Z moves are the only one that actually feels like a natural evolution to the traditional Pokmon gameplay, taking something basic and already established, and expanding upon it. One of the greatest things about Z moves is that they didn't just increase the number of a move's damage output, there was actual utility to them as well. Some moves could have additional effects like debuffing an enemy, or buffing the user or an ally, healing HP or healing status effects, or removing debuffs. There was a LOT of things it could do aside from being a super move. Mega Evolutions felt cool, but gameplay-wise, they were just a mid-battle buff. --- WHO MODS THE MODERATORS? |

I was looking up info on Bulbapedia, and regarding Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, almost every move's description is basically, "This move can't be used in this game. Get rid of it." despite being useable in Sword & Shield. So you can't even bring over other Pokmon and their new moves to enjoy. It's pretty much a solitary, stand-alone experience, cut-off from the rest of the series. --- WHO MODS THE MODERATORS? |
