I've bought a few hoodies before. I usually go for options where the design isn't inherently associated with the YouTuber themself, though. Like I followed Wintergatan and his MMX build for ages, and I bought a hoodie when he first put them out. But I got the one without the big ass blueprint design on the back, so it's just a black hoodie that says "I Believe" on the chest. It's really comfy. ^_^

Not sure if you are comparing it to other FPS or Halo specifically but in Halo (assuming it's not a power weapon) either you're aiming for the head as much as possible if it's an accurate weapon to get a headshot kill when the shields are stripped or you're combining the gunfire with a melee or grenade for the kill. Sometimes doing both. There's a weird loop or logic to Halo combat that's pretty unique and all weapons sort of have their tactic for play.

Nah, it's not that. I grew up on Halo 1-3, so I understand the combat loop fairly well, but I stopped playing the series with Reach. I had a similar feeling when that game came out. At the time I think I attributed it to the introduction of reticle bloom, and the gunplay just didn't feel the same anymore. I don't think that's really the issue though, since I've seen reticle bloom in all kinds of other games now and really haven't had any issues with it.

Something just feel off. And it's definitely a personal thing, not any kind of flaw in the game or anything like that. They wanted to recapture that classic Halo multiplayer feel, and I think they did a fantastic job at it. Even if I suck at it, I can see that it's good and I'm happy that Halo lovers have something worthy of their time again.

I can't make up my mind on how I feel about it so far. I'm having fun so far, the sandbox is great, and while I haven't gotten too deep into the maps yet they seem pretty solid. But frankly, the guns themselves feel absolutely fucking awful to shoot and I can't get the feel for a single one of them. Went through the little shooting range trials and got 3 stars for every single one on every single gun and they all sucked.

I'm playing on PC, though. Gonna try using a controller next time and see if any of them click for me there. Otherwise I don't think I'll be playing long enough to see what future updates will bring. :-/

Someone help me make "The List"

Here's my list:

  • Pretty much any kind of chicken except BBQ. The sauce bothers me.
  • Pasta, but with less sauce than most people prefer.
  • Cheeseburgers, but plain only. Meat, cheese, bun, and nothing else. And no angus beef. That fucks me up for some reason and I have to be extra careful about it when going to nicer restaurants.
  • Steak. Thankfully nothing special here.
  • Pizza with double-cheese, sausage, pepperoni, or any combination of the three. I prefer less sauce (noticing a trend here?), but I can deal with it and just scrape some off if necessary. Chicago-style is a non-starter, though.
  • Salads, but I generally avoid them unless I'm making it myself because of all the random ingredients I end up having to pull out. I usually go with iceberg and romaine lettuce, carrots, red cabbage, cheddar or mozzarella cheese, ham, turkey, or combinations of those. Non-creamy varieties of Italian or simple vinaigrette for dressing only (Kraft's Tuscan House Italian is my favorite store-bought brand). Salads vary so much with ingredients that it's almost never worth it to order from a restaurant 'cause I never really know what I'm going to end up with, but it's probably my favorite thing to make at home. I love a nice big salad for lunch.
  • Sandwiches. Peanut butter, either crunchy or creamy is fine, but no jelly. Or a deli meat sandwich with ham, turkey, salami, and provolone cheese. Always whole-grain wheat bread.

I could keep going, but I think you get the point. I like things simple and plain. I don't like food with too many flavors at once. I think my senses get overwhelmed or something and my body just decides to get rid of it instead of trying to decipher what the fuck it's experiencing. And I don't like things with too creamy or slimy of a texture, so most of the time I prefer light sauce or just none at all. I don't dip anything in any kind of condiments.

For what it's worth, it's not just food for me. I have a hard time handling any kinds of strong odors or even just sensations in general. I physically cannot clean a cat's litterbox without holding my breath the entire time. I'm also get extremely uncomfortable when I'm wet, especially my hands. When I take a shower, I usually feel like shit for about an hour afterwards no matter how much time I spend drying off.

It fucking sucks.

I'm a very picky eater. But not because I want to be. I actually find it pretty frustrating. And the potential embarrassment it could cause makes me avoid eating dinner at friends' houses or at restaurants where I haven't been before and I'm not sure what menu items I'll be able to stomach.

