This. You do not beat your enemies by using their tactics, you'd just become the same thing they represent. As much as it pisses people off you HAVE to be the better man.

Being the better man is what got us fascism in the first place though. If I die or get put into a camp, that isn't going to give me much solace.

It is difficult, because if fascism does arrive from this, then in hindsight we will say that we should have done a Jan 6th of our own to prevent it. But we can't see the future, so we don't know at this moment if it will be necessary.

The worse is that it was very obviously Trump's policies and his handling off the pandemic that caused the inflation that they blame Biden and by extension Harris for and nearly every expert predicts if Trump does what he said he will do in a second term that inflation will rise again. Americans are not bright.

Since he won the popular vote this time, we, as a nation, deserve the consequences.

They wanted economic change, and were too stupid to look into the kind of economic change Trump is promising to deliver. That's all there is to it.

If anyone tried using this against him, it would go to the right-wing Supreme Court, who have already shown they will let him do what he likes.

As someone who will suffer even if he does succeed, why should I want him to succeed, and vindicate himself and his voters?

Because this country voted for me to suffer. The majority of voters threw me under the bus. I want them all to suffer with me. My own life is guaranteed to get worse regardless of whether Trump succeeds or fails, so I want him to fail, which will vindicate myself and everyone else who voted against him. Yes, it's petty, but it's the only joy I can take from this presidency.

If the economy crashes hard, it makes the road to hard fascism much easier. Never hope for that, going by history.

We have already voted for fascism. Maybe if the economy crashes under fascism it will finally wake people up to the reality that turning to the left is the only solution to the current problems of capitalism.

I would rather the people who voted for him suffer too, than only minorities suffering. Otherwise it vindicates his policies, and ensures things will never get any better for minorities. The only way for his voters to learn a lesson is for them to suffer economically.

Honestly, kinda. I'm kind of over this harm reduction and constantly being expected to take blow after blow because I'm queer. I'm tired of being expected to take the high road, to be the bigger person.
