Metal Gear Solid 4 is a good call. I love the game, but probably wouldn't if I hadn't played the others.

It's definitely Fiji (#2) of those.

Some of these sure are more human-like than others. I don't think Abra should be here, Kadabra definitely not.

I spent a good bit of time on the Donkey Kong game in Nintendo Land. That's probably the biggest thing missing for me lol.

Smash 4 is obviously by far the best game not ported, it's just not needed.

Also Color Splash was fine, not too much more than that.

Yeah, Brendan is friendly and you only fight him 3 or 4 times, the last of which is between the 6th and 7th gym and still has him without a fully evolved starter.

It's still hilarious that a Wii U game was remastered for Switch and is now above 50 million copies sold being among the very best selling games ever.

I liked the idea of a conflict that's more than one side against you but also against each other. Score is based on Emerald where it works best. Perhaps ORAS could bump it up a little bit with the postgame, but it's cancelled by returning to RS otherwise. It's not great, but most Pokmon games doesn't have that. I don't think the story got in the way of anything.

I heavily doubt there would be a clear favorite. Aaron probably would have been, bit recently he hasn't looked as good despite being a division winner last time. Vivi might be more favored at this point. Based on last contest, Geralt and Bayonetta looks like alright bets, 2B also pretty decent, but all those three might be recency bias like how Dante would be in the talks a decade ago.

All jokes aside, I really enjoyed the contest during the first major lockdown.

Twitch plays Pokmon was so much fun that Omanyte takes it.

This game is great. I spend a lot of time doing almost nothing.

You picked the right 2013 match. Annoying as it was. Zack vs. Ryu was heavily debated and those of us that correctly got Zack > Ryu got no points, while the ones getting the whole order wrong got some.

It's definitely the Vercetti match though.

Sword and Shield were excellent in terms of new Pokemon, but just felt unfinished. The core formula is strong, so I like them, but the potential is much higher and a step back in a few aspects.

These kinds of topics happened every now and then, it's a joy!

So the common sentiment is TPC has massively under-advertised this game. As in, they were waaay too conservative in how much they've kept hidden in promo material.

Well, the past many games people complained about no surprise features, so I guess that makes sense.

Yeah, you can turn off the dynamic split screen, but it's at the cost of having split screen always, even when you're close to each other. You can't turn off split screen completely. At least that's how it has been in the games where I've tried it.

If the God of War sequel is close in strength to the first and BotW2 doesn't come out, it would be a decent bet.

I played some of that one too, gameplay felt pretty slow. Also played Lego Movie and some of Jurrasic World. Can't remember the order of them, but in any case, they all felt uninspired and quite lacking in game design as you moved, idk, slow? They also had a lot less charm, think I preffered having no voice acting.

Also might be a personal preference, but I dislike their way of implementing split screen down the line. You could originally just not move too far away from each other and that was better imo, because now the screen splits if you move too far away and the split moves around like crazy when you move. Unless you're close enough for it to not appear or very far from each other, I found this to be a huge nuisance and since I mostly played these as coach co-op, it killed a good bit of the enjoyment for me.

Haven't been following too closely - do we know if affection is in the game and if yes, if it's merged with happiness still?

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga was great, but lego games in general has been downhill for a long time. I'll give this a chance.

It's a shame the rest of them has to be electric and has to have no evolution. In particular because I find then all somewhat boring though Emolga is the only one I dont like. I appreciate them trying to give new typings from gen V but they're less cute.

Avalugg is probably still defensively built despite a typing that's a defensive nightmare.
