Except war always leads to jumps in technology. This is true for almost any time period. Nearly the entire modern world can be traced back directly to inventions that happened during or as a result of WWII. The same happens with population explosions after wars. Because the soldiers come home and fuck like rabbits. There's a reason they are called Boomers, because the baby boom after WWII resulted in the biggest generation the world had ever seen, only to be surpassed by their own children, Millenials. Its doubtful any event other then a global war would have resulted in such a population explosion. The world population doubled in less then 30 years after the war. It tripled within 50. Without the Baby Boomer generation it would never have grown that fast.

Anyway if time travel is even possible, we have no idea how it works. Do you create a seperate branch like the MCU that is its own reality? Is it like Back to the Future where what happens in the past now effects the future so you can erase things? Is it like The Time Machine where if you go back in the past to change an event from your present it would mean you then have no reason to go back in time and thus nothing really changes at all?

We have no idea what, if anything, would actually happen. But if you could change anything you would literally be erasing billions from existence. No Hitler and WWII means no baby boomers and their children and their children's children. The population of the world now is around ten times what it was pre WWII. Not to mention the massive technological advancements that were a direct result of the war. There would be no computers or internet to debate this on.

Then God wouldn't exist. The whole purpose of the religion with God in it is he created the universe and earth and human beings. I don't understand this ruling, I mean the judge has to know it will be overturned on appeals when it goes to a judge above him. The Supreme Court already decided on this issue, so it is essentially settled law and this judge is violating a Supreme Court decision. Regardless of how anyone feels about this baker or the court case, he has every right to refuse to make a custom cake as long as he doesn't refuse to make a generic birthday cake according to the SC. Though I'm going to guess that at this point everyone in that area knows who the baker is and that's why this individual went there to try and bring the case back to court in the hopes of having it go to the SC again and be overturned.

Mandarin and Cantonese. Though the majority speak Mandarin, it's more the main language, as I believe Cantonese is considered more formal. There is no actual Chinese language like say French spoken by the French in France.

Right now you do something unbelievably stupid and get injured or nearly die and you will be brought to the hospital and kept alive, thus able to pass on your genes and create stupid children or who will then pass on their stupidity. Tens of thousands/hundreds of thousands of years ago you do something stupid you die. Even if the group you are in tries to care for you chances are you get an infection or lose to much blood and die, therefor no longer being able to pass on your genes. Farming and civilization allowed the general human population to dumb down from less effort needed to survive as a whole.

That's because civilization allows them to thrive. In normal evolutionary processes only the strong survive. The stupid and infirm would be killed off thus only the strongest and/or smartest would pass on their genes. With civilization the survival risk of being stupid is greatly diminished, if not outright removed, and thus genes that would normally have died off are now passed on. Now multiply this by thousands/millions of individuals over the course of thousands of years.

I mean people know it isn't actually milk right? Milk is produced by a mammal. Just because you can make some liquid from plants doesn't actually make it milk. Nothing wrong with rural at all. The issue with the suburbs is expecting the amenities of the city but with the density of rural. Where the exact cut off point is depends on local property values and taxes. Streets, power lines (below ground), sewer lines, sewer treatment, fire hydrants (and water to power them), etc. all cost a lot of money to install, even more to repair and replace. Issue is installation is normally state and federally subsidized, maintenance is not. In most parts of America, 15,000 square foot lots with all of being paid by a single family home is simply unsustainable in most of America.

Those that do want a large lot with swimming pool and room to play, they should probably be on septic tank and maybe well water. Have the major arterials paved, but side streets likely gravel / dirt roads, maybe the water bound aggregates. Give them above ground power lines, and those areas can become sustainable long term.

I don't think you know what the difference is between what a suburb and a rural area is.

Not familiar with them. My take is from a combination of books, The Housing Boom and Bust, The End of the Suburbs: Where the American Dream Is Moving, and a couple from the 70s and 80s I can't remember the name of. And over the years ive visited Strong Towns' website and read their articles.
