can confirm Inviso posted a ranking in XXI with Agrias ranked higher than Aeris (by like 30 placements)

as did Eddv that year put Agrias in his top 10 and Aeris in his bottom 10 (Agrias #2 in Eddv's Top 15 this year)

Let's try this again..... bot contest added newcomers in the contests they were originally added -- ie. I and I-2 both have the same pool of the original contestants, and II-2 adds the same newcomers that the original II did.

Boots however, are made consistent with the new reruns as opposed to the original boots.

SMFFFC I boots: Tellah, Wakka, Amarant, Rinoa, Yang
SMFFFC I-2 boots: Cecil, Wakka, Tidus, Tellah, Yang

So the original II lost Amarant and Rinoa, but the new II-2 kept them, losing Cecil & Tidus instead.

Returners weren't a thing until SMFFFC V. So when that contest started there was a new Preliminary Round, where the first x safe took the available Returner slots -- SMFFFC V had 5 returners and 5 newcomers, so the first 5 characters safe from the boot pool from I-2, II-2, and III-2 made it into V-2 along with the newcomers. (V-2 returners were Gilgamesh, Barret, Vincent, Tidus, and Yuna... yes Gilgamesh in the boot pool when he came 2nd in II-2 means he was then booted in III-2)

Messing around with the Kraid skip... and it doesn't actually seem useful beyond the neat OHKO. Of course getting the Grapple early lets you get bombs, pulse radar, and flash shift early.... but you still need Diffusion Beam to reach the Speed Booster EMMI control station, which means coming back down to Kraid.

I guess if you get the Grapple early then you don't even need to fight Kraid, since there's a grapple door behind him to the Diffusion Beam......... but the teleporter after Kraid brings you to the early grapple anyways so you might as well just get Varia, kill Kraid for the Diffusion Beam, then do the Grapple skip which is the real ticket to opening up some shortcuts and early powers on the way to Speed Boosters (which were the original tool for unlocking Grapple).

I should note that I have seen a way to get past the Diffusion Block in your way to the Speed Boosters through Burenia... but it seems to be a rather unreliable glitch that I'd rather not bother with. Full Kraid skip would've been cool if you could at least get up to the speed boosters reliably but oh well.

One think Windows 11 might've fixed for me however is my HDMI audio disappearing after my PC recovers from sleep mode, unless I go into Device Manager > Scan for hardware to get my audio back.

I've had this issue a while on Win10, I've seen others with the same issue recommended a regedit tweak, which did work... although every once and a while got reset and I'd lose my audio overnight again.

The past 2 days however I don't think I've had to fix my audio after sleeping overnight... and if that's the case I can kinda be happy even if frustrated at the garbage taskbar functionality

That's a pretty interesting answer and honestly better than my assumption so I'm happy with it.

It also makes you again wonder if Nintendo makes this apply to future DLC for other games, that DLC may also have some components that are permanently unlocked and some features that are lost.

The SNES ones say they have a USB option, but the NES one is different? It can only be charged with a switch console? Can someone confirm that you cannot use the NES controllers with a USB?

not that I've looked into PC connectivity but yeah my NES controllers are on the tv stand right now and there's no port of any kind, they just slide into the joycon rails

that being said, I know there are ways to connect joycons through Bluetooth so the NES controllers may work the same -- just expect a bit of a hassle configuring them. Googling I see a github for Betterjoy which appears to offer the functionality for joycons themselves at the very least.

the requirement might be TPM 2.0 which you might just be able to enable through your BIOS

but yeah this wasn't forced on me, like I said I've had zero issues with past upgrades, even the dreaded 8.0 so I figured why not again (I am looking forward to the future native android app feature)

I've never had seconds on my taskbar clock. You sure that's not a special feature you enabled somewhere before?

I mean when you click the clock / open the calendar there's a more detailed clock in Win10 with the seconds

Win11 doesn't do that...... there's even a "Clock" app you can open which, again, still doesn't show the full time

Taskbar is the biggest problem overall, which includes the bit about seconds being removed from the clock

as someone that always had their Taskbar set to "combine when taskbar is full" (and can't recall a time the taskbar got the the point of collapsing) - I hate that labels on your taskbar windows are no longer an option and you can only have the grouped icons

also for fuck's sake you also can't drag files to different windows by dragging them to the taskbar anymore, so you either have to have both the windows you're transferring between up at once, or alt-tab between them while dragging

My assumption is that you lose access to the DLC content but the save of it existing is still there in case you get the content back later but yeah

then I don't know what happens if you make wall partitions or counters in your real home because it seemed like those are DLC features so what happens then with your main file actual house you put a wall partition in and then lose the DLC?

like if they do keep up with putting DLC on here, then as someone who tends to buy DLC for the top Nintendo games this would cover its cost for me and justify the membership

that doesn't apply to most people though, and if it's an AC only thing then not even I can't justify keeping it beyond the first year.

... though I do also see the potential for this to encourage Nintendo to make more things into DLC, to give more "value" to the pass

yeah more free DLC is kinda what I expect, they definitely can't just ride on AC DLC forever

not that I really think it justifies fifty bucks, but it's an interesting take that could actually be used to make people more inclined to buy games they have the free DLC for
