None of the questions that the first movie leaves open need to be addressed in a sequel, though. If anything, their ambiguity might make the world around Joker a little more interesting, as those same questions could persist as general rumors surrounding the character, and rumors don't need to be true to add mystique. "I heard he killed his girlfriend", "I heard he's schizo and he just dreamed up a girlfriend", you could drop throwaway lines like that to reaffirm that not only do these questions remain unanswered, but that they've come to color how Gotham views the Joker. ...granted I'm a bit biased. I was really getting invested in Phoenix's "full" Joker persona towardss the end, and would love to see a film with that Joker going around doing more traditional crime >_> --- |
