in the video game landscape though. You'd mostly see it as a themed, one-off level in a 2D platformer, but then in the mid-2000s, great games like Red Dead Revolver and Gun came out. Then a couple started coming out when the next gen started, including Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. When Red Dead Redemption came out in 2010, it immediately established itself as the best western game.

While the future of the company might be a little murky now with co-founder and creative lead Dan Houser gone, Rockstar had long ago established themselves as one of the best developers in the industry, but they went above and beyond their usual level of detail. Never had a game so barren seemed so lively, and little things like placing a finite buffalo population to reflect how close to extinction the species was have always stuck with me.

The game tells the tale of former outlaw John Marston who is forced to track down members of the gang he used to run with. Being a Rockstar game, and one led by the younger Houser, you know you are in store of a riveting story, but while they mostly dealt with biting satire, this one is more of an engrossing story full of memorable and rich characters. I won't talk about it more, but it still holds up as one of the best stories in a video game.

The game also features some robust and/or just plain fun side stuff. I know online was lauded, but I really liked the treasure hunts and playing liar dice. I actually played a lot of real-life liar dice before this (I have that awesome Pirates of the Caribbean themed set), only for this game to humble me. I played this with a friend, and he would get so mad at how much money I kept wasting on gambling.

I haven't beaten Red Dead Redemption II, and I never stated this, but I took a hardline stance of only considering games that I've beaten (if applicable) or those that I'm absolutely confident that I've played enough to evalute fairly. It likely would have ended up on my list if I fulfilled either condition, and this won't be the last time that I mention this, but for now Red Dead Redemption remains atop the western game, uh, pyramid or something.

The former 1st round pick and apparent heir to the Michael Vick appeared to be on his way to being a draft bust, and there were rumblings that the Broncos might draft a QB with either of their 1st round picks. McCarron responded by finishing 9th in the league in passer rating (82.4), 2nd in completion % (64.4), and significantly shaving his INT% (5.4 to 3.3) en route to help getting the Broncos back into the playoffs for the first time since S10.

Bills G Phil Loadholt

Signed to a multi-year deal shortly before the end to S12, he provided the Bills with 4 blocks against 3 sacks allowed then missed the entire S13 season as the Bills remained one of the worst teams in the league. In the final year of his deal, Loadholt finally delivered by giving his finest performance yet as his 58 blocks vs 6 sacks allowed were a career best ratio and helped bring the Bills offense to league average and a non-losing record.

Bengals DT Mike Daniels

The former #3 overall pick had just 11 career sacks in three seasons, which included a single one in S12 when he missed half of the year due to injury. The Bengals may not have made the playoffs, but Daniels provided the Bengals with 12 sacks and helped the defense finish 14th in the league as the Bengals enginereed a four-win improvement from last season.

Hawks OLB Koa Misi

Misi played just four games last season and it resulted in just 12 tackles and nothing else. In what was expected to be a rebuilding year as the team transitioned from Washington D.C. to Portland with severely less talent, Misi and his career highs of 113 tackles and 3 INTs (to go along with 2 sacks, 2 FFs, and 2 FRs) helped the defense finish in the Top 10 and propelled the team to an 11-5 record.

Jags CB Tracy Porter

The oldest CB by six years on the team, Porter appeared to be done as he floundered as the #2 CB last season for the league's worst pass defense. With the team drafting another corner early, Porter was moved to the slot where he became a prolific tackling machine from a non-core special teamer. His 112 tackles were only seven fewer than what he put up in the previous three seasons combined and also chipped in some INTs and FRs for good measure as the Jags pass D improved their ranking by double digits.

#385
Breakout Player of the Year

Panthers HB LeSean McCoy

A former Top 10 pick by the Colts, he was stuck behind Steven Jackson before landing another backup role for what would be a championship-winning season for the Vikings. Signed by the Panthers to be their new long-term starter, he was one of the few bright spots on that team as he rushed for more than half of his career yards (1665 vs 1458 in six seasons prior), finishing in a tie for 3rd in the league in both yards and yards per carry (4.5).

