In the starting stages of the relationship I was so emotional stunted, my reluctance to say things like "I love you" was compensated for with actions/showing it...Figured any idiot could say it over a webcam, but in LDR showing it means more. As I opened up it got easier to say it. Joanne was very patient/dedicated - the dutch tend to be competent at english, but Joanne damn near mastered it over the course of the relationship.

I spoke of her here as she was long distance, and lived with Smith-Magenis syndrome, so wanted to spread awareness while giving a positive perspective into LDR. I met her in the game animal crossing new horizons during covid, and after her passing i began documenting my grief by telling our 3 year romance story - my final birthday present to the first woman i ever loved.

It's thanks to Joanne that I am a better man than i was before, and I have even found another love, so continue to spread her message of never giving up hope for romance. It can come from the most unexpected place when you open your mind, and expand your horizons.

Not in the mood for FPS - Hell, I played the first level of doom eternal over half a year ago.

I'm no slacker, but in between calls I terraformed my island in Animal Crossing New Horizons during lockdown. Finished my project in like 3 shifts.

Also, was playing Huniepop 2. Doing the match 3 was so chill, and made time fly by.

It's a godsend for games that aren't demanding.

Holy shit...forgot how brutal her deaths are for failing. Just started, and looks like last time i played it was 2020 - It feels new again, and the game looks damn good.

Watched it, and it's watchable IMO comparing to the original. Iroh, Azula, and sokka are standouts, and though it isn't saying much the fighting puts the last airbender movie to shame.

Show genuine interest in her day, and a convo will come from that, but...

Loosen up, and tell some jokes. The worst thing you can be is boring, so opt for your quirky side to catch her off guard at these strange hours, and utilize your talent as that's where your confidence will come from. You're good at something.

Honestly, the second she said the thing about the pictures would have started fucking with her with funny selfies with those vampire hours. Keep them guessing.

It obviously varies person to person, so I can only give my personal account, but for me, it was matter of size.

When I moved out, of my parents house, I was in a 1 bedroom apartment. My GF (who eventually became my wife) moved in, and once we realized we were in it for the long haul, knew we needed a larger place.

Any apartment with 2 or more bedrooms STARTED at $2000 (and this was back in 2005), but a mortgage at the time was $1700. We (thankfully) had a decent amount of money saved up to use towards a down payment, so it was a no brainer for us. 2 bedroom for $2000, or 4 bedroom,2 bathroom house for $1700.

Yes, there are added expenses in owning a home, but I'm pretty handy and can fix 75-80% of the problems that occur in my house.

Plus, If we were to decide to move, we'd make a pretty hefty profit when selling. As opposed to living decades in an apartment, leaving, and getting none of the investment back.
