Scariest anime of the season.

That was definitely the episode where I could really feel it. It was a good episode, but the back half felt rushed. I imagine a ton was cut around that stuff specifically. So far there's been no other episodes that feel like stuff was cut within them, but you never know.

Only one volume of the LN is out, since it started publishing after the show started, it'll probably be a while before we see! And who knows when they'll publish those over here, we haven't even gotten the first Witch from Mercury novel over here (though Bandai is it's own problem...)

Firefly makes her own Super Break Damage now in the current beta, which doesn't seem to stack. You still get great Break buffs, but she's not as important in a Firefly team as she once when the 2.3 beta first started.

Also there's the extra note here that Jellyfish, despite being an anime original, is technically adapted from the scripts for Yuki Yaku's still publishing novels. He's already talked about stuff that had to be cut from the show but will be expanded upon there. There's probably going to be a LOT of content there that we didn't see here given that over a year has passed in the story.

It's POSSIBLE to imagine a full ending to this in 2 episodes, especially if the Kiui episode next week is also heavily a Mahiru episode, but have a full reconciliation and ending the show after that in just episode 12....we'll see, maybe it will work out. Obviously MyGO has a rushed ending and I've still fallen into an unhealthy obsession with that, but that was with a season 2 on the horizon to take into consideration.

I will say, as a blanket response to all that since at this point were just interpreting characters differently I think, that I agree that the ending looks worrisome even if it's for different reasons. I do not see a path for a satisfying ending in 2 episodes. I am banking everything on a season 2 announcement.

I'm not trying to be mean, but I think literally every single thing you said is wrong, some of it just factually inaccurate and some of it just being a confusing way to approach narrative.

Something not being immediately addressed in full in the next episode does not mean it's being ignored, especially when other parts of the issue ARE still the focus of the episode. Something not being spelled out to your face directly doesn't mean it was out of nowhere and not set up, they've been hinting at this issue for most of the series. The in-show chat shows almost everyone was still streaming and heard Kano's words at the end and we're happy about it. Kiui had friends in school that she just didn't talk to anymore, and this is one of them.

That said, I'm really glad you spelled out your issues, me disagreeing doesn't mean they aren't valid if that's how you feel about them. I've called a show shit for half a decade in the past because it didn't look like my ship was endgame, everyone has things they get passionate about.

On a read back I feel like this may be coming off as condescending, but I swear that's not my intention. If anything I wish this topic has more stuff like this, I feel like we barely ever actually meaningfully discuss anime in actuall....discussions.

It's absolutely miniscule details like this peppered all through GBC that assist in proving how much passion was put into this show. A completely benign detail on screen for less than a second.

I thought a bit during the week of all the ways they could continue after last episode, but they managed to find a different way that was worse than all of them put together. What an absolute dumpster fire. I went into this episode only hating Yoru and exited it hating everyone.

This one I can't even begin to understand lol. Everyone was either so incredibly endearing this episode or was tragic, Mei in particular was so earth shatteringly heartfelt, cried watching an anime for the second time with week.

A testament to how legitimately great the first 90% of that series is, as well as how memorable the last 10% is.

I think it legitimately has the best ending of any anime ever, no matter how much of an entertaining clusterfuck everything leading up to it was.

If anything is surprising to me it's how has Code Geass managed to maintain its popularity through all these years.

Despite having the same path as Eureka Seven and putting out a bunch of side shit afterwards that nobody wants in the process!

I think the Code Geass experience was just too unforgettable, though. I regularly stayed up until 4 in the morning to watch steamed raws of episodes at 240p. That's how I first saw THE Euphie scene.

I don't know if the experience of watching Geass as it was airing can ever be properly replicated. Nowadays people try and pop off like that for shit like JJK episodes.....bitch it's a fucking manga I read that years ago. Almost all the anime that gets diehards like that nowadays already has a source material.

Also people still watch and bring up Soup Store religiously which keep Geass forever in our hearts.

After the first 3 or 4 episodes of Jobless Reincarnation I was pretty vocal that it was the biggest waste of money and talent in anime history. I truly hated it.

Then some time later I watched through all of Season 1 and was just in awe of how good it was.

I've cooled a bit on it from season 2. There are definitely some extremely off putting scenes and episodes here and there, still. But BOY was that last slightly over half of season 1 fucking excellent.

Oh of course it's not low in the grand scheme of things, but Fate/Zero used to top lists like this, or close to it, say, 5 years ago.

Very surprised to see Fate/Zero has fallen so low. I was literally just watching clips 2 nights ago and reminiscing about how incredible it is. Feels like there was a time Reddit would have had it in the top 5.

Surprised Eighty Six is ranked so high up at #28. I've only read the books, it didn't feel like the anime was really making an impact?

This will be earned in a quest. Maybe the eidolons will as well, we'll have to see how that works.

The quest you earn this March form will actually unlock much earlier in the game for newer players, 1.3 or earlier.
