Dems in the house have little real power and even less will to wield what they do have. The Justice Dpt is run by what is essentially the President's bag man. State Legislatures are so completely gerrymandered in some states that the GOP controls them despite their districts only representing 40% of the population. So you can expect no meaningful pushback from them.
The police have shown that they are more than willing to allow right-wing militias handle things in ways that the cops aren't legally allowed to do. Federal police have been performing snatch and grabs without warrants on citizens against the wishes local and state governments. ICE, under the jurisdiction of DHS, is running concentration camps at which mass sterilizations are taking place. The Justice Dept is arresting protest organizers and attempting to charge them under the sedition act.
What you are witnessing is the end of this country as you know it. Unless you are prepared to become completely ungovernable via mass protests/riots and general strikes you may as well accept single party minority rule for the next 50 years. Which may be fine for you if you are white and Christian and willing to look past open persecution for the sake of maintaining your comfort. For those of us that aren't I would suggest either preparing yourself to fight or organize in whatever capacity you find best. If you somehow still believe that our built in systems, norms, or traditions will protect you, then you haven't been paying attention.
