I'm not so sure that the US is going to get directly involved. I think Israel's trying to take out the Iranian government for good, and they have a good shot at pulling it off by themselves. People are underestimating how weak Iran is currently. The main question is whether the US will get involved if Israel can't finish the job.

I think the fact it's a franchise more than a singular show kind of hurts it here, and sure it's a huge one but it also didn't really produce any super huge mega-stars like other reality shows or really influence and change the game in many ways either.

I don't watch shows in this particular sub-genre, but my understanding is that the way they are edited/their overall aesthetic for the last 15 or so years is primarily based on Real Housewives.

The Judge Doom scene implanted itself in my childhood mind in an almost visceral way. I could almost remember the texture of the scene, but not the specific details of it, and then I watched it for the first time in decades a couple years ago, and it was like unlocking a repressed memory.

I don't think there's ever been drama involving Trump that people haven't claimed is an intentional distraction from something else. I've lost track of what the "real" thing is I'm supposed to be worrying about ten times over by this point.

Collaborations, Competitions, and Contests

Speaking of impact Im hoping to have the Fanatical idea up and running before the next State of the Site. Weve got some Metacritic conversations scheduled for next week, and a new Community Director is starting in June. That should help us pull all the moving pieces together for broader community initiatives. The folks in suits are also starting to ask what we can do, which gives me the perfect opportunity to hand over folders of behind-the-scenes planning thats already been happening.

This Fanatical idea appears to be something to do with FAQS, not a contest, but this is not an unpromising message. It seems like "Contests" was added to the heading for this section when compared to previous months.

I should add that it's entirely possible that a 1v1 match between SMB3 and SMW is still 50/50. If you allocate Yoshi's Island to World, and all the rest to SMB3, you end up with a 52/48 or 53/47 result. Not much movement from 2009. All of these "classic" Mario polls are from 2017 and later, so we have no direct 2000's era result to compare it to; this just could just be one of those weird POTD results we get from time to time, like the Mario character one. There are some polls from the early 2000's and those do show SMB3 solidly ahead, but they include 64/Sunshine, and it wouldn't surprise me if those games' supporters broke SMW's way,

All that said, I would take SMW in a direct match, and wouldn't be that worried about it. I'm just trying to play Devil's Advocate.

I didn't grow up with a PS1, but I was under the impression that there's no clear favorite among the sequels, so I just went with the original.

Some interesting statistics when looking at the previous results of this poll.

According to today's poll just over 14% of the site started gaming in 1984 or prior. In 2009, despite the period being much closer in time, only 6.3% of the site had been gaming since before '84.

Also, in 2009, just over 43% of the site had started gaming between 1994 and 2002. According to today's poll, the amount of people currently on GameFAQS who started gaming between 1995 to 2004 has fallen to 27.76%

People say that GameFAQS is frozen in time, but it's not only that, it's actively going backwards!
