I PERSONALLY know Seymour is a creepazoid....

But I don't know why the party is all on his case already at this point?

What, his ridiculous hair isn't adequate justification?

It's been a while, but as I recall, Tidus takes an immediate dislike to Seymour and narrates as much. I don't recall anyone else being less respectful toward Seymour than you'd expect them to be toward a generic Maester until Seymour gives them reason to think less of him. Which doesn't take long, really. "That's not something a Maester should say!" "Pretend I didn't say it."

The rule is that Quick Cast stacks unless _everything_ is identical. Quick Cast 3 will stack with High Quick Cast 3, or Quick Magic 3, or Quick Cast 2, or Quick Cast While [Condition=True]. So Raines LMR+ (QC3) and Mog AASB2 (QC for 15 seconds) will stack. On the other hand, consider Mog USB1 (party Atk/Mag/Mnd up and QC3); that's identical to the QC3 from Raines LMR+, so they'd just overwrite one another.

That said, Quick Cast does generally get less valuable as you stack it, since it's shaving off less and less time.

What was wrong with Feint Attack.

No idea. I mean, they didn't cut Swift, Magical Leaf, or Aerial Ace, so it's clear that "this is a 60 power move that always hits" isn't disqualifying.

It looks like they're cutting a lot of early/midgame moves. Like, once you have Earthquake you don't care about Magnitude, once you have Bonemerang/Bone Rush you can ignore Bone Club... but there's generally a lot of gameplay in between. It's always kind of annoying when a Pokmon doesn't have access to STAB. I suppose, now that TMs are reusable (except for the D/P remakes?) they may be expecting those to pick up the slack.

On the flip side, Razor Wind has been useless since day one and I can't say I'm sorry to see it go.

I believe the standard advice for Ramuh was "bring an En-Earth LMR or be able to survive an overkill." His first check is quite early.

Edit: En-Earth Glint+ would also work but would have been less commonly available Back In The Day.

Im also not sure why I was getting hit by his attack that does like 90k (survived with last stand); I thought having the infusion from Reds sync would have prevented that?

If I recall correctly, Ramuh checks your en-element level when he raises his staff, and punishes you for it a couple turns later when he lowers his staff and does the attack.

Naw. I've got, like, four chains to pick before I start thinking about grabbing AASBs, and I don't plan to start taking chains until I start needing them... which, since I've got all the Argent Odins down, will wait until I actually get enthused about trying to take out the Labyrinth superbosses.

Mog AASB1 is not worth getting if you have Cait AASB1. Mog AASB2, however, is a full break counter that works in any realm (unlike Tyro OSB, etc) and that can be honed (unlike Olan Sync.) If you have Dreambreaker Full Break troubles, consider whether Mog AASB2 would help you against them.

I recall that a couple of weeks before Labyrinth Season 2 rolled around, I decided that since I had 100+ Magic Keys, I might as well start opening extra chests in Treasure Paintings until I got down to 50ish. Well, that was a mistake, S2 has devoured what remained of my key stash. I'm generally using a few Record Markers on late S1 dungeons daily in order to acquire enough keys for a S2 manual run. There has never yet been a scenario where I find a Treasure Painting and have to leave without getting the artifact, but there certainly are times now when I choose Red Combat over Exploration, just 'cause Red Combat will never cost a key!

Encounter rates in explorations are definitely lower, though I was getting an absolutely insane number of +2 fatigues with them.

I've read that Season 2 eliminated the potential for exploration to warp you to the next floor (as a temporary thing, it'll be back in Season 3) and I'm wondering if they just redirected those odds into +2 Fatigue.

Fusoya gave the spectacularly terrible advice of needing to kill the CPU's defense core first, but the one time I tried that I died super hard. The next time, I ignored its weak healing and killed everything else and the fight went a whole lot smoother.

If I recall correctly, Fusoya's advice is fine for the SNES version, but didn't get updated to account for this remake's changes to the CPU fight.

The others, including Kain who is quickly forgiven, decide to follow, but first there's an odd scene where Cecil tries to force Rosa and Rydia to leave. They helped you destroy a giant robot, Cecil, they aren't delicate flowers! Thankfully they tell him he's being dumb and come along anyway because I couldn't get anywhere without Rosa's prayers.

Best justification I've seen for that scene is that it's a fake-out to make you think you'll get Fusoya and Golbez as your endgame casters.

anyway augments make this the only version of the game worth playing as you actually are able to customise your party beyond "these are the 5 characters you get for this part of game"

In fairness, FF4 Advance lets you swap party members around for the final dungeon.

I believe the standard approach is to put your support and your chain user in slots 2 and 4, and then hold back any AASBs/etc you're lucky enough to carry until they are killed and revived. Nothing wrong with throwing out a Mog USB1 or the like, though, 'cause it's repeatable.

You've been using Mog AASB2 to counter Ultimate/Dreambreaker Full Break, right? 'Cause if not, -70% to Atk/Def/Mag/Res would make P3 seem absurdly tanky. <_< >_>

(And the +30% Atk/Def/Mag/Res from Mog AASB2 is another reason why Edge shouldn't need Stitch in Time here.)

