Also I don't really get the sentiment here on "Hollywood used to know how to do X." It never changed lol. Stuff like Taxi Driver is infinitely more bleak and depressing than most modern Oscar nominees. It isn't that Maher hits a nerve, it's that he's... just... wrong.

We let my mom go within 2 hours of this after the doctors made it clear there was no real path to decent survival and recommended it to us. I'm kind of shocked they haven't pulled the plug yet, though he's about 15 years younger.

Studios need less power and creators need more power over their work

If it leads to clunkers getting bad director's cuts, who cares? But anytime I think director's cut I think Heaven's Gate, Blade Runner, Kingdom of Heaven, etc. Or even just extended editions where the cuts were amicable.

Maybe a Schumacher Cut is genuinely pretty great. Forever definitely has a real director behind it and I could see major studio interference hurting the movie after Batman Returns pissed off parents and made studios nervous

RJ isn't wrong here, tbh. Snoke was fundamentally a bad idea, he really was only good as fodder to make Kylo more of an independent character. Disney fucked that up though and i don't think RJ did a great job anyway
