No. I'm not really behind the idea of multivitamins. Linus Pauling was brilliant, but he went crazy at the end there so I'm just not into it. If my doctor prescribed me something, it would probably be a specific vitamin or mineral supplement I'd be lacking, not the whole shabang. Why? Do you think that would help?

I see. 117/59 is definitely not alarming. How about your heart rate? 60-100? It looks like your follow up with the Cardiologist will really be the best way to diagnose the "abnormal sinus rhythm" finding at this point, taking in the history in account too.

My suggestion would be to try your best to avoid too much stress and strenuous physical activity for now. I do hope you can see the Cardiologist soon.
Like, my pulse? It's usually around 70 or so. Oh, and I checked my results. My D-dimer was a little high, but not out of range; my platelets, too. My sodium was low as well. I wonder what that means...

I'm trying. It's the weekend so I plan on resting a lot. I slept pretty much all the rest of the day when I got home from work yesterday and almost all night, too. I must have been exhausted.

AlisLandale posted...
Hope you feel better soon TC.

Something similar happened to me last year. I was having these really distressing episodes where Id get severe palpitations, and my heart rate would spike to like, 150-180. Occasionally got weird pains in my chest.

doctors found nothing wrong with me. 24hour halter monitor found nothing (even with a minor episode occurring while it was on)

sleep test found mild sleep apnea but nothing that shouldve been resulting in the problems I had

eventually it all disappeared on its own. No idea what any of it was about.

so I dont want to downplay what youre going through. And youre doing the right thing by looking into it. But Im hoping for you that its nothing serious and passes soon.
It would be interesting if it spontaneously healed or disappeared, but I think I'd find that unsatisfying. I think I'd worry that it would come back and I'd have to wait to see my Cardiologist again. But that might not happen so I'm just taking things as they come.

ShyOx posted...
I'm gonna vote anxiety as well. Do you have any trauma you've buried or have you been in a living situation unsatisfactory but just kind of let it slide? Are you not being truly fulfilled, how is work? I would look at these things first. I wouldn't worry about it until you see the cardiologist and get the green light that it isn't a health issue, but I'm fairly certain that isn't it.
Well, I lost my mother to a sudden and accidental death a few years ago, but I didn't ignore my feelings. I cried and moped and coped and now I've hit a homeostasis with it. I haven't forgotten, but it's not something I think about everyday anymore. I was also a victim of continuous assault from a cousin when I was younger and I still have nightmares about it as part of my diagnosed PTSD, but I also don't ignore it and have support from my boyfriend when I wake up in a cold sweat and terrified. Still, it's also not something I think about everyday and has no obvious triggers since I never see that cousin anymore. If I'm anxious about anything, it's work since it affects my day to day life. But even then, it's mostly self inflicted since I get treated well at work, I have a good amount of freedom, and I'm good at my job. I was number one on my team in January and in March, my co-workers complement my work, and my bosses are all nice and helpful. I just get so wrapped up in wanting to keep doing well that I put a lot of pressure on myself, I think. That could be it, maybe?

The value should show up on your "BMP" or Basic Metabolic Panel. "K" is the Potassium level.

The systole is pretty high with 177. Do you have a history of high blood pressure or heart conditions prior? Well, if they said something like "normal sinus rhythm" then I would say your heart is beating fine.
I didn't get to read the results, though they might show up in the app that my insurance uses. I'll check that out.

My apologies, I meant 117. My pain is distracting me, please forgive me. And one of my tests said abnormal sinus rhythm, but it didn't come with many details. Oh, and I had an ASD/VSD repair when I was three years old. I've had heart trouble ever since, but only mildly.

Anxiety.
I've been told that, too. But I don't feel any more or less anxious than I usually do. Unless the constant stress has finally worn me down or done damage. I'm exploring this option, but I'm looking to the physical side first.

Yes, I was hooked up to one the whole time. It didn't detect any abnormalities. 117/69. At one point I was at Diastolic 59 at rest which is really quite good.

Happened to me this year. Same thing, doctors told me I was fine. Cautiously started working out. Feels better, but palpitations still occur sometimes.
I was considering doing some light cardio in a controlled environment to see if strengthening would make a difference. I just don't want to do the wrong thing and screw myself up more. But it's definitely worth trying! Thanks!

For about a week now, my heart hasn't been functioning normally. I'm experiencing palpitations, pain, dizziness, and general distress because of it. I went to the ER, but they found nothing wrong. My blood pressure is really good, too. My doctor put me on beta blockers to help soothe the symptoms while I wait to go to my Cardiologist soon, but I'm in constant pain so it's a little hard to just wait calmly. I don't know, I guess I just wanted to post somewhere to get my feelings and thoughts out. To be honest, I'm a little scared. It could be nothing, but it could also be serious. I almost hope it's something serious so it'll get treated well, you know? I just want to go back to normal...

