I have it because bundle but I never felt that compelled to play it.

I like that stuff. Incomprehensible unnatural threats that create a creeping dread. I guess it's explained sometimes but that doesn't inherently ruin it.

I figured, I'm just emphasizing how his stuff has that pop culture status where people know about it without having seen it. I've barely watched movies for a long time but these do seem like ones I'd like to see.

I haven't even seen his movies but I know they have twists. In fact I know what some of the twists for the previous two are.

I'm sure this is what no one is looking for from this series, but Foul Play is a better implementation of the style of gameplay found in Burst and I assume 2 since it's also on 3DS. They both are long-combo beat-em-ups where you juggle groups of enemies high into the air and use special moves to maintain your momentum.

I played a bunch of Burst once. Surprisingly good story and characters! Gameplay gets old.

It is an Ok game for its time. Not a 'fantastic' game that 'everyone' should get like OP states. All the sudden hyperbole love that a so so game is getting showered is amusing just because it is getting a remake and localization after over two decades. This really shows how people jump on a bandwagon when it comes to these things.

Stuff like 7th Saga and Secret of Evermore will likely also get the same treatment if this happens. A fresh coat of paint doesn't suddenly make an ok or simply a good game from its time an all time classic all of a sudden.

Yeah but I've heard 7th Saga is a brutal ordeal and my experience with Evermore is largely miserable. This at least seems to be liked by most people who played it.

So I hear. Come to think of it this problem can be solved by critics and word of mouth once the remake is out.

I've never played Live a Live but I'm familiar with its premise and cult popularity. What they're doing with it is certainly a full remake, obviously not with the production values of FFVII Remake, but presumably with fewer differences from the original. Voice-acting, some all-new graphics, things that take time and money. I'm just concerned that it might be seen as a collection of a handful of short, lightweight RPGs for $50. But I don't know if the original already surpasses that idea.

I thought SquareEnix was carrying it with Front Mission, Chrono Cross, Live a Live and then they stopped for 15 minutes to play volleyball.

Souls+ seems like a good answer. I've seen plenty of people extoll the greatness of DS2 or say that DS1 is the best but DS1R is unspeakable filth etc.

I'm going to agree it's basically impossible at degree 4.

I really should get back on track with the series. The fear of PS1-era jank along with the inflexibility of what you needed to clear the last one resulting in a bunch of corrective grinding doesn't make VII that inviting, but then it's on to the much-hyped VIII. The other problem is there's no shortage of RPGs and they're all timesinks.

They're okay. It's hard for any monsters in that series to match the charisma of the humble slime.

I was going to say the Souls+ series doesn't really have traversal upgrades. Just weapons, magic and shortcuts to be unlocked.

I like "exploration action" more than "search action" anyway.

Basically except it's not a sidescroller.

Even if Fusion sometimes blocks your path with story progression, you still spend most of your time exploring unknown territory to find the next big upgrade. Like Adam may tell you "Go to Sector 5 and kill the boss who has the Super Missile ability" and lock all the other elevators but then you have to find it in Sector 5, most of which is unmapped, and then story happens and you have to find a different route than the one going through straightforward hallways.

-Healing items that replenish at checkpoints
-Behind-the-character camera
-Stamina meter for attacking, evading, blocking, running... Not just running, though.

-Hard
-You drop exp/money when you die. Maybe you can pick it up if you go to the same place before dying again.

The ending is fine, as far as I could tell. Not sure what makes it a "bad ending". As for the grind I don't know what it's like if you try maxing everything in NG but I was not that far through NG+ before maxing forms and hitting the level cap without grinding. I never upgraded all abilities but you don't even need to for achievements.

Nothing is backwards-compatible with PS3, and PS4 controller support is missing full game compatibility, rumble, home button and motion control, as well as the less-frequently-used analog face buttons because the DS4 doesn't have them. OEM controllers are unobtainable new or used. Market is flooded with convincing knockoffs. So then which third-party product is best if you need a working controller for PS3?

Does that seem like a Full Throttle topic title? This plot concept has been used a lot over the years in sci-fi and fantasy alike. This reminds me of the James Bond thing, except James Bond is arguably a character who's meant to be a specific person throughout the stories and Doctor Who is canonically a title that has been passed down to multiple characters in that setting.

Yeah, I'm not sure love is a "theme" in Donkey Kong when there's barely a story or non-combat interaction between characters, much less dialog or the portrayal of emotions. What is there is concise and charming, but comparing it to something like Mother (apparently) it seems like over-analysis to say much of anything about a part of it other than gameplay or aesthetics.

No, no. It's a PS4 game. You can't run PS4 games on Switch, so they have to be streamed from The Cloud. The fact that it's a PS4 port of a PS3 remaster of a PS2 game is irrelevant.

I don't play Fortnite either, but I feel like I have more reason I'd want to than with Roblox.