Buccaneers WR Jarvis Landry

Taken in the first round in S12, Landry had a slow start to his career as he finished with under 10.0 yards per catch his rookie season as the #2 WR, and last season he barely cleared the 800 yard mark (807) as the #1. In a bizarre season for the Bucs, Landry did all he could as he blew way past his previous highs as finished fifth in the league in receptions (84), second in yards (1263), and tied for third in yards per catch (15.0) while scoring 1/3 of the Bucs offensive TDs (8 of 24).

Ravens OT King Dunlap

Dunlap was a former 1st round pick way back during the Wiki era, and while he's been a starter for many seasons, he never showed much potential as even being in a running offense that provides more opportunities for blocks, he never had more than 47 in a season. In his age-30 season, he shattered his own personal high by recording 79 blocks, which led the team by more than 20 and good for 4th in the league, while allowing only 3 sacks as he helped a revolving door of HBs give the offense enough juice to win the AFC North.

Express DE Michael Johnson

Johnson was taken in the S8 draft that was "famous" for all of the DEs drafted in the first coming out with the same overall rating. While the two before him, Chris Long and Jason Pierre-Paul, would be considered busts, Johnson was still starting for his team but never exceeded 9 sacks in a season. Something about moving to Portland brought the best out of players, Johnson included. He was the wire-to-wire sack leader for the league as his 15 accounted for more than 1/3 of the team's total.

Falcons FS T.J. McDonald

Before this season, the former 3rd round pick by the Seahawks never started a game in his life, but in his 6th season and first with Atlanta, the 28-year-old exploded by leading the league with 8 INTs as he helped the Falcons lead the league in takeaways (40) and turnover differential (+15) as they made the playoffs for the first time under current management.

End-of-Season Season Awards

The following posts will contain all the awards that will be given out this season. While participation is optional, I would really appreciate it if you would take the 15 minutes or so out of your life to pick out your choices for each category and submit them to me via PM before the deadline.

Most of the awards are from the game itself. There are a few that are entirely of my creation. The former awards will have both a User and Madden winner while the later will solely have a User winner. The nominees for awards from the game will come from the game itself with maybe a handful of exceptions. To not completely spoil who Madden chose for each award, I will reveal who was a replacement choice when the winners are revealed. Also to prevent spoilers, I reorder the nominees by team name, first name, or last name every year (except Breakout/Comeback is my positional order and GM is always by name). This year, I chose team name.

For each category, you choose the one player/coach/person you believe to be most worthy of the award. For the Offensive Player, Defensive Player, and MVP of the Year, awards, you do not have to vote for the five players listed. If you feel another player up for another award is applicable and more worthy for one of these awards, you may select them as a write-in candidate. However, I will use my discretion to null a write-in vote if I feel it to be disingenuous.

The deadline to submit to me your award ballot will be Friday, February 5th at 4 PM ET. The award show should take place later that night on Discord while the playoffs will be simmed the following night.

Unless the Browns upset the Express, the Broncos too would have to win three straight road games to get back to the SB, so that alone makes it hard to put them higher. That's a shame too given their defense played extremely well, and this was definitely their best offensive season since Michael Vick was with them. The one ref flag though is the OL. The OL came into the season with a filthy ridiculous career line (the OTs along had like a 13:1 block:sack ratio), but they just feel apart, though injuries certainly played a role. Teams like the Ravens (their Wild Card opponent), Express and Pioneers finished in the Top 10 in sacks, so they would have to be matched up with at least two teams en route to the SB that can attack their achilles heel.

Washington never fell below .500 this season and ended it winning three of four, including games against the Pioneers and Cowboys. Injuries haven't slowed them down like I thought they could. They aren't the most balanced team, so it's hard seeing them knock off high-quality teams on the road several times, but they do get a juicy matchup against the Falcons right away.

The Ravens D went on an absurd tear to end the season, and the Ravens do have the honor of playing at home, but they don't have a high ceiling in the playoffs. QB play has been underwhelming, special teams outside of the punting unit have been disappointing, and the running game is now down to their 3rd option. When nearly every other AFC playoff defense is playing at a high level, it's hard seeing them have an advantage over anyone. That being said, their last game against the Steelers was an encouraging sign that they are capable of stringing together a balanced performance.

