Savage Speeders are really good at the relay. That was an impressive final heat. Hey all before I post the results, let's talk about rallying a little bit. A certain character has been getting rallied from time to time. It's pretty obvious to me being the one who counts the votes and tracks the users voting. I can also tell who is doing the rallying. I'm not necessarily against rallying like I am alt voting (which is lame so don't do it), but it does leave a bit of a sour taste in my mouth when it's by users from off the board who don't stick around or continue voting in the contest. This is Board 8's Favorite Video Game Character, after all. I have counted the votes, but I ask that the people who were rallied continue to participate in the contest or at the very least that the person rallying them encourage them to do so. In the end, this is a silly message board contest meant for fun and I intend to keep it that way. I'm not going to get up in arms or anything if things continue as they have been. But I think it would be most fun if we kept the targeted outside the board interference to a minimum or at the very least brought them into the fold for the rest of the contest.

I also recommend Comedy Bang! Bang!. It's a weekly improv comedy podcast that has been running since 2009. The host, Scott Aukerman, traditionally (though not always) welcomes an actor or comedian on and interviews them. After that, guest comedians come on and play goofy fictional characters. Since it's so long running, characters occasionally repeat which can allow for fun inside jokes, though they aren't necessary at all for enjoying an episode. Just think of it as a reward of continuity after you've listened for awhile. There's so many episodes (and there is a paywall I think for older episodes, though it takes a least a year for them to fall behind it and some of the notoriously good episodes are kept in front of it if I'm not mistaken) that it's hard to recommend one. I'd say just look through the most recent episodes and find one with names you recognize on the guest list and start from there.

I'm listening to Season 2 of Dissect. It's a podcast where each season the host analyzes a music album by dedicating an episode to each track and providing context and insight via a sort of scholarly approach. It's been mostly critically acclaimed rap albums so far. The host seems like he has a degree in music theory or something. It sounds pretentious, but he, and this is meant to be a compliment, is very dry when (at least in Season 2) speaking and it makes the whole thing seem more earnest and sincere. I'll only be listening to Season 2 since it's the only album he's covered that I've actually listened to, but there is probably a lot here for people more engaged in music than I. For quick reference, here are the albums he's covered so far:

I listened to this album twice. The first time was in the background and the second was a more active listening. This is definitely an "in the background" album for me. Every song has a natural toe tapping beat, but the sound started to wear on me towards the end of the album during my second listen. Going it, I had heard what I assume were three singles in Someday, Last Nite, and Hard To Explain. Those three songs were easily the top ones with the addition of the opening track. Everything else kind of just jumbled together a bit. That said, I will again reiterate that this is an excellent album for putting on and going about your business because it's easy to be taken over by the rhythm.
