I find that they have a grounding effect - like when the pressure gets to be too much and you feel like you're spiralling and you can't orient yourself, the exercises put you in touch with your immediate surroundings and can help bring you back, even if it doesn't necessarily reset the clock on the entire experience. idk if that's relatable to what you're experiencing, and thus idk if they would be useful to you, but I thought I'd offer. Once the day is done I come home, eat, watch am episode or two of anime and then it's already time for bed Over the weekend my advisor gives me a ton of work to do by Monday. Any free time I would have had is taken up by helping my single mother care for my disabled younger brother (which, to clarify, I'm happy to do and do not consider negotiable) Every time I try to bring up the issue that this isn't conducive to my mental health she tells me "it's like that for everyone". The university counselling services have a six week waiting list (three have passed since I made an appointment, three remain) and I'm not sure I can hold out that long without breaking down :/ --- post Edit: copy my sig |
