Git is decentralized. Are you sure you didn't commit to your local repository without pushing to remote?

Thanks, I'll have to check when I get back to my computer.

Did you make anything?

I did two kinda cool GUIs in Tkinter.

So I wrote a few class scripts and uploaded them on Github using Gitkraken. Checked back today and it was all gone??

I'm not sure if I fucked up somewhere or what, but I need to look up more on how to use these programs.

I have a few questions regarding translating code into other languages. Is it a fluid transition or are there a lot of changes? Also would I need to unlearn a few things? Just dont want to start too early into delving into other things.

I'm reading this book, it's pretty solid so far.

https://www.goodreads.com/en/book/show/25587599-haskell-programming-from-first-principles

I've been programming for years and always wanted to scratch that functional itch, but could never quite make the jump from imperative style

After im finished with this reading, I'll check that out too.

I'm about 100 pages in and yeah it's pretty good. I keep meaning to finish it but I get distracted.

Anyone got any project ideas I could work on?

I would guess many more practical projects. Something that can help with real-life applications just to see how basic programs work in everyday systems. Thats basically what I'm aiming for too.

Also im a few pages in and this booklet it pretty good. Im not going to take notes, just want to absorb some of it and apply it.

That link is really useful! I've been reading through some of it and it sets out points that are easy and plain to read.

I'm going to set time to read through a lot of it, even though I know most of the first few parts by practical work already.

The contrast between Haruka and Hana here is so hot to me. I dont know why, but their differing styles, and the fact that they play rather dark/sadistic characters in these movies hit the right buttons for me. So attractive.

I've been reading Think Python. It's pretty good. Just a refresher so far but it's worth a read if you want the link to download it.

Thanks, If you could send it I'd appreciate it.

As for me, today I was extremely unproductive. Played some FFXIV and was planning on studying/drawing/coding later on. But my mind just couldn't focus on them.

Hopefully tomorrow will be different.

New MV's from Sakurazaka. Morita is really pushing out that Techi vibe! Also Tamura is lovely as a center. Can't wait for Risa as center in the next MV. Been waiting for her to take the front for years.

What kind of project? Another RPG?

Its going to be more practical projects. Im going to find basic real life applications that can be used in Python so I can learn how to make them.

Nice. Acer is a good brand. Hope it works out for you.

Ive barely done anything lately. Tired of watching videos and reading tutorials. I need to get more into projects but its tough knowing where to begin sometimes.

Same. I feel the itch to just start a new project until I get stuck again, then I'll look it up, research or go through tutorials.

The 4 hour video at the beginning was helpful, and I made over 20 pages of notes. But doing that constantly I know would be counter productive.

Didn't realize you lived in the UK. I figured you lived on the east coast in America.

Im in London. For now at least but I'm hoping to move to Japan pretty soon in the future to work there.

On the upside I managed to snag this:

Acer monitor g276hl, 27"

I got it for 90 which I think its a pretty good deal compared to what I'm seeing online. Pretty happy with the picture too as a secondary screen.

You might have some luck going inside Target. I always see discounted monitors there.

I don't think we have those in the UK. Although I'll be going out tomorrow so I'll see if I can pick up a cheap monitor from a computer shop somewhere. I know of one where I used to frequent when I was young.

I need to come up with a new project to work on.

And no shame in programming with just a single monitor.

Yeah I did a bit, but seriously its hard to get used to with one monitor. Just all the little things that were convenient with multiple monitors really make a difference. I really gotta buy a cheap one or something.

Whats the bug say

I would post it but:

Welp, I think one of my monitors is fucked. An expensive 4k Sony TV. Extreme flickering/ghosting issues which started today.

Going to leave it off for a day or two and see if it fixes since I've tried so many other things. If it doesnt work, then its gonna be hard to code with just one screen tbh.

Working on a combat system for a game. It's pretty basic, but functional.

I've got to tweak the numbers though to make it challenging, but fair. Also want to incorporate attack modifiers and defense modifiers based off of class (which will be determined by the reason for why the player ended up in prison).

Thats interesting. I want to try that soon.

My game is primarily RNG based. It gets harder towards the end and its mostly based off luck.

Creating my final encounter in this code and then it will finally be finished. Its against an Oni demon who blocks every turn which reduces damage by 2. He will also have regenerative health for a set random amount.

Based on which route taken earlier which dictates your current level, you can have a hard time or easier time with this encounter.
