I'm still a newb to this, but from what little I've gathered, it depends on whether you want to be able to move your coins into a wallet or not. Robinhood currently doesn't let you do that, so it's essentially like buying slips of paper saying you own the coin. Robinhood claims they are working on building a coin wallet ASAP, but no one knows if/when they'll release it. In the mean time, if you use sites like Coinbase, you can move your coins out of the site and into a wallet (where they are supposedly more secure). You can then spend those coins anywhere that accepts DogeCoin. For Robinhood, you have to sell the coins to convert them into cash. If there's more to it than that, I'll let someone else explain. That's what I've gathered so far. Oh, and Robinhood was behind the controversial (illegal?) Gamestop stock fiasco. --- |
