Potentially a fourth but I think Im outside of their price range.

Company A: Lowest compensation wise but cool smaller company. Id indirectly lead a team and they would put me on track to be associate manager in a year. Fully remote. Benefits are crappy though. 401k match is low and vests over 3 years.

Company B: Slightly better compensation but base is lowest and they make it up with equity instead. Pretty good 401k match, immediate vest. Much bigger company. Standard benefits. 3 days a week in the office. I have a great relationship with the director so that would be nice to work with her again. But it would take forever to get to a manager role

Company C: Highest base salary by a lot. They also offer bonuses but they are discretionary which makes me nervous. I know people who work there who told me they are good bonuses and theyve been steady. But that can always change. Mid sized company. Fully remote. Amazing benefits (free healthcare for the family) and best 401k match. The most time off too. Will probably be a couple of years before Im at a manager level.

All 3 are offering a $15k sign on bonus

Im leaning towards C tbh even if it takes longer to get to the level I want it just hits all the right marks. Its risky with the bonus being random but the higher base makes me feel better about it. Ill take more guaranteed money over more equity potential

Eh, I was there in October 2019 and was kinda disappointed by it. It's really quite small, and there really wasn't that much variety when it comes to rides. Half of the stuff they have there are simulator rides (Simpsons, Transformers, Minions, Harry Potter) and they don't really have any spectacular rollercoasters.
Yeah I dont care for thrill rides or rollercoasters. I hated six flags the one time I went. I just wanna eat good food, and prefer lower key rides. I like the shows too.

Middle class in the US

My family is very wealthy in Egypt. They all have cooks, cleaners, drivers, several apartments, etc. We could have always lived very well out there. But there maybe a few percent can live like that while the rest live in absolute poverty. The streets are filthy, infrastructure falling apart, poor begging everywhere, very loose laws, its heartbreaking.

Puppy pads my dude. Trust me on this. The number of times our girl decides to pee/poop mid diaper change lol. So easy to clean up after

Lots of zipper onesies for nighttime, those snaps are a damn pain in the middle of the night.

Yoga ball if you dont have one. We hold her and bounce for a few minutes on it and it knocks her out like magic.

Highly highly recommend the bath tub from 4moms. Theres a thermometer and it keeps the water at a consistent warm temperature. Our baby loves bath time. It has an infant insert and can fit in dual sinks as well.

A lot of other things we got have been useless so far, bouncer, rocker, snuggle me... she hates them all. But some babies love them so it will depend on yours.

A small portable fan if youre in a warm climate. I got one off Amazon for $20. It attaches to her car seat so if its really hot out it keeps her cool.

And if youre ever desperate for sleep and can afford it - the SNOO.

Yeah our company has merged to now over 10,000 and the culture has been shifting tremendously. Our leadership is very stuffy, corporate and like robots. Theyre so disconnected from what we do. They just implement all sorts of changes without checking in with us on any of them. Our previous VPs used to be highly engaged with us and we respected them for it. While these ones act like we should be grateful for their presence when they show up at our all hands. One of them really acts like he has better things to do than attend and looks like hes on some mix of benzos and liquor as he slurs his words during his presentation.

Everyone in our org is quitting over it now and theyre replacing everyone with low quality contractors. Feels like they wanted to push everyone out to replace us with cheap labor.

Wtf? Employers should be happy to see people wanting the job enough to go out of their way and contact them at least through the phone once. Don't sound desperate and don't contact the company more than once. Just say you're interested in the position and that you think you're more than qualified for the job then thank them for their consideration. Contact them like one week after submitting a resume to them. Either they'll get interested and go straight to your resume/application out of the other thousands of resumes/applications they get or they do what people say here and ignore you just like they'd do anyways if you didn't call them. That's it.
We have other shit to do and we arent going to answer every phone call about a job. And usually the people calling arent qualified. I get messages on LinkedIn all the time and I just dont have the time to respond to every one, especially since its rarely specific to a job they applied but a lazy can you take a look at my resume and tell me if Im a fit for anything message

They practically interviewed us back to back. I ended up getting an offer and she was declined today. I feel kinda bad. Though to be fair I was interviewing first before they approached her too, my speciality is more aligned with their business needs.

