Why, if you care about your family enough that you would want to protect them from worry, would you subject them to the loss of a loved one? Was the alternative too hard? Why would it be more difficult to talk with his family seeking help or advice to help him get through his difficulty than ending his own life? I don't have any answer or reason because guess what? That's exactly what me and my entire family have been questioning since my cousin killed himself. No one knows WHY he did it. That's why it's so damn frustrating and why you can't blame the family or people close to him.

If we had a good reason for why, people would likely not be committing suicide as often because there'd be a better way to address their issues.

I'm not sure what exactly your point is in this topic. You claimed before that it's the parent/family for failing to understand the suicide victim. Now you're asking why someone would commit suicide before getting help. All that I can conclude is that you're ignorant of the extremely individualized nature of mental illness. It affects everyone differently. Some people can handle it, some people know when to ask for help, some people hide it and pretend their lives are great, and some people succumb to extreme depression and potentially suicide.

Yeah that's a wildly ignorant comment that the dad was a terrible father because he didn't know his kid was depressed. Had a cousin who committed suicide just after he finished college. Dude was never in a bad mood at any family gathering and was on good terms with all of the cousins aunts and uncles. His parents loved him, he loved his parents, he had siblings who were all close to each other. He was a great musician and found joy out of helping his community.

Then one day he just offs himself and didn't leave a note. Nothing had happened recently to suggest that he was going through something. No one had any idea what the hell he had to have gone through for him to kill himself.

People are EXTREMELY good at hiding their emotions if they are trying to keep up an image or be strong for family/friends. So to say the dad is a shitty father or wasn't involved enough in his kid's life is really fucking shortsighted.

not even remotely close to a rogue-like but it is a very interesting game. Highly recommend if you have no idea what it is. The less you know about it the better. The Switch trailer revealed a lot but still would recommend it.

Lmao thought I was safe. Went to a family members house who had power for the night. Lost power just a couple hours ago while sleeping.

Texas is shit at preparing for any sort of extreme weather. We all knew it'd be single digit weather (which happens never in Texas) since last Wednesday and yet we are still somehow in this mess. Rolling blackouts to conserve electricity is understandable because everyone wants their power right now but it's ridiculous that millions of people have had zero power for over 12 hours now.

it's not. Human muscle is generally distinct from from the surrounding adipose tissue. Even in fat people, you don't see fat intermixed with muscle like you see in cow meat. Human meat would probably be very tough and difficult to chew unless you slow cook it like brisket.

As for the belly, maybe that could be similar. Pork belly is mostly fat with a little bit of muscle. Humans are kind of similar. Good abdominal fat pad with some underlying (and not very thick) abdominal muscle.

I also got the second dose of the vaccine, last Friday. The day of I didn't feel anything. Then felt a lot of the same symptoms as TC but just not nearly as bad the next day. Felt like I was physically sick with the flu (muscle pains, chills, fatigue, headache) but my mind was functioning normally. It was a bizarre feeling. Like my body felt like shit but mentally I was ready to go do anything other than rest in bed.

The following day (Sunday) wasn't nearly as bad. Completely normal by Monday. I took an advil every 6 hours or so, I think that significantly made a difference.

If you are fearful of the vaccine because you think you will get covid-19 from it, that is just straight up impossible. If you are worried about the short term side effects, they only last 2-3 days (in most cases, some people don't feel any side effects at all). If you are worried about long term issues, that's understandable because long term testing was obviously not possible with these vaccines. However, there is no evidence to suggest that there are any significant long term effects...like at all.

So in short, get the vaccine, take some advil and be prepared for a couple days if feeling kind of crappy.

Lost my first tooth in first grade. Pretty sure I knew my parents were the tooth fairies because I remember putting the tooth under my pillow without telling them and not getting money. Kept it there and told them the next day and found a dollar bill the following morning.

Not sure what they did with my teeth, probably tossed them out.

There is no line to be drawn. You're being overly technical and pedantic for argument's sake. You are failing to understand that the world conventionally and historically has referred to people from the United States of America as Americans.

Accept this and stop trying to "educate" people on something that no one in the world needs or wants to be educated about.

If you want to call yourself an American no one is stopping you. You'll at best get a confused reaction when you clarify that you are actually Chilean and at worst be called a dolt for thinking you are "American".

Because we are the United States of America. That's the smart ass technical answer. The real answer is that's just how the world views the United States, because it is AFAIK the only country in the world to have the word "America" in it.

So if you have a problem with why you shouldn't call yourself American as a person from a South American country, maybe take it up with the rest of the world. Nobody is saying you can't, but it's not really logical to do so when you have something more specific to identity yourself with (your country or city).

But it doesn't seem like you want your mind opened on this forum where everyone is telling you the same thing.

Lol if you think south and north american culture are similar and share a common history. The cultures within north america are so heterogeneous even within the 3 countries that make it up. There is a different culture in pretty much every state within the US and Mexico and different culture in all the Canadian provinces. No wonder people think you are trolling, you don't even have basic geographic knowledge.
