The topic of rerunning characters has come up a few times and it has always been shut down (Theon Greyjoy and Walter White have both been brought up as characters who warrant reassessment). Frankly I'm still vehemently against it, at least as far as the official results are concerned. I could maybe be persuaded into agreeing to a "side" list of characters who have a legitimate reason to score significantly differently at this point, and Barbie would be a prime candidate for that.side sure, or Barbie 2 as a separate listing --- No mule can match wits with me. Oh yes, many have tried, and almost all have failed! |

I'd say Wheel of a Time is basically a magical equivalent of Nuclear War.I won't disagree ultimately, but a lot of how Wheel of Time feels is like a gradual, general decay after the actual war. It'd been 3000 years, which is plenty of time to recover after a crisis, but the world was more primitive at the beginning of the series than at any point in like the last 2700 years. The war shattered society, but the loss of knowledge and breakdown of the world and of nature due to the Dark One straining at his prison walls feels more fundamental to the vibe of the world, which I'd say falls a lot into my category (particularly in the later books where nature is palpably failing and the savior is breaking) --- List the ominous stern whisper from the delphic cave within: They enslave their children's children who make compromise with sin |