She took it a bit hard at first but she has other offers so shes feeling fine now. We still friends

Look, lower skill jobs will have tons of applicants. Companies can be as picky as they want with those. Its simple supply and demand. Higher skill jobs mean lower supply and they are more flexible.

Ive worked on new grad roles that will get hundreds of applicants in a matter of days. We physically cant go through them all. And most of the resumes look similar enough. We cant interview everyone. So we decide on the filter criteria. For software engineer jobs, we decided to only look at those with school projects, internships and a GitHub account. As well as whatever particular coding language that team used. Its not because we think all the others are shit, we just need to filter them down somehow.

@Cleo_II Help us out here.
I hate the mind games and back and forth. I cover compensation in the first call and have no problem sharing the range when asked. Id rather know that its worth it to the candidate or not before moving forward and wasting anyones time. If it happens to be a big pay bump for them, I feel really happy I helped get that for them.

As for what to say, you need to do your research and know what the market is offering for the same role and level. Glassdoor, indeed, and other sites will have ranges to look at. Ask your peers. Decide on your range then ask for about $5-10k higher. That gives you wiggle room. Best case they match it, but most likely will meet in the middle and offer what you were actually hoping for. Ideally try and get 2-3 offers so you can come in with more negotiating power.

I havent been rejected after the final interview stage since I was interviewing for jobs after college. I wasnt a fan of the opportunity so Im wondering if my lack of enthusiasm showed. I got the sense they needed someone of a more junior level. The manager had a lot less experience than me and only 2 months as a manager. Not gonna lie it did put a dent in my confidence.

The offer I got was decent. But my promo is going in soon and it will probably wont be a big difference between the two. Both will have me managing a team with more potential for growth. I really like the person Id be reporting to also. She seems awesome.

Wrapped up with a company this week and have two more Im wrapping up with Monday. My friend and I are both finalists with one of the companies and its still pretty awkward. It sounds as if they will be picking one of us and Im very nervous. But Im finally nearly done with all this interviewing crap.

It literally does. Intimate apparel isn't like conventional fashion. When a woman buys a dress, it's to look good in front of a crowd. When a woman buys intimate apparel, she generally has a much smaller audience in mind. So even when the customer isn't the guy (which it often is) or the couple shopping together (which is also common at that those locations), the consideration is ultimately how things appeal to men.
Not anymore, less and less women give two craps about wearing sexy lingerie as we used to in the past. Things have changed and women prefer comfort and feel over sexy. That is why VS sales have been tanking while others are taking off. Hell my husband dislikes lingerie. Hed prefer me in a tank top and thong over some intricate lacy thing. The simpler to take off the better in his opinion.

Guys arent buying underwear, women are. And women arent buying it to appease men as much anymore. The trends are shifting to where women would prefer to be comfortable than wear some lacy thing. The highly sexualized VS models dont do much for us to entice us to buy their products.

In any case I still dislike VS because their quality has gone downhill while their prices are insane for what you get. Much rather shop at Aerie for underwear thats much more comfortable, higher quality and cheaper too.

We struggled to buy a house four years ago and the market is much worse than then due to lower inventory as less people have moved.

What do you do currently? Depending on the market, your company might not want to see you go and you could absolutely leverage the current offer for more money. Its not as easy to replace people in most industries these days.

As for the call center job, while it may be soul sucking do you think there is room for upward mobility within the company? Or maybe learn some skills you could apply to a different job in a year or twos time. Ive done some really soul sucking work but I saw it as a stepping stone to where I needed to be. It was a rough couple of years but it was worth it in the grand scheme of things

Been finding the drive hard with how much money I have to invest in school, and the years it takes to get a bachelors.
I feel like a slave.
I can totally relate. I worked so hard for my degree too. I didnt really start making money until I hit 30 and changed my career. I was stagnating before that and hated my field so much. I had to think of what my skills were and where I could apply them to make more. I took a big risk. My husband wasnt on board at all initially but I turned his opinion around when I went from $65k a year to $100k the next. Its not just about working hard but working smart. I knew engineering wasnt for me and that I was good with people, so I became a tech recruiter instead. Again it was a risk because I had no idea if I would be good and I started off totally commission based.

Just set small goals for yourself and work on achieving one at a time and you will get there. My 20s sucked but my 30s have been amazing.
