Nah, you are technically correct (the best kind of correct) that the only person I can be sure of is myself so rolling over and dying is inherently anti-town. I just didn't think of that logic myself because I'm so confident in Ulti being town.

I guess we can chase this dragon. I don't see it happening but if it does at least I know 100% that I'm on town's side regardless of what Ulti flips AND we still have his thoughts in the background through me. Better than the current 98% confidence I have in Ulti being town. (I still don't see him being Elidibus)

And people should think logically. Its clearly a 3 + 1 scum setup, and mislynching me here means 4 town versus 4 anti-town. Even when/if Mike dies, were looking at 5v3 with having to discuss NL tomorrow. The safest play is to just take the gift, kill the guy that claimed third party, and well still have his thoughts from a private chat later.

I feel bad for Mike because the guy is clearly pro-town, but sheer math says he has to die here. Hopefully by tomorrow we have a scanner claim something.

Doesn't really matter I guess but I'm clearly not anti-town. As I said in my claim post, I considered lying and saying my role was straight up listed as town but I didn't want to lie when my inevitable flip will prove me to be 3rd party.

I still agree me dying today is the play. If Ulti IS Elidibus as scum then I guess scum wins and gg to them.

Since no one explained that to Ulti when he asked, Elidibus is a big bad you fight who has the title of "Warrior of Light" during the fight. It's a fun idea but I'm not giving it much credence.

I said why in my original claim post. Because I wanted to make sure we had a lot of time in the day to discuss this situation. As far as I could tell at first glance it's a cut and dry "we should lynch me" situation but that doesn't mean I wanted to drop this power with 6 hours left and leave everyone scrambling.

I don't know what to tell you. In the end it doesn't really matter because I'll die and flip and continue talking through Ulti sooooo whatever I guess? I know this all looks ridiculous, that's only because it is.

That's to Crescent, obviously, who seems to be under the impression that I'm trying to convince people not to kill me.

I never pretended anything was going to happen today other than me being lynched. The fact any debate over this is happening at all is utterly shocking to me. I'm fully resigned to the fact that I'm dead today.

No, once I've successfully merged with the WoL, I lose the ability. I actually sent a PM about this specifically because I wasn't sure either and my role PM wasn't clear.

Not really? If anyone were Elidibus it would have to be me, since we know from my role that there HAS to be someone who has the WoL role and no one counterclaimed Ulti when he said he was the WoL. I don't see the latter scenario happening. Doesn't make sense from a purely neutral perspective to let me live. I confirmed Ulti as town, you guys only have my word to confirm me (and Ulti soft confirming me, but that was before i claimed).

Point is it would be a risk to let me live over Ulti. I'm not gonna say no if y'all wanna do that, but I doubt Ulti will just move aside and let me sap him of his sweet sweet aether.

I assumed providing the protection of Azem gave Bulletproof or some other kind of defensive power. Didn't expect a Bodyguard to exist alongside that in a game this small.

If you read back you can tell I wasn't 100% sure it meant Shonen was scum, obviously now that was because I have no way to know exactly what I give to Ulti, but it was enough when combined with his scummy behavior and the fact that BG is an easy fake claim to send him to the executioner.

Aaaaaand to prove at least what I can of what I said to be true, I have officially requested to start the merging process with Ulti.

Yeah it definitely seems like a pointless role, especially since in order to win I have to either get a town killed or get myself killed. Either way we're losing a teammate even if we account for getting powers and the ability to keep talking to each other.

Okay, I'm gonna go ahead and claim because I feel like we are gonna need a lot of time to talk this out.

I'm Ardbert, ?Third Party? Warrior of Darkness

(Yes that's how it's listed)

I am the WoL from a dying shard who sacrifices himself to save the world and those he cares about.

Once per day, I can choose one other person in the game and attempt to merge their soul with my own.

All votes reset, and the only people that can be voted for are myself, or the person I chose. If the player i chose is the Warrior of Light, the player who survives the day's lynch unlocks the power and protection of Azem. The dying player can continue to communicate with the living player through our own separate chat.

If the person I chose is NOT the WoL, either I get lynched and can't win the game, or I survive and can try again tomorrow.

The only way I can win is by finding the Warrior of Light and either taking his power or giving my power up. Once I do so, I win when town wins.

I've been playing as a townie this whole time despite my third party title because, obviously, I need town to succeed for me to have any chance of winning.

I also considered claiming as town but I figure lying is a bad way to instill faith, especially after I inevitably get lynched and flip third party.

One way or another though, I'm going to need to waste a day's lynch on having you guys either kill me, or kill Ulti. I'm not sure what the power and protection of Azem is referring to. I assumed day 1 that the survivor became bulletproof amongst other powers, but obviously, if Ulti is telling the truth, that isn't the case. (Unless we take each others powers, so maybe Ulti gets the ability to force a 1v1 vote if he lives, and I become Bulletproof if I live? Idfk)

What do you guys think is the best way to play this? I considered just stalling on claiming until as late in the game as possible, but I feel like it must unlock something good for us if it's worth wasting an entire day's lynch for.

