When Nadirah Pierce picked her kids up from IC Kids in Newton last Tuesday and learned of the project, she pulled them out of the school. This is unacceptable and dont really understand the concept of this project, Pierce told NBC Boston. Pierce called an apology posted to the school's Facebook page "disheartening." The school has since deactivated the Facebook page and posted a statement on the door, saying the teacher involved was fired, NBC Boston reported. To celebrate black history month, a teacher in toddler classroom at IC Kids planned and carried out an activity that involved black masks blackface. One of the parents brought it to our attention and was offended; The teacher apologized to the parent, the statement read. The teacher has been released from her employment, the statement said. IC Kids Newton did not respond to NBC News' requests for comment on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the school closed over safety concerns, the statement said. "Hearing of protests happening at the center will put the children and staff at risk," it said. NBC Boston did not see any protesters at the school on Monday. That anti-black train in education is never late, and it begins early. Black pre-schoolers are 3 to 4 times more likely to be suspended, have encounters with police than their white counterparts, so I am not surprised at this story. This is why I'm so glad that I spent most of my K-12 years with a mostly black faculty that cared about us and we learned real black history. I feel for these children that get singled out by dumbasses like this teacher. There are elements that want us to have an authoritarian government and have been baking that cake for 50 years, Trump just gave them a reason to go full mask off. The Republicans are a white nationalist party masquerading as a governing party. They see the demographic future on the horizon and are trying to cement white minority rule by picking away at the Voting Rights Act until it's a husk and make the process of voting arduous. Homegrown facism getting a serious hold is not out the question. It's a bull breed mutt. Banning all short muzzled breeds is an overreaction, efforts should be placed on promoting health testing and discouraging breeders from breeding for these extreme physical traits in the first place. Bulldogs used to be a working breed, now it can't even run 40 yards without passing out and can't give birth without c-sections. Anytime you breed based on appearance rather than performance and health you're going to have issues. What's next for Norway?
