So I saw someone saying there's rumors that this is open world? As in... you don't pick up a quest to go kill a Rathian... you actually need to explore, learn where Rathians live, and then go to that region and look for clues which will give you the quest on the spot if you want it. Anyone know if there's any truth to that? Because if they're really emphasizing the "hunt" part in a massive zone with biomes you naturally explore and unlock that sounds incredible, but it also sounds like way, way more than the MH devs have ever attempted.

It comes with a sling that can carry a back-up weapon, so you're able to bring two weapons with you into any hunt.

Hooray! Now I no longer have to struggle between going big raw damage hammer and playing the Meta with something that's good for dealing elemental damage. Or I could bring a cutting weapon and a blunt weapon for maximum part breaking. Or hunting horn and Hammer for two times the spin to win.

No wirebugs. I'm not sure what the community will think of that. The new guy looks like a desert Pukei, leaving me to wonder if we're getting a lot of new desert creatures or if they're creating desert variants. Like... maybe the bear is just a "wilds" Arzuros. If that's the case, though, I'm really not looking forward to meeting Wild's Kezhu in 4k.

Pit traps look better than they ever have if that's what we saw in the 4 player hunt. It looks like maybe the new gimmick is some kind of weapon out sprint that lets you get back into the action.

I think most people who hate Dave Matthew's Band only say so because it's popular to say you hate the band.

Did they actually accomplish anything other than immediately pissing everyone off the second they were announced by declaring that voice chat non-inclusive and unfair in competitive play?

TC, you need to keep in mind that a lot of people on GameFAQs don't have anything like a traditional moral compass. Good or bad is a direct by-product of the victim and the cause. To them it's not a double standard because their standard has nothing to do with whether it's acceptable to body shame people and all to do with whether the person being body shamed deserves it.

I get it, you've been in a rut, but try making GOOD films that are unique instead of this.

Just look at how well Pixar's originals have done in the last decade vs sequels. Disney is never going to fund another Good Dinosaur, Turning Red, Brave, Soul, or Onward when Toy Story 4 made a billion dollars.

Reboot or sequel? Seems like the two words have gotten mixed together somewhere along the line but it's a big difference. A revival sequel isn't just a reboot.

I'm guessing it's a soft reboot, but they might go the Shrek route (aka the most confusing possible route) where they reboot the franchise but keep all the same actors so you have no idea what is or isn't in continuity from past movies:

I know how boxing betting works, the reason that the payout is for a first round KO is more is because of how unlikely it is. It really doesnt happen in boxing often, especially compared to the ufc.

I know you're really struggling with this idea that sometimes fights aren't completely honest, but if you just open up your mind to the possibility that a professional youtuber with a long history of stunts and a long-retired boxer might agree to not go 100% because it makes for a better show, I think you'll find the idea isn't that crazy.

It doesn't necessarily mean take a dive. It could just mean "slow roll the fight until at least round 7" because bookies and PPV stand to lose a lot of money if the fight itself is over in the first round. You don't need 1 fighter to get bought out and throw the fight if both are getting a cut of the house bets and are heavily incentivized to take it into later rounds.

Here's a betting table for a boxing match. The people who benefit are betting sites that make more money on a fight the longer the fight goes on. Just look at what the payout is for a round 1 KO vs a round 6 KO:

If you read the article, you might have to get past the first paragraph but it does specifically mention that there was another grenade attack that was attempted in January and Sweden's own security service tied it directly to a gang that had connections with iran.

Not just anyone. Eli Roth, director of such classics as Hostel, The Green Inferno, and Cabin Fever, because when everyone thinks "Borderlands". they think shitty slasher gore-fests.

I remember when places over Covid would still let you fill your own soda up but put a "no refills due to covid" sign on it and pretended like it was for safety reasons.

Years ago I knew this locally run game shop that had a copy prominently displayed by the register for like $200 with a note saying they were charging that much because they didn't want anyone to actually buy it

I'm more interested in all the weird changes they're making to the assist system. Homelander seems fine but that weird spiky dude that's riding on his back and can be used like an equippable "weapon" opens up a LOT more in terms of gameplay.

His kicks look wonky and his eye lasers look annoying as fuck to deal with. But otherwise I think they did a good job in differentiating Omniman from Homelander.

I can't really speak too much on the whole roster, but IIRC a significant number of characters and assists have the classic MK "appear behind you" move and that laser beam looks unbelievably slow, so it's probably meant to be high risk high reward as a deterrent against rushdown.

