The mimic power was the first one I got. I just can't figure out how to use it: I press and release the button (I think LT?) and it does nothing

I'll upgrade the others too once I get the neuromods

I noticed a mimic in that room, but I didn't realise it spawned from the room. That makes it even better imo

Otherwise, I'm almost at the 5 hour mark and my general thoughts are that it's very good. My only experience with immersive sims so far has been through the Deus Ex Jensen games, which I liked a lot. This is also very good, even if it's missing some stuff that I really liked in those (eg dialogue options). The fact that I severely dislike anything scary yet I'm still happily playing this speaks volumes as to its quality tbh

Went through Psychotronics. The lab with everything labelled 'not a mimic' was great. The (clearly signposted) alien breaking out of the procedure...not so much

Swung by the morgue but it seems I'm lacking a key card. Now I'm at the entrance to GUTS, which I'll do next time, I think

Made it back into Psychotronics, got the mods and the crafting recipe, and went for the mimic power, along with the cool sequence alongside it

Now I have a few of each, so I'll go back into Psychotronics

Both main and side mission want me to go to Psychotronics, so I guess I'll head there next

Went to trauma centre, found email that he was someone else. Died to fire alien multiple times, left

Tried to get in to 'somewhere else' but it didn't work. Went on main quest to hardware labs, found the recipe for bullets and the gun, went back and made a fuckton of bullets. Need to take a small break for irl stuff then I'm gonna go to hardware labs again

I took hacking and stealth. Also the medkit buff. I'm a coward, so my plan is to sneak past the aliens without having to engage them

Today's plan: go to trauma centre and do side quest

OK, time for some thots

Art style: it didn't grow on me. I wouldn't say I hated it, but I preferred how 999 handled it

The overall atmosphere here was lighter and less creepy than 999. As a noted coward who didn't even manage to enter the house in Outlast, I'm 100% on board with that change. 999 wasn't really horror, but had enough horror elements to keep me on edge the entire time I was playing it. Outside of a few moments, that wasn't really the case here

I liked the characters and story. The way both included references to 999 without going overboard was nice. Reminded me a bit of modern Fallout. The twists and turns were great, and the truth about Sigma especially floored me. The voices were good, and Zero Jr's VA clearly had a lot of fun in the role :D

The puzzles felt in general more difficult in this one, especially towards the end. That said, Q was a good finale, even if the explanation wasn't the best.

I think it's pretty clear the final game will take place at the test site and involve changing history so Radical-6 doesn't get released. I'm looking forward to answers, especially regarding best girl. I liked her comparison of herself to the relativistic factor at the end

I'm not good at writing things unprompted, so feel free to ask me about my thoughts on topics I missed out. In the meantime, I definitely won't be looking for a good deal for a Phi body pillow <_<

Done! At least, I got the plat, so I assume I'm done with all the content

The sequel hook was intriguing at the end. Though I didn't 100% understand where Kyle ended up at the end

I think this is the end. Unskippable credits, but Sigma came to as old Sigma and not young Sigma
