Luck to be a landlord was amazing. I really have despised poker/solitaire or whatever my entire life but I'm a huge sucker for roguelikes, so I'll have to try this one.

No cooking classy is the Americanized pad Thai. I mean it is sweet but I thought it was pretty balanced by the lime and fish sauce. Some people will add Sriracha for an extra kick.

As for Pho I loved the one I've had, though I have mine with chicken instead of beef. If you like fresh veggies you'll love it, It's got lots of bean sprouts, green onions, thai basil, etc.

Tamarind is hard to describe, Google says sweet and sour but that doesn't tell you much. It's a pretty unique flavor.

You're right, she certainly has some kind of severe mental health problems to be this neglectful, more than just depression. And maybe if she was given the right health care and warning signs about this behavior were acted on, this horrific accident wouldn't have happened. From my experience, most Thai places I have been make authentic Pad Thai. Its places like Noodles and Company that sell a more American Pad Thai without the tamarind paste, like this:

• 10 oz Thai rice noodles
• 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, sliced into small strips, or 1 lb extra large shrimp, peeled and deveined
• 2 Tbsp vegetable oil
• 1/4 cup packed dark-brown sugar
• 1/4 cup soy sauce
• 2 Tbsp rice vinegar
• 1 Tbsp lime juice
• 1 Tbsp fish sauce
• 1 red bell pepper, sliced into thin strips and strips halved
• 1 1/2 cups matchstick carrots
• 2 cloves garlic
• 5 green onions, whites minced, greens sliced into 1-inch pieces
• 2 cups bean sprouts
• 3 large eggs
• 1/2 cup unsalted peanuts, chopped
• 1/3 cup cilantro, chopped
• Red pepper flakes and sesame seeds (optional)

^The perfect PT imo. Fish Sauce and the lime are amazing flavor bombs without tamarind!

Im all about Authentic food but Pad Thai is the one rarely instance I prefer the Americanized version of the dish, I cant stand Tamarind paste.
