Because that's about the long and short of preachy "political" content I can think of that is in games.

People get offended by sexualized characters, people get offended by minorities or LGBT characters in games, no matter who the developers try to pander to SOMEONE is gonna get offended. It's a lose-lose situation all around.

I just find it funny that people are saying "it should be up to the creators" yet when the creators DON'T make a political statement in their games, people get butt hurt. Can't preach it's up to the creators while also being upset if the creators don't bend to your whims. Anyway, I'm neither for nor against it. I don't particularly care either way.

Only RE4 can come back from a retirement to pick up another GOTY award and it did it through VR. Probably the best way to play it too, go figure.

Having played through RE4 multiple times throughout my life I can never understand the hype behind it. While still a great game in it's own right, RE4 is a bad RE as it is the game that started Resident Evil's decent into the action movie schlock fest of 5, 6 and Operation Raccoon City.

My old high school's library had graphic novels, comics and even manga. I remember in middle school finding a couple Star Wars manga as well.

Yeah, I didn't mind Dewey having to die, but I didn't like the way they executed it. And I agree with the killer's motivation was pretty weak/silly.
But I wholey disagree with the bit about Scream 4. The killer, their reasoning for doing what they're doing, and the whole third act was the saving grace for that movie, imo. I loved that they went in that direction. It fits beautifully with the series' satirical nature, which -- in 4's case -- was themed after horror movie remakes. After watching Scream 2022, I feel like that aspect of Scream 4 would have been so much more effective if they put Sidney in the backseat and had Jill be the defacto protagonist.

Yeah I may have been a little too harsh on ghostface's motives in 4 lol I might actually have to rewatch 4 to see if my opinion changes after having seen 5.

Dewey dying (though it was bound to happen eventually) and the motive behind the killings in 5 soured my opinion on the movie. Didn't think it was possible to make a motive worse than the motive in 4 but they damn well succeeded.

I'm genuinely upset knowing that Dewey dies, even though it was pretty obvious that he was gonna die. Also the reason behind the killings was just as fucking bad as the reasoning behind the killings in 4,

Been a fan of Scream since first watching it on VHS at the age of 5 back in 98. It was my first R-rated movie too lol. The twist in 4 where the killer was Sidney's cousin, and she only did it because she was jealous of how famous Sidney got due to her run-ins with the ghostface killer and she wanted to become that famous was really fucking stupid. Until that twist, 4 was good, but after, it soured how I felt about it. For me, the order of most to least favorite goes 1 = 2 > 3 > 4. So basically with each Scream movie after 2, the less I enjoyed it. I'm fully expecting 5 to continue that trend honestly, unless the twist is amazing enough to warrant a 5th movie.

2 still holds up from what I remember of my last playthrough of it. Then again that was 5 years ago so.... >.>

He was caught out lying to me about a key not working & asking for another game. I checked his profile, key did work and because I had a minor suspicion he had an alt in the topic, I checked for the games I'd sent the alt and boom, they were on Aki's account.

Told him he was a liar in PM and I knew his deal, didn't go nuts though, just 'blacklisted' him from my own giveaways in the topics and he went scorched earth on his accounts, deleted me from Steam and made his profile private as a result.

Basically, taking advantage of people's kindness to try to snag as many games as they possibly could

Thank you for the prize. These will be fun to take turns playing over the next few months. Boy did I end up with a huge backlog from the event!

Counting both Steam gifts and keys, my backlog increased by like 12 games. Luckily some of the games I got a great for short burst play so I can play them in between the bigger games.

The first time you split one down the middle it will feel soooooo good. But when in doubt run away, and use the traps to your advantage.

It's just annoying because I was trying to do the sidequest to kill the "troll" and I kept getting swarmed by them >~> that was with using camo to my advantage they'd still get in the way.

I've been playing Dying Light (on normal mind) and I'm seriously hating the Virals >~> they come outta nowhere, are fast and they seem to always gang up on me. Plus I just had one pop up in front of me as I fired off an explosive arrow, blowing myself (and that asshole) sky high. Fuck Virals >~>

thanks!! I've played some of the first Unravel . Can play them both now. The developer seemed very invested in the project, years ago, so I bought it day 1

Not really a big fan of Doom 3, the switch over to trying to be a horror game kinda fell flat imo. They also butchered the shotgun :( that said, Doom 3 was still a fun game and well worth a playthrough. Especially if you're playing the BFG edition that fixed my main issue with the original release of Doom 3, the flashlight XD

Hello everybody.

It's the morning of new years eve here. Got the weekly shopping to do and then getting a start on installing my new router and AP's throughout the house and outside. Hopefully have it all finished before this evening.

What do you have planned for this NYE?

My NYE will consist of light drinking with friends before ringing in the New Year on Animal Crossing, after that I'll probably play some Project Zomboid for a couple hours before inevitably passing out for the night

Random question that I probably can just find out on the Steam page but.... I wanted to get Aliens: Colonial Marines Collection.

I know this game was bugged at first, there was some line of code or something that they fucked up on and it made the AI stupid or whatever.

Does anyone know if this is patched properly in the version available on Steam?

I don't really know? Now don't quote me on this because I could just be pulling this out of my ass for all I know but I thought I heard about a mod that was supposed to have fixed the AI but I don't think the game was ever officially patched to fix it. Like I said, I'm probably wrong with that info though so take it with a giant grain of salt.

Oh also I still have some steam keys for some....questionable quality games for whomever wants 'em.

Honestly same, it's tied with RE2 Remake as being my favorite RE game. Need to eventually get around to RE Village but I'm holding off on that until they remove Denuvo from it, if they haven't already. I've heard it causes some pretty bad performance.

I've heard good things about that series but i've never played it myself.

From what I can remember of Calamity Trigger it was a pretty high quality 2D fighter. Great art and music. Sunk like 1000 hours or so into it before kinda dropping Blazblue and proper fighting games as a whole. This is the first time in YEARS that I've played a proper fighting game.
