Although this doesnt include Steam achievements, I assumed this topic was just for console.

+2009 words, I'm now at 12695. I got over an awkward hump (that I'll definitely need to make major revisions to) and managed to start writing something I actually wanted to. It's probably a bit out of sync with how the story has gone so far, but that's probably not a bad thing, considering how iffy a lot of what I've written is. It actually feels like there's a bit of decent characterization there. Something sorely needed in the rest of what I've written.

Its not like they even spent long on it when they taught it, at least not that I can recall. It wasnt important enough that it took, I only remember a few of the simplest letters. Maybe try and get people to know how to sign their names, and thats about it.

+1870 words, at 8869 words. I'm behind, and I know I'm behind, but I just have to accept it. If I can accept that my first draft is gonna have poor pacing, poor description, awkward dialogue, maybe bad everything, then I can accept that I'll often be behind. Truth of the matter, if I have just one day where I really go off, then I'll basically back on track. As it is, I manage over the 1667 words each day when I do knuckle down, so I should catch up anyway.

If it wasnt a limited thing, it might not be too worrisome, but its pretty bad.

Day 31: Risk

I'll go ahead and say I had another idea for Risk and actually worked on it for a decent while... but maybe it was too risky for GameFAQs. Which was the point, but I felt there were too many adjustments to make, so I went for something different.

I'm not sure if I really improved participating in Inktober, but it was nice to actually complete it. I've tried it before, but always lost steam. I haven't been drawing super long, relatively speaking, but long enough that I should probably be better than I am if I really focused on practicing. It was nice to do something like this, and stay mostly consistent. As Seph said, I might not have been able to keep up with it without this topic, or as history would show, I definitely wouldn't. I've also really enjoyed seeing how everyone took each prompt, it's really interesting.

Off topic, but NaNoWriMo is now here. It's nothing I ever attempted, because it just seemed like a lot. And maybe it still is. But I suppose if I managed to do this, then I don't see why I couldn't do the other? Haven't planned much of anything, but if I don't try, I won't get anywhere. It's sort of appropriate my last drawing is a comic, the intermediary between art and writing.

Day 29: Patch

Patch (of grass). I added the orange filter (gradient) right at the end. I think it probably improved it, it's kind of a shortcut for shading though. I feel like it can also cover smaller mistakes, which I suppose is a good and bad thing.

By the way I had to resize this like 15 times to get GameFAQs to accept it, even though on my end it said it was decently below 4GB.

Day 28: Crispy

I actually kinda like the coloring of the fire, but I'm dissatisfied with pretty much everything else. I barely know how to do shading, so weird lighting due to the fire felt like too much, so I just didn't bother shading at all, pretty much. Not sure the expression is what I was going for originally, I couldn't get it to fit the face right, so I ended up with that. Couldn't think of a good background that wouldn't just with the fire, rather than complementing it. I think the whole lighting thing was part of that as well. In retrospect I have a few more ideas. Circle or just custom gradient, perhaps.