MMX really, really should have done in-season adjustments. It certainly cost the Falcons seeding that they definitely could have used. They are limping into the playoffs with a struggling offense, but the team is now virtually injury-free. It won't be an easy task, but as many teams have shown over the years, being able to place the best team you have forward can be quite valuable.

This is nothing against the Browns. There are a lot of excellent football teams in the postseason, and the Browns have had a lot of great individual player performances this season with some impressive wins. However, QB Dak Prescott regressed significantly in the second half, and they are already going to be without top WR DeAndre Hopkins for at least the first two rounds. I don't have much confidence that they can score enough, and the defense overachieved and doesn't really hold a candle to the other AFC playoff teams.

With that in mind, it is time for my postseason power rankings.

  1. Miami Dolphins
  2. Dallas Cowboys
  3. St. Louis Rams
  4. Portland Express
  5. Green Bay Packers
  6. Columbus Pioneers
  7. Minnesota Vikings
  8. Denver Broncos
  9. Washington
  10. Baltimore Ravens
  11. Atlanta Falcons
  12. Mexico City Browns

The Dolphins D is crushing it this season, and teams are averaging just 107 passing yards per game this season. HB Jacquizz Rodgers followed up his MVP campaign with another stellar one this season. Special teams have been solid in all phases. The issue for them is what version of QB Marcus Mariota will they get. If they get game manager extraordinaire, then the defense and Rodgers will take charge and likely blast through everyone. If Mariota falters or even worse becomes a liability, we've seen how much the offense sinks. No defense can save an offense that only scores a TD and a pair of FGs. Perhaps I am being too hard on a QB that finished with an 18:9 TD:INT ratio and 7th in the league in passer rating, but games against the Patriots and Express show how much this team can miss Sam Keller.

There is probably no single player more integrel to their team's offense than QB Vince Young is to the Cowboys. When he's not playing, the offense is beyond absymal. When he's healthy, they are as close to unstoppable as anyone. The defense in recent seasons has had its ups and downs, but this has been one of the finer seasons from that side of the ball. It's also really hard to bet against the most dominant franchise in league history, and the stars aligned for them in Week 17. That feels like a good omen for fans of the franchise.

The Rams are arguably the best team in the league this season. The trio on offense of QB Ryan Tannehill, HB Eddie Lacy, and WR Patrick Turner were as good of a threesome as anyone. Even as they endured so many long-term injuries to that OL, it didn't knock them down. The defense, which has been one of the league's best over the past several seasons, put up another elite season, which included allowing a league low 12.8 points per game. Their +1 turnover differential is the worst among playoff teams. There are two reasons why the Rams aren't above the Cowboys even with the head-to-head victory earlier in the season. One is that because they are a #3 seed, they will likely have to play two road games to make the SB. The second is that they have arguably the toughest assigned out of any home team in the Wild Card round. The reigning champion Vikings are statistically a Top 5 team in the league. They finished in the Top 10 on O and D, they have a point differential over +50, and their turnover differential even with QB Josh Portis throwing 21 INTs was tied for 7th at +5. The Vikings won five of their final six games and all those wins came by two TDs or more. If one team can handle the Vikings, it's the Rams, but there is still high upset potential.

The Express had the league's toughest schedule with an opponent winning percentage of .543. They still managed to go 11-5 and beat every team in the AFC playoffs except the Pioneers. They get the Browns who will be without their top receiver, so they probably have the best odds of winning in the first round. Then they would get a Pioneers team that is dealing with offensive issues right now, with a theoretical matchup against the Dolphins whom they spanked 37-7 ealier. An Express SB run is not at all farfetched, and with the defense falling in the Top 10 and HB DeMarco Murray ending the regular season on a high note, they just might.

The Packers come into the postseason with the worst defense among playoff teams, and QB Tyrod Taylor posted his worst passer rating (70.4) since S9. They also enter the postseason having played the league's easiest schedule among playoff teams. They also enter with three OL done for the season. Yet in addition of having the advantage of being the #2 seed, there's just something about this team that I believe in. Even if they did play a cupcake schedule, having a +109 point differential is still impressive, and this team has often pleastantly surprised me throughout the season. While I would be shocked if they win the SB, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they make it.