Now that I've claimed this though, I pretty much have to do it today, otherwise I will almost certainly wake up dead on day 3.

No, I don't know what the powers I get/give are.

No, I don't know if the powers are different depending on if I live or Ulti lives.

No, I don't know what the point of this role is, seems like a complicated and convoluted way of shoving a third party role into a game that doesn't need one. (Sorry, Ben)

I'm assuming based on Ulti's earlier post "confirming" me that his flavour includes something about being incomplete and that he needs to find me to unlock his true potential or something, but we will have to wait for Ulti to explain that.

I wanted to make sure, though that was my assumption.

Given a choice, who would have been your lynch yesterday, Chris?

That was a response to Banana but I'm a fool who didn't hit reply.

Ulti is confirmed town. I know because of my own role that the WoL is in this game somewhere and no one countered his claim.

But we literally just lynched our Bodyguard. Are you saying the scum team assumed we had even more protection to save you with? Possible based on Ulti and my reactions to the BG claim, but I feel like if we DID have any protection, it would have been much more likely to be pointed at Ulti than at you.

Okay so that Ulti claim blows my mind, not because he claimed Warrior of Light (in fact, I was fairly confident that would be his claim from almost his first post when he was hinting big power), but because he claimed Bulletproof which is the power I kind of assumed I could GIVE to Ulti.

I'm not sure if I should just outright claim what I am right now, but I'm coming pretty close to that point because I'm really not positive when a better point to do so would be and now I'm not even 100% sure what the point of my role is.

I know I'm being frustratingly vague and I'm probably going to claim today regardless but I'd like to get a little more discussion going before I inevitably make this day all about me.

On that note...Chris, I want to be your town buddy but I distinctly remember being told that you were the night 1 target of choice for any mafia team that wants to win. Why do you think they let you live?

I'm a lot more suspicious of anyone who was against the Shonen lynch because I really think a lot of what he did was scummy as hell between the slip, his reaction to the slip, and his responses afterwards. I feel like the only way someone would consider him town was if they knew something the rest of us don't. Yes, that includes you.

I checked to make sure and saw that Chris also mentioned Banananor but in a positive light for how he voted Bat.

Now I dont know about anyone else, but I am kinda concerned that Chris seems to already be accepting Bats lynch even though he was against it (I am pretty sure he was)

Both Chris and Ulti seemed against this lynch but haven't really said or done anything for most of the second half of this day. I'd like to get some more thoughts from then and whether or not they've changed their minds.

Okay I read the past few pages back and red and death very offhandedly mention banana as coasting a couple pages ago which, I mean, he hasn't really given a single opinion other than his vote, so that's just fact, but I don't know if I'd call that "shifting attention" as much as it is just trying to stir up discussion.

It's not like the three of us were under any serious threat and needing to throw suspicion elsewhere to get out from under any microscopes.

I dunno, from here that doesn't seem like something worth pointing out. It is day 1, and between your claim and the slip, I'm definitely most comfortable with my vote where it is still.

Eh, fair enough. I typed it without really thinking but I can see why it's not a good look. Is what it is, the rest of the game should make it clear I'm one of the good guys.

Home stretch though and I'd like to hear from some of the people who have said and done basically nothing so far.

Looks like you in particular have only come in, voted for Shonen, and not said a word as far as anyone else goes. What's up? Any scum/town leanings?

I mean, yes? That's a big reason I got my vote in there, to make it even clearer where I stand/stood. I said multiple times you can consider my vote on Shonen after his slip, now I'm backing it up.

Not sure why worrying about how you look is a scum trait only. I always worry about how people perceive me regardless of role, that's literally the game. I try to make it clear where I stand because, right or wrong, early day opinions and intentions are important for the future days in this game.

If you're looking for busing, look into the people who voted very shortly after the slip was pointed out. With how damning it was (imo), scum would very likely want to jump on the bus quickly to look good in the future.

If you're insinuating I'm busing him you haven't been paying attention.

For posterity sake, and because we're getting closer to the end of the day and I'm not sure exactly when I'll be around for the remainder:

Nothing he has said since his slip has convinced me to believe he's town and I don't see that changing after the bodyguard claim which was a scum favourite fake claim when I used to play and I assume nothing has changed.

Don't want to go into it yet, but I don't know if my role and bodyguard would exist together. It's not impossible, but yeah, it's enough for me to edge more on the "this guy is scum" train.

As far as the urianger thing goes, he is a character in game that uses a lot of fancy words for no reason, I thought isquen's phrasing seemed unnecessarily obtuse and it reminded me greatly of the way urianger talks.