The problem is that my body, for some ungodly reason I cannot fathom, decides to react violently and immediately whenever I taste certain flavors or even just certain textures. Some smells alone (such as vinegar and most seafood) are often enough to make me gag. If you give me a french fry that's been dipped in ketchup, I will literally puke on the spot. I won't even make it as far as swallowing. My body just says "nope" and it's over.

I've tried all kinds of things to get over it or just suppress it, but nothing's worked. It's made me paranoid of trying anything new, which has of course only made it even worse and narrowed my food options even further over the years. Hell, even some things I used to absolutely love will now make me sick to my stomach. Like I couldn't get enough of my mom's mac & cheese when I was a kid. Give me 1 spoonful now and I'll be dry heaving into the garbage bin within seconds. That one's not the flavor, though, it's the texture. It's too...I dunno..."slimy" I guess? Doesn't quite feel like the right word, but I don't know how to describe it.

And before anybody asks, it's got nothing to do with allergies.

You're not supposed to like him in the Greek pantheon games. That's kind of the point. He's just a raging animal lashing out against the gods that repeatedly screwed him over. The gods were not good people. And just because you're fighting against something horrible doesn't mean you are inherently better yourself.

The newest installment is meant to show that he's trying to change. He's trying to let go of his anger and just live peacefully with his son. Then the gods screw him over again, and he has to go back on the rampage, but this time he's not doing it out of revenge or hatred. He's doing it to protect someone else. And he's much more measured and rational about it.

Frankly, I think he's a fantastic character.

I remember that part of my history class pretty vividly because we had a really great teacher. He was an older guy, and was around 10 years old at the time of the bombings. He of course started the section off with the basic facts and what lead up to it. Overall that part went mostly "this sucked really hard, but we felt we had to do it to end the war, and in doing so it probably saved a lot more lives than it took in the end."

It felt very generic and dispassionate for that first day. Almost deliberately so. Then I remember coming in the next day and he started the class off with some words that have stuck with me to this day. "Ok, so you know a bit about what happened and a bit about why it happened. But now I want you to understand who it happened to. Because it wasn't the Japanese military. It was people like you. People like your mom and dad. Like your brothers and sisters. Like your best friends. Imagine if everyone you know and love was gone in an instant. I won't tell you if it was justified or not. That's something you have to decide for yourself. But I want you to understand the cost."

We then spent the next 3 days reading and talking about stories from survivors.

Area 51 was one of my favorites. There was an Area 51 cabinet in the arcade at the bowling alley when I was a kid and I got so damn good at that game. Had all the enemy spawns, powerups, and hidden bonuses memorized. I would regularly get a dozen kids crowding around watching me destroy the game. Sometimes I'd even pay for a second player and dual-wield the light guns. XD

And although I know it's kind of shit overall, I'll always have a soft spot for the old House of the Dead games, too.

Oh hell yes, Dragon's Dogma 2!!!!

I put a couple hundred hours into the first one (Dark Arisen version). What a fantastic game. Funnily enough, the Bitterblack Isle portion is actually what got me into the Dark Souls games, too. I tried a couple times to get into DS before then but it just never did it for me. Then I found Dragon's Dogma and had such a good time with it. And once I got to that endgame island, I absolutely fell in love with the atmosphere of the place which was so clearly heavily influenced by the DS games. And the step up in difficulty was both noticeable and welcome at that point. When I finally finished up DD I just wanted more, so I gave Dark Souls another shot and it finally clicked.

That will absolutely be a day-1 purchase for me. And I don't do that very often these days.

The Empires version side of each game basically takes the normal series games and turns them into a Risk-lite kind of game. Capture territories via the usual battles of the DW franchise (albeit generally smaller in scale), but add a bit of surface-level diplomacy and resource management, to eventually take control of all of China.

Being really big into computers and tech growing up, I always loved just browsing through the place and seeing all the crazy components and gadgets. But the store itself always struck me as being really run-down and cluttered. Like it felt as if it was some local business with a huge store because of a few good years, but the success hadn't continued and they had just let the place fall apart and were barely making ends meet now. I had absolutely no idea until I was in my 20's that it was such a significant name in tech and having a store location so close was actually a genuinely massive deal.

I will say they seem to have stepped up their cleaning a bit recently at the store near me. It's actually a pretty clean and tidy store now.