Edit: tried him once and got him to exactly 30% before timing out. For some reason he seemed tanky as hell; not sure what I was doing wrong.

Have you been invoking the Historia Crystal ASAP? If so, consider trying to save one of the charges for Phase 3, to help deal with his increased Savage Mode damage reduction.

Don't be lax about overwriting Argent Odin's Sap. When he reaches 30% he'll immediately interrupt everything to nuke your party for 99% of their current health and auto-Stun, at which point you get to watch everyone eat a lethal Sap tick. There are ways to get around this, but curing Sap before then is by far the simplest, and most Odins only inflict it 1-2 times per fight (as part of Argent Zantetsuken.)

If you can't spare an Elarra USB, then try to find a slot for Angel Song (5* Bard), Memento of Prayer (3* White), or even Kirin (2* Summon.)

One other issue I had is that it took Mog quite a while to die after getting anti-healed so I had to delay Vayne's rez too. Not sure how to deal with that.

The simple way is to kill him yourself. High-end physical abilities usually can't target anyone on your team, but single-target spells should work.

I just tried Kalvinaka Striker for the first time, and I was unpleasantly surprised to learn that you have to use one of your three Labyrinth Parties. I had figured it'd let you use your "normal" team setups, like the handful of "use your real party here" Record Dungeons. No wonder people are cheesing Labyrinths with fatigue-proof White Magic teams, when you have to scrap a proper three-party rotation in order to try any of the superbosses!

I guess you can also "save" party setups by recording the individual members as Hero Outfits, the system they've built isn't unredeemable, but it is annoying.

Admittedly, I wasn't particularly interested in fighting the Labyrinth Nexus bosses (Treasure Map mission rewards? Gosh, I only have 1000+ of those) so I'm not terribly upset by another excuse to put them off.

Overall, fest tickets got me two new Syncs, three new AASBs, a half dozen other new relics (only two of which I am likely to use, but hey, free stuff) and a pile of crystals. Glad to have 'em!

Tempted to draw once on Banner 5, but I have multiple dupes, and I reckon it's better waiting for the next tier of power creep (Dyad Awakenings or some such.)

I am aware of two ways to use a LBG. Neither involves caring about what its commands are.

1) As a Limit Break Overstrike. Summon it with a full Limit Gauge, immediately use its SB equivalent command, it will do its damage and then go away.
2) To tank one action. If the Guardian's attacks push a Dreambreaker to 40%, then the Dreambreaker Full Break hits the Guardian and not your party - even if the Guardian was using its SB equivalent and is thus unsummoned immediately afterward. You can also bring one out before an Argent Odin "I hate Slots 2&4" turn, wait until the attack comes out, and then activate the Soul Break equivalent to unsummon it.

I am terribly lazy when it comes to dental hygiene, which led to problem teeth. I also have a petty, unreasonable affection for the phrase "endo steel". So, yes, I do have a dental implant. My dentist is of the opinion that I could use a couple more, but my insurance isn't willing to cover more than one (the new implants would be too close together, or something.)

I don't recall the procedure being terribly objectionable, what with anesthetic, although I do recall being disconcerted by the incongruity of A) I can glimpse some of the instruments and feel my head being pushed around a bit and yet B) agony is failing to materialize. The only advice I would give you is to double-check that your insurance agrees with your dentist about what they'll cover.

Actually, how does the team work exactly? If you want all four old men in your party (and presumably a healer) do you just not bring a support and all of the old man synergy effects make up for it?

The one who really cares about having a full Dawn Warriors party is Xezat, and Xezat AASB gives such a team 100% Crit and Crit Damage Up on entry for free. So, he does indeed cover your support requirements. (You'd also want a healer with quick cast, ideally, because Xezat AASB only gives two turns of that.)

I like how the Job Mote events from this festival are weak against the elements their job can use and resistant to the others. Of course, they're still just speedbumps, so I'm using my crystal farming auto-battle team against them anyway. But I do appreciate the thought!

This is my first non-complete-garbage Vivi relic other than his chain, but unfortunately its ice/lightning instead of fire.

I was going to comment that Ultima can count as ice/lightning damage while benefiting from a fire chain (quirky Ultima shenanigans amuse me) but it turns out that Vivi USB3 cares about Black Magic, regardless of element. So if you do end up trying to make it work in a fire party, you can stick with normal fire magic and still get the self-buffs and extra hits.

Without a chain, will the extra hits be worth caring about? ...Probably not so much.

And hey, if you don't have any other relevant relics for Vivi, with USB3 only he's just as not-complete-garbage at water as he is at ice and lightning! (It's been a while, but... did this relic come out around the same time as Voltech? That's the only reason I can think of for random water-element on Vivi.)

Voted "okay". PW segments could be better overall, in particular it annoys me that the game uses Case 2 as a tutorial for Witch Trials and then throws out the Witch Trial rules for Case 4, but they were still fun. I enjoyed the Layton puzzles also, although not enough to actually seek out a proper Layton game. The endgame plot twist was laughably bad, which is much more enjoyable than being unremarkably bad.
