I don't know much.

Mom's grandad was a Native American, and her grandma had family from Germany.

On dad's side all I know is that they're all dark skinned. I'd guess some kind of Southern American, or Mediterranean ancestry, but honestly I've got no idea. My grandma never said. Dad and his siblings refuse to say, so... *shrug*

I don't really care all that much though.

No, not really. He almost died(again) a while back, and it wasn't really that big of a deal to me. I mean, we get along now, and I care about him, but if he died I honestly don't think it's bother me all that much. I'm sure I'll feel something, but based on how I felt both times his aneurism ruptured, it won't be like it should be.

Ok, so far it's looking like this week won't be too bad. I'm still stuck running both hotels, but checking this weekend's reservations it's looking normal rather than sold out.

I would put in for my vacation next week, but I just realized it's the 4th of July. I wouldn't get it approved on a holiday. Maybe the week after, if things are still going ok and I'm still here.

@wolfy42 has helped me a ton already. Gonna be looking into what he suggested during this time as well. That way maybe I can be at least partially rested up and ready to move on when I find another job.

I always wanted to grow my hair out long. But the longer it gets, it gets really big curls. So at a certain length, when the curls are about halfway grown my hair just sticks out in every direction and looks dumb. If I wait it out, it gets better, but then more curls try to grow and it happens again and basically just looks stupid again.

So now, I just let it grow till it looks dumb and cut it back again. Really wish I didn't have to bother and could just grow it out, but these curls are very pronounced and untamable. Brush them down, they pop right back out.

I am, but I'm sure there are still some available. Guess I'll be looking into that too. Ugh, I just want out, but I guess I should put in my notice, and hopefully get my vacation used up too. I really don't want to stick around that long, especially with how it looks for next weekend.

Not promising anything though, if things go south or go badly next weekend I'm might still just walk away. But for now, guess I'll try to tough it out till I find something better.

I'm making just a bit above minimum wage. That was raised to $9.00 a little bit ago in VA. I'm making $10. The Walmart in town is hiring starting at $11 I believe, but it's for stocking jobs and I do have some painful issues with previous injuries that make jobs like that less than ideal.

Plus, without my manager to run the other hotel, I'm gonna be stuck running both sold out hotels on Friday and Saturday. One is bad enough, but now I'll be expected to get about 200 rooms checked in on a single shift. Not to mention the errands like bringing people towels and extra pillows, and answering the phones while I'll have a huge line of impatient people in front of me.

It's too much.

I had considered that, but they both live an hour away on the opposite side of the town I work in, and I live 15. I don't think I can swing a 2.5 hour round trip just getting to work and back if they find jobs close to their home. Plus it may even be a job further on the opposite side, so it's looking unlikely at this point.

When you're looking, make sure you use your old boss as a reference instead of your current ones. By the sound of what you said in other topics, she was a pretty good boss and really valued you, so she'll make a good reference.

Definitely. She already said to put her as a reference and she'd help me out. My other manager would too if I asked. They were the best bosses I've ever had, and it sucks that they're gone now. They both treated me as a person, and seemed to care about our well being as employees over just dictating what needed to be done to get $$$. I guess that's probably part of the reason they fired her, since she wasn't exploiting employees and guests for as much profit as she could.

The current boss has seen how busy our weekends are, and has nearly tripled our rates because he knows people will be desperate enough to pay them. No one is happy about it except him, the guests feel ripped off, we get cussed out and argued with, but he's lining the company's pockets so that's all that matters I guess.

I really want to take a bit of time between jobs to recover. Don't want to leave this one out of stress and tiredness and go straight into the stress of a new job.

Also, apparently I'm the only one who knows my other boss quit. I'm sure some are suspecting it as she didn't show up yesterday(citing the stress and untrustworthiness/dehumanizing nature the place has developed). But they still have her on the schedule, and without her it doubles my work each day, which will make things impossibly difficult this weekend.

They did hire some new help, but they're not ready to pull shifts on their own.

I've been dealing with some medical stuff on my own which is part of why I'm so tired I think. Plus gotta help dad with his doctor appointments and getting his prescriptions. Feels like I'm mostly carrying this place on my own, plus I have to pick up everyone else's slack.

I simply don't know how much more I can take. I know I need to keep working, but it feels like it's killing me to do so. The thing is, with the new hires, things might balance out a bit in a few weeks and I have vacation time I want to use but I'm just not sure I can make it through another week, especially without my good manager. This just sucks.

Both of my good bosses are gone now. 4 coworkers I liked are gone. The only people left are the users and manipulators. No longer get treated like a person, but am back to just being a tool to help take in more money.

The job itself has become insanely stressful to me. There are so many people travelling now. Tonight I went in at 6, and by 10 I had checked in more rooms than a normal 8 hour day. I was totally overwhelmed by people, and I cant handle that. It's been happening every Thursday-Saturday, Also on Mondays for another group(who cause problems).

I'm just exhausted mentally and physically, even though it's not a physically intensive job. I don't want to go back. I want to straight up quit.

...but knowing myself like I do, I wouldn't have an easy time finding another job. This income has been fantastic, and losing that is literally the only downside to quitting. It's a big downside though, there's just so much else that I can't stand any more that I'm not sure it's even worth it.

I'm gonna go to sleep now, just got home from work and I'm wiped out. Will check back later. Thanks.