Everyone knows that the collective consensus on this fight is people just want Tyson to KO Paul in the opening seconds of the first round. So of course people are going to be spreading rumors about Paul saying the kind of thing that would lead to exactly that outcome.

It's like those little videos of the backstage "fights" that pro wrestlers have before a title match. It's all storytelling and showmanship.

Don't worry if you haven't played the games. It seems pretty clear the writers and directors haven't either.

People keep bringing up the controller because it sounds funny, but on a list of things wrong with the sub, it's way at the bottom (ba dum tsh). Game controllers are used for that kind of thing all the time.

I'm aware, but the fact that it was the cheapest model you can find on Amazon does highlight some of the priorities that might have extended to other materials or costs in the build. Safety critical systems also generally contain multiple redundancies should something as important as navigation fail.

FYI the Mad Max franchise (outside the first one) is more like a collection of tall tales from the wasteland of a mysterious figure named "Mad Max" who seems to appear during conflict but then he's just as quickly gone. There's a lot of worldbuilding but very little continuity, so you can more or less treat each movie independently. And by "very little continuity" I mean that we're not even sure if the "Mad Max" in each movie is the same guy or if it's just a name passed down like legend.

Of the older movies, they're all watchable but you could skip the first. Road Warrior is sort of a crappier version of Fury Road but still good in its own way and Beyond Thunderdome captures "wasteland society" pretty well today. If you were really pressed for time, I'd say pick Fury Road and Beyond Thunderdome, but if you find time to watch them all they're still worth a watch.

The secret is to ask questions, actually listen to the responses, and then ask follow-up questions based on what they said. If people feel like they're actually being listened to, they'll talk for hours. It could be as simple as:
"Hey, how was your weekend?"
"Not bad, kid had a baseball game on Saturday"
"Oh yea? How'd it go? What position?"

You don't even have to care about baseball, but by responding in a way that tells the other person you actually heard what they said will almost always make small talk easy.

And just think, the Star Citizen Kickstarter was in 2012 with an initial target of 2 million. A dozen years and 600 million dollars later, it's still being one-upped by every other space title that's actually been released.

I think technically if it gets downgraded to a warning he should still have access. Otherwise, no, although DToast has let multiple people back in because they pm'd him and said they wanted to be let back in, so there's no guarantee.

You can see it for long running niche franchises that have become more popular in recent years. A good example would be the Monster Hunter franchise. The game is more popular than it's ever been but I've seen a lot of long time fans upset with how world and rise have increasingly lowered the difficulty of the game to the point where I've seen some veteran players complaining that the newer games are basically button mashing and they're just not having fun anymore. From a pure bottom-dollar capitalism "infinite growth" perspective, growing your audience is always better for making more money. However, if the community has remained small because it is inherently a niche interest, then it's really not good for that community if the powers that be decide to crack open what made that game fun in the first place and then fundamentally change it so that an entirely different group of people who happens to be bigger can have fun.

If something gets popular and people are being dicks to new players, that's absolutely terrible gatekeeping. If the people who have been fans of a franchise for a long time inevitably feel pushed out by core changes that were made for the sole purpose of making sure the property owners make as much money as possible by bringing in new people who were previously not interested, that's not automatically a good thing.

Even if she inherited a fully paid off house that had no work needed on it, if it's a high cost of living area in California you're probably looking at something like 13 grand a year in property taxes alone.

Don't get me wrong, it's not like I would want them to clamp down on people giving their accounts to their children so they can log in. I just think if we're going to be serious about what we're claiming the value of our games collection is, we need to be a little more honest than just throwing out dollar amounts because on every other day that same library is a giant pile of digital trash piled high in the corner that the actual owners don't even look at.

I think people may be overvaluing their steam collection a bit. Your average pile of thousands of games bought on sale, 95% of which probably haven't even played, is filled with titles that your kids and grandkids will have no nostalgia over. You have the digital library equivalent of a hoarder's house and you're upset that you can't on death hand your children a giant pile of digital titles that they will never touch.

It's probably not worth it. Places with multiple applicants will usually at least have a fallback candidate or someone they're willing to take only if nobody better comes along. If they rejected everybody then there's pretty much no chance of you getting the job by reapplying.

People would still be saying Twitter is a private platform that can allow or ban whatever sort of speech they want.
