There's also the issue that Spider-man would be the only person around those drones if everyone forgot Mysterio.

So best case scenario he's in a situation where Spider-man is stuck with being blamed for attacking London with drones with no way to blame the actual person who did it because he no longer would exist.

It's a convoluted answer to a problem that only exists due to the lack of precautions taken by Doctor Strange.

The video had credibility because Peter explicitly had the capability to do what he was framed for. He had control over the drones from Stark and everything snowballed from there.

It wasn't some random video based on nothing. It was manipulated in a specific way that made it hard for Peter to deny he was Spider-man.

We're also assuming that Strange was even able to do the spell that way to begin with. Peter Parker was present and in the vicinity of the spell being cast. They wouldn't be able to do the same for Beck.

She said earlier in the movie that she doesn't get her hopes up anymore to avoid disappointment. When she has that final conversation with Peter she was saying that it feels different this time. I'm pretty sure she was implying she does have her hopes up for the future since she got into MIT and that it feels different so she does have hope that things will be better. Solidifying to Peter that he did the right thing and causing him to leave them alone.

Erasing Mysterio wouldn't help anything. People would still know who Spider-Man is, they would just forget who revealed it.