One time at my old job, I was so standing out back and something landed beside my foot. I thought it was a dead leaf, but it didn't look right. Looking closer I realized it was a pair of bats mating. I didn't want to get too close out of fear that they'd separate and attack. So, I backed away.

I just mean play along as in stay in conversation. Show interest. I get by by being open with how I feel about everything and asking questions I feel further the conversation. I literally have no knowledge of anything, but I can hold a conversation about most things because I know how to further the conversation by having them do the talking.

Are you genuinely interested when having conversations about other people's lives? Cause that definitely helps

I try to. I don't talk about my life when inna conversation, so I've learned to ask about theirs instead when things head that way. It's risky, because sometimes they ask back and I don't have an answer, but yes, I try to keep the focus on them as much as possible.

Are the other prisoners in the same situation? They're going to die within days as well?

If yes, I wouldn't report anyone just trying to save their lives. I might even do something so someone else could get another day.

If it's just me, and it's a regular prison they're escaping from with no imminent death over their heads, thats harder to say for sure. Though seems like it'd just be delaying the inevitable, so if I did it'd just be once or twice I think.

They arent hamfisted because as they said, the Avengers did what they wanted. Just like everything Gamora did is exactly what they wanted. Theres only one timeline right now. They explain that and how if they allow even one variation itll branch out into another multiverse war. As there has already been one based on their stuff, this timeline won and isnt allowing another to possibly dethrone them.

It literally shows and states that they took multiple timelines and created a single one out of them. So, I'd assume using a spare part from one timeline to fix the main one wouldn't be as big of an issue if it results in the favorable outcome. It'd explain why Gamora and 2014 Thanos and Nebula arent variants get pruned, despite time shenanigans, they resolved themselves and ended up with all the important parts where they belonged, aside from Loki. Which is what we're seeing in his show.

I just think it's lame to say it was all predestined to play out exactly as we saw when the groundwork is there to still allow for what we saw to have happened and make sense with free will. Of course we'll learn more as the story continues, but allowing just a little bit of wiggle room goes a long way in explaining how it might work.

Yup and the timeline they chose as the sacred timeline is the one in which Gamora 2 does exactly as she did. They snipped the other timeline bud. They literally show the one timeline and explain any branch allowed to keep going creates more and more branches. Theres one timeline. Anything in that timeline cannot be a variant. Every action Gamora 2 has taken and will take (until the multiverse begins) is a part of the sacred timeline. If she were a variant out there, shed be creating more and more branches with literally every choice she made. You arent getting that portion of being a variant.

It actually says that they took a bunch of timelines and mushed them into one, and are just snipping off new branches as they grow. It's entirely possible that they accounted for some duplicates to replace themselves if they are important to keeping a future event in line.

If they're just choosing whichever favorable outcome from the possible ones of the combined timelines, allowing a person to migrate from one to another in order to keep a more favorable one is probably acceptable. Also explains how Strange saw millions of outcomes, if only one was possible.

I think the TVA is much more lenient than than they appear and are just using propaganda and snipping timelines for a reason other than protecting the sacred one. Guess we'll see, but if events like endgame and Gamora replacing herself are allowed, it looks like the timekeepers arent as iron fisted over time shenanigans as long as they sort themselves out. It Loki's removal of the stone that branched him out of the sacred timeline, and I doubt he'd be willing to go back and do things the "right" way after.

This one is actually addressed in the first Ant-Man. Hank Pym hates the Starks because he says Howard stole his particles back then. Howard denies it, so Pym considers him a liar and a thief. Then in Endgame we see it was actually Tony and Steve that stole the particles.

Hank was right that a Stark took them, he was just wrong about which one.

I once saw a ghost in my backyard late at night. This is years back when we still had fig trees and I swore I saw this smoky apparition moving in front and between the tree leaves. I just stared and stared and eventually it vanished. I didn't think too much about it afterwards.

Oh, I just remembered one. Once I was driving to town, and saw what looked like a tiny patch of fog floating in a field next to the road. Except it wasn't foggy, it was a warm sunny day and hadn't even rained. You know those wispy patches of fog that pop up on hit days after it rains? Looked like one of those. The thing is, it was shaped like a person. It was literally the size and shape of a person floating like 10 feet in the air. Just a single patch of human shaped fog .

It was weird enough that I stopped and looked at it for a bit, no features or anything. Could clearly tell it was just some mist, but the way it was shaped exactly like a person was a bit freaky. lol

One time my brother was driving home from work on a country road and he and his friend claim they saw a body hanging in a tree. When they stopped and reversed to try to call 911 the body was gone. I want to know what happened.

Reminds me of a story my high school art teacher told us. That when she was 12 she went to her family's barn. When she opened the door, there was a body hanging inside that had been gutted. She ran back to the house and got her parents. By the time they got to the barn, the body had been cut down and dragged to the back. Which means the killer was still there when she found it.

I don't recall if they caught the guy, seems like she said they didn't. Not saying the body your brother saw was cut down and moved, because I'm sure it was quicker for them to back up than it was for her to run home and come back. It just reminded me of her story.

No, we were supposed to buy tickets for $50 or sell a $50 voucher to a local restaurant. It would cover most of the class activities like that.

Except, I didn't sell mine. I returned it to the teacher, like I was supposed to. Then when I returned later to pay the $50, they told me I owed $100 instead on account of my missing voucher. The teacher denied ever getting it back from me(I was always invisible and forgettable then). So, I was banned from attending anything of the sort until I paid.

I hadn't planned on going, but having the option for the other events would've been nice.