I think self expression is great! Treating your body like a canvas is a really dedicated form of art. That being said, I do tend to be a bit judgy when I see someone with crazy gauges or an inconsistent look. Like, my boss at work has a lot of ink, but it all looks pretty, well maintained, and doesn't distract from her overall look. She wears nice clothes, has nice hair, a pretty face, and a sweet personality so it just complements her whole image. I also try not to judge too harshly since I have (technically) five piercings on my body so I'm into body modification myself.

Simple! You wear a glove while holding it so it doesn't get you sticky, lick only one side until you get to the core, let it dry, then switch to the other side until you can excise the candy/gum core. Alternatively, you can get a Jawlipop on a stick like a sophisticate and just cover it in the plastic wrap when you're finished for the day.

I think this is a relic from the days of music videos premiering on television, like on MTV and VH1, so they had to really stand out for people to buy the single or get interested in the band, but I'm not sure if this is true.

You can also watch it for free on NBC, but with ads and only if you have an applicable cable package. Watching on Amazon is probably better for quality and no ads, though. And yes, I have seen the music video. It is very weird lol.

I completely agree. People call it "patriotism", but it's actually nationalism and it's weird and outdated. I don't really like this country, but I can't leave and it's where my life is so I gotta put up with it. Anyone who thinks their country is the best in the world, especially if they think it needs no improvement, is blinded by propaganda and is inactively making the country worse by not wanting positive change.

SableWolfAngel

Two paid 15 minute breaks that are technically optional, but highly encouraged and an unpaid 30 minute lunch. I can go whenever I want (provided I take my lunch before the 6 hour mark in my shift) and my schedule guarantees 40 hours of pay so my shift is half an hour longer than 8 hours to account for the lunch. I think it would be better for it all to be paid so I don't have to be there for half an hour more, but maybe it's more complicated than I think.

Edit: had to correct my 15 minute break information.

I love that show! When it was available on Netflix in the US, I would watch a few episodes before bed after class in order until the end. And you're right about Teardrop. It was completely unavailable in the Netflix version, but it's still on the broadcast versions which is weird if they lost the license completely. I know the opening changes from region to region, too. I have the first season on box set. It's a very sentimental item for two reasons: it belonged to my late mother AND it's signed by Hugh Laurie from this time I saw him perform with his band at Carnegie Music Hall. You have good tastes, TC!

Yes. Without hyperbole or exaggeration, when I found out I had been cheated on, it was the single worst feeling I have ever felt in my entire life. To this day, even ten years later, I can feel that little ache in my heart when I remember it.

It was like being told, directly to my face, that I was a person unworthy of love or respect, that my feelings were no better than trash. Coming from a stranger, nothing really bothers me; insults, disrespect, etc...but this came from a person I cared deeply about, someone I had been in love with for two years and would have trusted, until that point, with my life and every secret I had.

I wouldn't wish that feeling on my worst enemy. Being cheated on and betrayed by someone you loved is the kind of thing that can break a person long-term. It's the sort of thing that can make somebody an alcoholic, or make them give up on their career ambitions.

I got through it, but it was a rough experience, and it soured me away from any kind of romance or dating for around six years.
I can understand that. It's a very normal feeling. I've felt something similar, though I have my doubts that you'll attribute much value or legitimacy to it so I'm not sure if it's worth telling you. But who knows? Maybe you'll stop being so mean to me if you knew. I couldn't say.

Yeah, I would hope you did, lol.

Cheating is reprehensible. It's the same as taking a piece of paper representing a person's trust and love, then dropping it in a mud puddle, then stomping on it, then ripping it to shreds, then picking it back up, drying it off, taping it together, then setting it on fire and dumping the ashes into a port-a-potty.

It's pretty much the single trashiest thing you can do when you're in a relationship. If you're unhappy with somebody, you need to tell them so, and you need to break up with them before you get involved with somebody else. Cheating is disgusting, and it's disrespectful to both your partner and yourself.
Tell me something Gobber, have you been cheated on before?

HakubaofRommeI posted...
You don't understand why a guy or girl wouldn't want their partner to fuck someone else? I can understand being in an open relationship. I can't understand how people consider that to be normal and the standard.
Like I said, I'm just different. I don't care about that sort of thing. I can't help it. It's not as though my brain can't comprehend the sentiment behind it, it's just that I don't get why it's the standard. I'm not stupid, I just think differently. You only have this one life and nothing you do matters at all so I have a hard time caring about anything considered big or important or difficult.