The Pioneers defense began the season with a pair of horrible outings against the Giants and Wildcats, but they righted the ship soon after and never really let up. They allowed fewer than 250 yards in 11 of their 16 games. Many of the potential offenses they can get matched up aren't world beaters, so it stands to reason that the defense can still play at a high level. The offense though has showed some unencouraging signs lately, which included losing three of their final five games while scoring a combined 30 points in those losses. The receivers are playing better, but QB Russell Wilson threw 5 INTs two games when he had thrown five across the first 11 games. He then got injured, and while the backup QBs have been phenomenal, neither have the talent as Russell Wilson does. The running game and OL play have been relatively disappointing as well. As we've seen in past seasons, the Pioneers offense can be prolific, and it did finish 11th overall, but several playoff teams have been able to neutralize this season to where there's some lost faith.

Honestly the Vikings should be 4th based on talent and team production this season, and I already highlighted some important stats when I talked about the Rams. The reason why I can't put them higher is that they would have to win three straight road games to make the SB, and not only is that a tall order, but the Vikings went 3-5 on the road this season.

Okay, I post this every time the playoffs roll around, but I'm here to tell you who the SB contenders are this postseason based on historical data. I don't tell people ad nauseum that the best path to success is defense and the running game for nothing. Of the previous 26 teams to make the SB, all 26 have finished in the top half of the league in running offense while 24/26 have finished in the Top 10 on defense. The two exceptions were the inaugural season Dolphins (19th) and last season's Pioneers (11th).

Without further ado, your SB representatives are likely to come from this pool:
Broncos
Cowboys
Dolphins
Express
Rams
Ravens
Vikings

In other words all of the AI teams in the playoffs. All of the user teams do not meet the criteria, but Pioneers are very close as they do have a Top 10 defense, but their running offense finished 17th.

Wild Card Round
Browns at Express
Vikings at Rams
Broncos at Ravens
Washington at Falcons

With the real Super Bowl taking place on February 7th, I am leaning right now toward doing the playoffs on Saturday the 6th and the award ceremony on Friday the 5th.

Your B8NFLL Season 14 NFC Playoff Team
  1. Dallas Cowboys
  2. Green Bay Packers
  3. St. Louis Rams
  4. Atlanta Falcons
  5. Washington
  6. Minnesota Vikings

The Cowboys have extended their absurd division title streak to eight as they hope to extend their NFC Conference Championship appearances to the same streak.

After having one of the largest drops in our history from S12 to S13, the Packers had a huge leap from last season to this as they earned their third playoff bye in hopes of making their first Super Bowl.

The Rams have made the second-most trips to the playoffs (11) but are still seeking to become the first NFC West (the only division that has yet to do so) team to make the SB.

The Falcons had a losing record in the second half of the season, but they make their first playoff appearance since S10 as a healthy team.

Washington posted their third-straight non-losing season and second-straight trip to the postseason, but they seek to record their first playoff victory since Jukkie was in charge in S6.

An odd start to the season and unfortunately disproportionate injuries almost had the defending champs miss the playoffs, but they snuck in to make the playoffs for the 7th time in the past eight seasons.

Your B8NFLL Season 14 AFC playoff teams

  1. Miami Dolphins
  2. Columbus Pioneers
  3. Portland Express
  4. Baltimore Ravens
  5. Denver Broncos
  6. Mexico City Browns

In spite of all the injuries on offense, the Dolphins managed to grab the conference's #1 seed for the second consecutive season and extend their record number of playoff appearances to 13.

Coming into S13 with a career 80-112 record, new management has led the Pioneers to a 23-9 record over the past two and the #2 seed in each.

Even after moving to a new city with a lot of roster turnover, the Express have their third straight playoff appearance and fourth overall. They have won a playoff game in every trip thus far.

This is the fourth consecutive AFC North crown and 10-6 record for the Ravens

Despite a 27-21 record and no losing records in the seasons after, this is the first playoff appearance for the Broncos since they made the Super Bowl in S10. This is also just the second time (S2) that they have entered as a wild card.

This is the first playoff appearance for the Browns since stuntman was at the helm in S7
