Yes, you can relinquish citizenship. The US isn't China.

As already discussed, no, as a parent you can't renounce your child's citizenship.

No, the parents can give up their childs citizenship. I have a cousin who contracted a surrogate to have a baby here and they gave up the babys citizenship.

Really?

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/legal/travel-legal-considerations/us-citizenship/Renunciation-US-Nationality-Abroad.html

Citizenship is a status that is personal to the U.S. citizen. Therefore parents may not renounce the citizenship of their minor children. Similarly, parents/legal guardians may not renounce the citizenship of individuals who lack sufficient capacity to do so. Minors seeking to renounce their U.S. citizenship must demonstrate to a consular officer that they are acting voluntarily, without undue influence from parent(s), and that they fully understand the implications/consequences attendant to the renunciation of U.S. citizenship. Children under 16 are presumed not to have the requisite maturity and knowing intent to relinquish citizenship; children under 18 are provided additional safeguards during the renunciation process, and their cases are afforded very careful consideration by post and the Department to assess their voluntariness and informed intent. Unless there are emergent circumstances, minors may wish to wait until age 18 to renounce citizenship.

I know that but what if I dont want my kid being an American citizen (I know the obvious one is dont fly to the US 2 days before your baby due).

But there are some countries that dont allow dual citizenship. But my real question is if I didnt want American citizenship for the kid for whatever reason (I wanted it British with no other citizenship, or I came from another country that doesnt allow dual citizenship etc) does American law override all of that?

Pretty sure that at least in the USA it's not up to the parents whether the child retains citizenship. Nor should it be the parents' decision.

Time span between when congress passes the proposed amendment, until the requisite 3/4 of states ratify it. Basically it's a two step process; first pass congress, then be approved by enough states.

at that point you will most likely die. it's a last ditch effort by your body to heat up.

It's not an effort to heat up. It's the body giving up on retaining heat because it can't maintain the effort any longer.

Based on CDC data the flu prevalence is about ~half to ~a third of what it was in 2011-2012. That really isn't so bizarre given the massive numbers of people working from home, wearing masks, avoiding public transportation, and distancing from others.

We shouldn't trust the CDC making official statements but we should trust your game of telephone through two people (but it's originating from the CDC so it's trustworthy)?

It must be REALLY REALLY contagious lol

... yes? Do you understand what a pandemic is?

Flu just doesn't spread as well. About half of the adult population gets the flu vaccine, which provides some extent of immunity, reducing the size of the susceptible population, decreasing the rate it spreads. At the start of the pandemic there was no vaccine for covid.

Covid has a potentially long asymptomatic phase where you're infectious. Flu typically only has a day where you're infectious prior to symptoms showing up. Then people know to isolate.

So yes, covid is going to spread much more efficiently than the flu and precautions prevent covid transmission is going to be even more effective at reducing flu transmission.

My coworker's brother has a pretty prominent position at the CDC. He said flu is being diagnosed as covid in most cases. Anyone who shows flu-like symptoms is considered covid whether testing positive or negative. I mean, its pretty fucking obvious for anyone who isn't a smooth brain anyway when fairly major cities are suddenly inexplicably reduced to hundreds or even dozens of cases of flu in the past year. I hear about people I know getting the flu every year (except this year)

Funny, because the CDC website points out that low flu prevalence is likely due to the measures taken to curb covid having profound impact on reducing flu transmission.

https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/69/wr/mm6937a6.htm

Reuters fact check on your claim states

Low flu levels during the pandemic are likely the result of coronavirus measures such as mask wearing and social distancing, not because it has been mislabeled as COVID-19.
https://www.reuters.com/article/uk-factcheck-flu-levels-idUSKBN29R2AU

Not sure why we'd pay attention to your nephew's friend's dad who works for Nintendo's cousin who works for the CDC. Now that testing is rolled out and more easily available, cases are confirmed by testing, not just glancing at someone with flulike symptoms and labeling it as covid. There are millions of covid tests being done in the US each week (1-2 million each day).

States are reporting test positivity rates, which requires discriminating whether someone tests positive for covid or not. This stat is nonsensical under your scenario of just labeling ppl as covid positive without testing being done.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. Some people just want to get their dick wet

I wouldn't judge. Maybe they need to change locations because they're abroad temporarily, have a commute far from their intended match location/radius, their home region simply doesn't have many people and they want to expand to the nearest big city, or whatever.

Starting next month you will only be able to access LastPass via web browsers OR via mobile devices, unless you pay for a subscription.

I just migrated to Bitwarden and it took only five minutes. Recommend you do the same if you currently use LastPass

(If you don't use a password manager, I also recommend you start)
