Nope. But be careful about which one - it's best to stick to the major ones. Yes, gains will be less, but the risk of just losing your money is less too. And be prepared to see major swings in both directions - up to you what you do about them. Ultimately - and this is true for any investment really, but doubly so for crypto - don't put in any money you can't afford to lose.

If you feel okay taking a little bit more risk again, and want to try and be not too late to something, Cardano or Polkadot may be well worth looking at. If you want tried-and-true, go with Bitcoin or Ethereum. It'd be wise to avoid memecoins / tokens (Dogecoin, Shiba Inu, FEG, etc) until you get a good idea of what you're doing - you can make some major money on those if you know what you're doing, but you're far more likely to lose it.

I also think it's weird when people talk about bullshit laws and do illegal drugs. But then when they want to fuck teenagers, all of a sudden the law is the most important thing and completely overrides any deeper look into why grown men want girls fresh out of high school.

More often than not, you can get away with doing illegal drugs. That's why they care about the law in one of those cases but not the other.

99% of people's preference on this subject is dictated by which side they believe would personally benefit them more. That goes for both sides - simply with the footnote that some are basing it off their future expectations rather than their current situation.

my biggest question is why people raise a stink about "the government" doing it yet seemingly ignore the fact that they're carrying around a device that constantly records their location/conversations/media consumption/web consumption and sends it to huge companies that aggregates this data for who the fuck knows.

If a government camera sees a dude smoking weed, he could end up in jail. If those corporate "surveillance devices" do, he might get advertisements for pipes next time he's on Facebook. Pretty big difference.

My main concern is how much are they gonna be used to pick up actual crimes that need to be stopped (thefts, violence, etc) vs used to pick up stuff that would've gone under the radar and not harmed anyone otherwise (cannabis, speeding, etc)...

I have more of an issue with people who think they've come up with some amazing original name just because they replaced a few E's or I's with Y's in a name that's existed for millenia. And even that's more just "an issue" in the sense of "I'll see it and think, oh, that's stupid".

If y'all wanna give your kid an original name, make up a name that sounds like it could be a real one. (But that requires actually thinking, even if it's still pretty fucking easy.)

I have had a bad experience with Seagate, Im a Western Digital fanboy now.

What puts me off WD for externals is that they directly mount the USB connector onto the drive. Whereas Seagate ones usually contain a SATA drive, with a USB to SATA bridge. A lot of the time, a "broken" Seagate can at least be taken out, and connected to a SATA adapter (or just a SATA port in a desktop PC) and the data recovered - whereas with WD, you can't do this.
