The NRA has argued that increased liability or acknowledgment of risk is infringing on "right to own"
theres a difference in requiring something and being punished when you roll the dice and lose. and the NRA has been full of shit for years, they only say something when it means it can rile up their base to put more money in their own pockets. they havnt cared about gun rights for a long time, atleast as far as it effecting their bottom dollar.

Its utterly stupid that you have to go through licensing and qualification to drive a 2000 pound deadly vehicle but you have to go through none of that to have a fucking deadly firearm that you can hide in a purse or a bagger underneath your shirt
outside of the whole constitution thing because theres not much point in it. a gun is a very simple thing and not much is needed to know how it works with much of it coming down to common sense. you DO need to know a lot in terms of operating a vehicle safely on public roads which carries with it a significantly higher chance of injury to others and property damages otherwise. licensing historically for firearms always comes back to needlessly padding requirements rather than wanting to make sure the individual knows how to operate it safely which always carries with it higher costs and barrier to entry which always effects poorer communties and minority groups above everyone else.

where the whole conversation should go in this context is liability laws and public safety courses/acknowledgement. it wont stop stupid, but would effect accidents overall and probably cut down on illegal firearms in circulation without really adding more restrictions to people who fallow the law.

good game with great atmosphere, surprisingly decent story (for an RE) and some nice characters. the overall RE aspects fit well into its design.

unfortunately i dont like the forced stealth horror aspects (tho i appreciate that you can slow down the enemies) and when those didnt pop up youre left with mediocre combat against mediocre enemies which takes over the second half of the game (but id still take that over the stealth stuff).
TopicI started The Witcher 2 and surprisingly enjoying it so far despite hating TW3

TW3's greatest aspects were in its side quests. its world design in that regard IS impressive in that you wernt guided to them and its world had a less disjointed and patched work feel to it which tends to plague a lot of other open world games (think ubisoft syndrome, tho it has to suffer from it to a degree which it does), most of its quality content (for better or worse) wasnt handed to the player so because of its size it was possible to actually miss a lot of it. the game is technically structured in terms of of its open world design, but it IS an open world. Velen's world map alone is larger than most "real" open world games (and comprises about as much content as two witcher 2 playthroughs alone), then you have Skellige to travel to later which is almost as large. White Orchard, despite being the starting area can also be as long as most 8-10hour single player action games.

2 is the opposite. because of its more limited focused design its main narrative tended to have more meaning and less filler associated with it which was one of the biggest problems in 3. 3's main story had what felt like filler for large chunks of it as it poked you around the massive maps. 2 gets down to business faster and imo does the actual choices better because of all that. you actually have to replay W2 2-3 times to actually get all of its story content (and there are some MASSIVE differences in the choices and consequences) whereas W3 is one and done. Most of the other aspects in 3 tend to come down to tweaks which helps the overall flow of the gameplay (2 feels more stiff in that regard and its world while more focused is even more limited in terms of enteracting with it which as you said isnt a strong suit of the entire series)

my lifes dream (which has nothing to do with climate change) was to move to alaska and be self sufficient anyway. for now i live in michigan which already has some of the most crazy ass weather in the country.

but on topic, yes iv been prepping for years for whatever occasion. tho we'll all be long dead before we see any real effects of antyhing.
