Is there a significant like thematic or narrative reason for this twist by the way. I think you only learn it from piecing together codec conversations?

A few that I could gather

While you could say that Ocelot and Big Boss were together at the beginning of it all, Ocelot being the son of Big Boss's greatest influence just brings them together that much more. Also, despite The Boss's sacrifice and being branded as a traitor to the US (besides to the ones in the know), it serves as a kind of cool foil that Ocelot, who was a thorn in BB's side for all of MGS3, was actually a US agent himself working as undercover for Russia.

Also, despite his codename being Ocelot, him being born and leaving his mother with a snake shaped scar for the C-section kind of adds to the cool, constant Snake themes throughout the games.

I'm a bit confused tho. On Netflix it's titled Hajime No Ippo The Fighting and it's 76 episodes. Says 2013 on it too. But googling it it says it released in 2000. So...is this not the original or?

I think she did just enough. She was the stern but caring mentor in the beginning that sacrifices herself for you and she also served as a plot device to tie in the Naytibas = maybe not so bad?
