swapped to Lance after hitting HR. i'm dying somewhat less often but it's very slow

i've been using the free super armour the game gave me, but what's a good gearset to go for in HR for Lance and Bow?

separate gearsets is fine, that's what loadouts are for!

Diablos isn't as bad in Rise because practically every weapon has some sort of counter to deal with all its charges and huge swings. Digging is still a troll move though. I know screaming at it interrupts it, but messing with items is such a pain when your weapon is out and World's slinger is only a little smoother.

Anyway yeah, complete all the special sidequests you can, even if the stated reward isn't that appealing, cuz they might unlock other quests with rewards you do want.

oh don't worry, i have been doing sidequest after sidequest until there aren't any left to do and i have to progress the main quest

Also, something that might be obvious is that you should do as many optional quests and bounties as you possibly can. You want to unlock as much stuff as you possibly can and talk to NPCs in the field whenever you're able. In particular, you want the Botanical Research Center fully upgraded because you can start pumping out a ton of ingredients to make Mega Potions and Max Potions.

i'm using the botanical center to make ingredients for tranq bombs and shock traps. unless i get the ability to buy them in the future. but i still don't have the ability to grow more than 2 different things at the moment.

i almost made a topic for this, glad i actually searched. i picked world on pc back up on a new save and i'm trying light bow gun instead of my usual hammer and i'm having a blast.

awesome. i swapped to heavy bowgun. i think i'm on the quest to hunt a pukei-pukei. kinda been distracted with clan raids in Destiny 2 though.

But i might dip more into this again before the weekend.

you can respec in all of them but 1 and bloodborne. requires a consumable item in all of them

can you even respec in Bloodborne?

i've respecced a few times in the games that allow it when i find a new weapon type that i really like the moveset of but has different stat scaling.

i usually start as a magic user though.

Currently going thru a nostalgia run in FFX. Insane how even in the remaster they don't let you skip cutscenes though

yeah one of the things keeping me from going back to it. never got past a certain point in the game and then my save got corrupted and i try to go back but it's just so slow

Consider switching to bow. You can dodge while charging your shot and it actually grants you a bonus charge, so you're heavily incentivized to stay at midrange and dodge as much as you want. Plus if you're solo at lower HR the bow's rock-rain thing does some stun damage.

i kinda want to try one of the bowguns. never used them before.

man, i suck at dodging.

and i'm kinda just spamming the same move over and over... Y+Y+Y+RT, then B+Y+Y+RT

Ever played Greatsword? I just did a playthrough with it and it was a blast. Those big hits are so satisfying to land.

If you try it, make sure you learn tackle early on for super armor and a shortcut into True Charge Slash and slinger burst into True Charge Slash. Two of the best tools.

nah when i played years ago i mostly got carried through things by a friend who's godly at MH.

unfortunately there was some drama (i don't actually know what happened, it was unrelated to me afaik) and they cut off everyone from the friend group.

I worked at my uncle's water bottling place for a summer once, then i delivered pizza and worked construction. after that was a warehouse job, then when i lost that job i worked at mcdonalds for a while.
