I can kinda understand the desire to police chat since eng chat kinda sucks a lot of the time. well, honestly jp chat often sucks too but usually in a more boring/inoffensive way (honestly like 50% of vtuber chat is people just spamming kawaii or tskr or a few other phrases) vs the more directly dumb messages you tend to get from other languages

but also they gotta realize there's no way they'll make chat any better, and the very action of trying to do that only makes it worse <_<

sometimes I feel like a lot of the eng resistance to outside collabs is a result of a longterm culture in the eng anime/manga/etc fandom of hating almost everything, and half the stuff you do like, you just like "ironically". like, I feel like a lot of the "fans" hate basically all content creators in the space, and then see these collabs as basically "why do you want to stream with this person, they suck"

no she actually replied with some very heavy sarcasm to a tweet I'd probably get warned for on gfaqs so go look for it yourself <_<
I don't see the point of the Eng chat being "good" either, whatever the criteria for that may be. It mostly depends on the streamer's interaction with the chat where whether or not the chat even changes the experience of the stream. When JP streamers don't even understand English, literally none of the English chat matters, which is doubly what makes policing or criticizing the quality of it a huge waste of time. But you see like kson's chat where she interacts with both languages, and most of the Eng chat there tends to be pretty good.

Also JP chat is boring outside the zatsudans where they make some effort to contribute to the humor. Their rule doesn't work either

Gotta understand a sizable portion of the Vtuber audience hasn't attained any healthy social abilities. Can't remember how many times I had to encounter some hard to ignore socially unaware screechings and unwarranted chat policings in Towa's chat. She tends to have lesser views esp in her non-tournament Apex stuff, and it's literally just full of people policing even the English chats, which she can't even understand.

In Japan, I think it's a bit more unhealthy somehow. There's this sentiment that a talking stream with a Vtuber is akin to going on a date with that person, and they treat this sentiment as if... not cringe inducing? For a lack of pleasant equivalent words. In Japan, the idea of a parasocial relationship is not quite as well known perhaps, but I have no proof of whether or not, only that this pattern of thinking is a blatant disregard of the concept.

But I think it's pretty similar to those people who screech at others in chat for essentially not following their own self-imposed rules. Like what they're saying is clearly not written in the stream description, so there's no way they're in the right, but they act as though they maintain some power over the streamer by keeping the chat "clean" for them, in their mind.

I think people who don't want their streamer to interact with another streamer is essentially the same thing. It's just a cringey attempt at a power dynamic. It's like oh I gave you money, so why don't you do what you do. When in reality when you give a streamer money, it's for the product they put out on the spot, not whether or not they'll do something for you in the future. You don't buy like a scissor and then demand the company for the scissor you own to cut through metal in the near future when it clearly can't now. You already bought the scissor so return it if it doesn't stand up to your expectations, simple as that.

Yeah SMTV being repetitive is a bit sus. Are you literally fighting every random battle in your way? You constantly have to recycle your team and all the bosses have pretty different required responses especially in the last half.

There is a small gap or two where you're way stronger than the bosses, but if that's the case, you should just do hard mode. Hard honestly isn't even that hard from my experience, but if you're breezing through with the same strategy, you're probably not on hard.

Don't always blame the game is what I'm saying. Sometimes it's you, as hard as that may be to accept

Music isn't really about the most popular anymore. Cuz of the internet, you can just about find anybody doing your favorite genre somewhere out there, and they're earning some pennies to justify keep doing it.

Rock is still a base point for a lot of music, so hard to say if it's dead even in terms of popularity. But specific genres of Rock aren't nearly as prevalent for sure.

Sword and Shield got lukewarm reception. People recognized that they were lazy games not worth a $60 price tag. They were the first pokemon mainline games I did not buy at launch.
And yet lazy buggy remakes in the DP remake did not sell worse despite the bad rep from SwSh. You gotta understand that this series can release literal shit with no lasting consequence

Also far better series actually take several years to release games. Pokemon release something at minimum every 2 years. That's how they remain profitable. Most profitable series have relatively cheap quick production, like COD or any of the sports games.

This is the equivalent to people buying McDonalds burgers and don't even order burgers in higher end restaurants. It's just cheap accessible goods with wide appeal and taste that exceed a very low threshold.

