The problem is that it takes any and all challenge out of the main game (not that it had much challenge to begin with). Now you just go in a straight line with your entire team being OP.Most modern RPGs level all your party members even if they didn't participate. This is no different from that. There's no difficulty in being forced to waste time to grind a Pokmon that didn't participate in battle. It's just a time killer. Like you said, these games have never really been difficult. You go to the Battle Tower or whatever other equivalent a Pokmon game has for real challenge. The Elite Four is usually a decent challenge as well --- "This is your last dance." |
