Anyone's distrust is grounded in precedent and reality. Why would anyone trust a health community that locked us down even as Texas, Florida and South Dakota proved lockdowns changed nothing? Why would anyone trust a media that told us for three years that Trump was a Russian spy? Why would we trust health experts who tell us MAGA rallies are super spreader events but BLM riots aren't? The list goes on and on

There are several examples where someone black shot a store employee and/or security guard over masks. I think that may be worse than threatening (as you describe it) healthcare workers. *shrug*.