I can see the defense for 3U cuz it has some of my favorite fights like Ceadeus or Abyssal Lagi, even though both are underwater fights, and most underwater combat sucked ass. It also had Lucent Narga, so yeah a lot of great stuff. The controls weren't impossible either

But most sane people should honestly play 4U and on. Most of the games after this are pretty similar in the weight of their pros and cons

Goddamn it's insanely easy to build a deck you want if you know what you're doing. Basically just do the solo missions for a bit, just completing the Monarch one alone should be enough. Use it to craft some SR or UR of the archetype you want to go for, and that'll unlock its pack for 24 hours. Just pull the f out of that pack and you'll eventually have a deck

Make sure to buy the battle pass which is just a cheap 600 gems. Buy all the Special packs like Ash Blossom, Lightning Storm, Solemn Johnson, all solid splashable cards. That shit is all basically free lmao

Why'd they make it this generous? What's even the profit strategy for this game lol

Also the Solo mode stuff has some pretty nice little blurbs about each archetypes. You can use them to gauge if you like that archetype, but some of them are really old and I don't fully recommend it

The overall UI is nice as hell too. It's pretty much what both sides of the audience wanted I think

I think 4U is where I think MH starts a long ascent to quality. 4U in general I don't think was fully topped. Amazing fights in that one, and I personally like its charge blade the best. GU's base game kinda sucked but the extension was fucking legendary. Meh about world but Iceborne was great, so honestly the point here is that you should only play MHs with extensions

Yeah they're cross converters. Basically creates a crapload of their element's tiles in a cross shape, generally a late game necessity because bursting with a big board is almost always better than just converting a few at a time and relying on luck.

Maggie is good, but generally Barton and Sikare are considered more valuable. I'd say you can hedge your bet a bit and just go Sikare so that one day you can get a great base to use Lucoa. Forest is considered the best element with some debatable match ups favoring other elements, so it wouldn't be too hard to get other pieces of the overall team.

Just go for whoever looks good though. You have Eicy and Faust, so you can rely on them in terms of meta and just pull whoever you like more

Now to see if it's possible to get more of this amber stuff to try for Kanna before the event ends.
There is another free 10 pull like next week I think. But if you do the story, you should have plenty of pulls you can do.

Most of the dragonmaid chars are probably optimal with one more dupe for each of them. It gives them all preemptives, which allows you to use them turn 1, which is generally great. They're all also really good early game where you can actually kill stuff with active damage.

I'd recommend the story despite some slowish start but you probably have far too many gachas to juggle for such a thing lol

Also holy crap, you started with Eicy and Faust. They're pretty much core of every fire team. You just need those 2 and you can use just about anybody you want. Tohru highly recommended

Holy crap Lucoa is mega broke. Her mark increases active dmg received by max 70% at 10 marks, not sure if multiplicative or additive. Either way, that makes the likes of Beryl or Paloma or Lola incredibly potent, and their active was already powerful. Oh yeah it also works for Migard. Her chain attack range is a bit weird but shouldn't be a huge issue. I wonder if it's 1 mark per tick of damage.

Yeah all of the units revealed so far have just been DPS focused. I mean Elma is technically the best attacker against 3x3 enemies because column hits will hit 9 times to them and the best the usual Detonators can do are 6 times atm.

Also she works terrifically with Bethlehem. She will make the positioning not a huge issue.

I'm just gonna have to guess that they're making most of the collab units non-essentials. There are a lot of DPS in the game where you only really need 2 at the most per team atm. But it's not as if they're useless either. I think some people are not gonna be happy they skipped over Bethlehem but I guess we'll see when the shock settles

Huh, I didn't expect the rarities of the dragons to be how they are. Tohru and Kanna are 6 star, Lucoa and Elma are 5, and Fafnir is 4. Kanna's skills were just shown too

That's probably better in the long run. They're all probably gonna be limited, and 5*s tend to be really good once they reach max LB, which is probably not gonna be possible with a few rolls. They're giving away 20 total rolls through the event though, which is pretty cool.

From what I see though, Tohru is really good, but Kanna's skill description doesn't make 100% sense to me yet, both being sniper is a bit sus. Kanna doesn't have splash damage on her kit, and her chain isn't infinite range... yeah I don't really know. Maybe her active is better than it seems. Imo snipers need to be infinite range chain attack at the minimum to be considered good.

