Juror says someone left her bag with $120,000 cash and promise of more if shell acquit.

They stole money that was supposed to feed poor kids.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/juror-says-someone-left-bag-120000-cash-promise-ll-acquit-rcna155332

A juror was dismissed Monday after reporting that a woman dropped a bag of $120,000 in cash at her home and offered her more money if she would vote to acquit seven people charged with stealing more than $40 million from a program meant to feed children during the pandemic.
This is completely beyond the pale, Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Thompson said in court Monday. This is outrageous behavior. This is stuff that happens in mob movies.
These seven are the first of 70 defendants expected to go to trial in a conspiracy that cost taxpayers $250 million. Eighteen others have pleaded guilty, and authorities said they recovered about $50 million in one of the nations largest pandemic-related fraud cases. Prosecutors say just a fraction of the money went to feed low-income kids, while the rest was spent on luxury cars, jewelry, travel and property.

During the trial that began in April, defense attorneys questioned the quality of the FBIs investigation and suggested that this might be more of a case of record-keeping problems than fraud as these defendants sought to keep up with rapidly changing rules for the food aid program.
These seven initial defendants were affiliated with a restaurant that participated in the food aid program. Those still awaiting trial include Feeding our Futures founder Aimee Bock, who has pleaded not guilty and denied any wrongdoing.
The 23-year-old juror said she immediately turned over the bag of cash to police. She said a woman left it with her father-in-law Sunday with the message that shed get another bag of cash if she voted to acquit, according to a report in the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Defense attorney Andrew Birrell told the judge that the bag of cash is a troubling and upsetting accusation.
Before allowing the trial to continue with more closing arguments on Monday, U.S. District Judge Nancy Brasel questioned the remaining 17 jurors and alternates, and none reported any unauthorized contact. Brasel decided to sequester the jury for the rest of the proceeding as a precaution.
I dont do it lightly, Brasel said. But I want to ensure a fair trial.
She didnt decide immediately whether to detain the defendants, but she did order an FBI agent to confiscate the defendants phones.
The aid money came from the U.S. Department of Agriculture and was administered by the state Department of Education. Nonprofits and other partners under the program were supposed to serve meals to kids.
Two of the groups involved, Feeding Our Future and Partners in Nutrition, were small nonprofits before the pandemic, but in 2021 they disbursed around $200 million each. Prosecutors allege they produced invoices for meals that were never served, ran shell companies, laundered money, indulged in passport fraud and accepted kickbacks

Donald Trump Jr. Talks About Moving To El Salvador To Avoid Prison: I may have to buy a place down there so we got a place to run

https://okmagazine.com/p/donald-trump-jr-may-buy-home-el-salvador-run-avoid-prison/

Donald Trump Jr. suggested he might consider buying property in El Salvador to escape a prison sentence on a recent episode of his "Triggered" podcast.
"They call it a third-world country. Guess what? It looked nicer than a lot of our cities," he claimed. "That's what was perhaps the biggest takeaway. Like, 'Hey man, we're going to El Salvador ... pretty crazy crime rate in the past ... you look around and it looked incredible."

Donald Jr. said he had meals in restaurants there that would have been as good as any in Miami or New York.
"It was sort of shocking, actually, to me," he continued. "I may have to buy a place down there, so when they throw me out of America or toward the gulag, we got a place to run."

Trump family critics took to social media to mock the former first son for his remarks especially considering his father Donald Trump was just convicted on 34 felony counts of falsifying business documents.
"Is it really that hard to not commit crimes? Apparently for the Trump family," one user quipped. Another added, "Why wait for the threat of being jailed.. just go!"

A third person pointed out, "Someone should tell Con Jr. that, according to the Organization of American States, El Salvador has an extradition of fugitives treaty with the US."
This comes after Donald Jr. declared the Democrats were ruining the United States amid his father's spiraling legal drama.
"Democrats have succeeded in their years-long quest to turn America into a s---hole country," he said on another episode of his podcast. "There can be no doubt that that has been their plan all along."

Might want to add these clowns to the no-flight list FBI

A squeeze happens when the price rises in the first place.

A squeeze is when a stock trends up such that many traders' shorts will lose money. The traders buys the stock at that point so they can cover the short before the price might go up higher. But because they're buying the stock, supply at the current price is reduced, so the stock price goes up further.

Umm no. You are missing the critical part of the squeeze.

A squeeze isn't made by people just buying. You think the redditors stopped buying? They didn't.

The squeeze happens when a buy happens and because of Naked shorting, the broker doesn't have the stock and has to find it somewhere else to fill the trade and\or close the short.
This means that buy doesn't just make a small tick on the price but it drastically rockets up.

This is due from how a short works.

And this has nothing to do with Gill or any idiots on reddit. Only people to blame for this kind of shorting was....the people not being blamed for mysterious reasons?

Some people probably bought thinking it would rise even higher, but it wasn't because they went to reddit and read what Keith Gill had to say. They saw the price spike from the fucking squeeze and had low information and went YOLO
who is to blame for that?

Infact the people on reddit constantly treated it as a loss. Back then it was on WallStreetBets where they are known to berate each other as idiots throwing away their money.

You are blaming someone who saw some blub about GME on NBC and looked up the price to see it spiked on the redditors and that is unfair and very uninformed, hopefully not malicious.

But... it did, that is how supply and demand works. As more people looked to buy the stock, there were fewer opportunities to buy at lower prices, because the stocks on offer at those lower prices were bought up.

The short squeeze ALSO increased the price, but it did so through the same logic: portfolios started looking to buy the stock to be able to cover their shorts, meaning demand rose more as supply further tightened.

In order for the price to go from $40 to $340 the volume would have to be insane like regular people buying multiple millions of shares
they weren't, even mortgaging their house to buy GME they couldn't buy a fraction of that

it was a squeeze

again, it is on CONGRESSIONAL RECORD that it was squeezed as told by the CEO of the Fund who tanked the biggest loss from it

The fact this one portfolio lost money (many Wall Street institutions made money on the ordeal btw) just doesn't change the fact that more or less, for every person that bought GME and then sold at $1,000, somebody else bought around $1,000 and got ruined. The people who made the most money from the situation were 'community leaders' who got a bunch of people to put their money into the stock and then sold their pre-pump stocks to those people for 100,000% gains. The big winners didn't get their money all from Melvin Capital, they got it from many of these low info retail investors.

but it is his fault not Melvin who literally admits in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orMxmQyy_tA