Yumeno Lilith, who saw pretty great growth within the Noriopro Vtubing group, was released from the company following what was supposed an allegation of illegal activity. Unknown as to what, but it sounds serious. It doesn't sound like it was something out of breaking some vtubing unspoken laws or anything like that but straight up breaking of a law in Japan. Lawyers are involved, and it's unlikely we'll ever hear of the actual reason within the next several months.

I haven't watched her much, usually saw her within the usual circle of indies, though I guess it's difficult to call Noriopro ppl indie. It's a shame, but it's hard to tell what will come of this

Yeah it's a bit weird, but when your leader crosses the panel, the bonus applies to everybody, so your last unit probably gets a slight bit more damage multiplier. But it's not like a massive enough difference that you were missing out on a ton of dmg or anything

Characters like Hiiro or Sinsa should be leaders though. Hiiro gets her passive restored when the leader crosses the enhanced tile, so you'd want her to be normal attacking the boss ASAP so she can get the passive refreshed again. Sinsa applies his def down debuff on his diagonal attacks, and it applies immediately to all the following units. If you put him last, then your units don't get the def down benefit when they're normal attacking

Tohru is pretty good. Not sure if she can outdamage Sinsa but you won't regret having her, that's for sure

Also the current event's welfare unit is imo a pretty high tier unit. Lola. She's also one of the only units that can fit in every team, also fulfills a healer role all by herself. Also she's a delight in the story. Thank god the likable characters given away are all great. Pittman is also terrific. I do wonder how they're gonna handle the welfare units to new players who missed them, especially if they're gonna be as good as Lola and Pittman

Yeah save your gems for the Dragon Maid collab. I... don't think the guarantee beginner gachas ever go away? So you can save them for later anyways. If they're timed, you should probably go for it cuz they give you a 6* converter guaranteed I think.

It's important to load your team up with good converters. Having 2 is a minimum, though there are exceptions. The beginner gachas basically guarantee you one of the better converters. Otherwise you might find yourself having a lot of dead turns or a lack of damage.

Usually doing 1 element is better, but in casual play, just use whatever you want. I've gone weird mix match for a really long time b4 making a better team

I always see ppl praising Watchmen, but it was mostly a straight rip from the original with a slightly different ending sequence that didn't matter too much in the grand scheme of things. Maybe Zack Snyder has talent in certain aspects of directing, and it's difficult to deny him of that, but creating an original story or a whole extended universe obviously isn't his forte. Whedon has already had a history of successfully pulling this off, though of course plenty of others came later that proved to have even better talents in this regard. But to say the whole original cut was his fault just doesn't sound right to me.

I mean this movie kinda killed his entire career lol. Though I guess the allegations that came for Whedon later dealt the final blow. I still think he's made better stuff than Snyder has ever done. Firefly is still one of my favorite shows ever

Just realizing how perfect Dragon Maid collab is for Alchemy Star looking at Vice's comment on Kanna. I forgot that a lot of Aurorians are like dragon chicks themselves, including Vice. Though a lot of them kinda stop on the tail, a few of them like Sharona has a pair of horns

Also RIP Maggie lmao

Yeah if you actually cared about the games, the 3DS has it for far cheaper, and you can also emulate without much hassle. This is purely for the collector's value. This is like complaining that cartridges or CDs cost 60 bucks because the materials and technology used to make it cost far less than 60 bucks. It's true but every product tends to have more value attached to it than just the materials lol. It's basic life shit

On another hand, Elira and Petra streamed Alchemy Stars, probably my favorite gacha atm because of all the right things it does as a legitimate video game aside from the gacha elements. It's not exactly an easy game though. You have to think pretty carefully both in and out of combat, like make an actual team with a balance of consistency and DPS, and in practice, plan out your attacks a few turns before.

I think it still applies to early game because it's more inherently in the system, so I'm curious as to how Elira and Petra were able to cope with it. I dunno how RPG savvy they are

But that game has a beautiful story (slow to pick up but extremely rewarding because it takes the world building and its characters so seriously), extremely rewarding combat for RPG fans, and great great arts and waifus and husbandos. I think it's legit one of the last few remaining games that actually kept up with the husbandos. The guys are just as pretty as the girls. I really can't think of many gachas that actually do that anymore.

Anyways, highly recommend, and if anybody tries, put a minimum of 2 converters in your team. Potentially reroll for 5* and 6* converters of the same element. Also the devs are insanely nice and frequently listens to feedbacks and rewards their players with free shit all the time for just being fans
