Gen IV's final evolutions are strong and Gen I has some classics, but I went with Gen VI. Excellent lineup there

4 is incredible man but I agree some sequences went a bit long.

However, the choreography of the Arc de Triomphe sequence genuinely blew my mind

Gen 6 has two Charizards, Gen 1 has superior og Charizard, and Gen V has Theman, Volc and Chandelure.

I guess I'll go with Gen V for Theman. Best type though. So much excellence here.

Also I interpreted this as games that caused people to bang the "IT'S ART!" drum the most, and based my thoughts on that - as opposed to games I personally think are most "artistic". Idk about that, really. I'd probably throw in MGS2 if I was voting on it that way.

Agreed, and I'm shocked at how few votes it has in light of its remaster coming out shortly and how it was at one time THE sign that indie games were both catching on and could be different from what people normally think of with games.

My only guess with Braid is that it was very famous in its time but that time passed like a decade ago.

But the discussion of it embedded itself deeply enough into my brain that it was probably my first thought after SotC. Journey I saw in a museum on a school trip once as well as being so obviously "artistic"

Went with 2 over 9 and 5, narrowly.

kingambit cant carry 9 hard enough by itself even though its one of my all time favorites already

My only issue with Kingambit is its pose. It kind of looks to me like it's constantly taking a shit. Other than that it's perfect

5 > 9 > 2 > 4 > the rest btw

2 and 9 both really good imo what with the good boy (Mabosstiff) and Kingambit in one, and T-Tar & Houndoom in the other.

My instinct is that FF7R1 is better because I liked the setting so much, the focus, and it kind of delivers on moment after moment (and makes a few of its own like the Jenova fight). But it's also padded out a lot, like the drum section. I still have a long way to go on this one though.

XIII's stance here now makes sense why I got modded for sincerely telling lms to seek help.

Generally using mental illness is seen as moddable (we mod using Trump Derangement Syndrome as an insult for example). And to be honest with you, saying "seek help" and nothing else in response to a topic about star wars or whatever it was doesn't really scream sincerity - it's the kind of thing usually said to insult or annoy someone.

Like right at the start of FF7 Remake Cloud says to Barret "get help" knowing it would piss him off. It wasn't a severe suggestion that Barret see a therapist. It's a pretty common way of antagonising people. I get why you might think it but that post doesn't really come off in that "sincere" way.

At some point the burden is on the individual to realize their posts aren't wanted, even if they believe they have value. No one else does, it's not bullying to tell them so imo. But we're also past the point of "How many times do we have to teach you this lesson old man?" like telling him his posts suck at this point to his face isn't gonna do anything, so I get why you think it's bullying. I don't though, he knows what he's doing.

There was the odd sign that he listened to the posts, but it was all coming through an LMS filter. Like he'd go from referencing youtube randos to like "yeah sorry to mention another 'youtube rando' BUT this thing they said is bad because...". He's unable to move off that topic but showed at least some evidence that he was trying to make his posts fit the audience a bit more. Granted it was wildly unsuccessful and the posts were still all over the place but his posts aren't one completely homogenous blob - there was a kind of progression.

Well firstly I don't think he's "knowingly" shitting up anything. He believes his posts have value and are relevant.

What is or isn't bullying is a fairly subjective line. I can't tell you what point I became comfortable with calling the responses to LMS that, but to me it has to be sustained so it would have been after months or years. What do you think would have to be happening for that to be a word you'd be comfortable using?

Because it is sustained over years. I wouldn't have an issue if it was one or two of his topics or posts, but with LMS it is every topic or post. The harshness is more in the repetition and in the number of people doing it.

I didn't compare levels (ertyu did worse stuff for a longer period, of course the response was more aggressive), just that it is bullying in both cases.

Telling people their actions are unwanted is how you get them to stop (or, well, you punch the daylights out of them if they don't take the hint/escalate legally/whatever else is the next step from 'stop'). If gamefaqs modding policy was sensible there would be a 'report for inappropriate content' option and we'd just use that en masse, but we don't have that so telling him 'you're stupid, shut up' is what we got.

OK then keep doing it, but it isn't having any real effect and unlike those other situations, you can pretend he doesn't exist quite easily. Like I said, after a certain point telling him to shut up stops being something done out of a realistic hope for a change in his behaviour and starts being about relieving personal frustration (or even enjoyment).

This has been a far better game than SM2 for me because - despite cringing in the cutscenes more than in SM2 - it has a sense of forward propulsion to it. I like that it's "open world" but it feels like an ongoing journey forward into something new and exciting. And when I want a break from that and to just sit in what I've found so far, I fast travel back to Junon etc and hit the stuff I've missed. And yeah, the minigames are charming and I mostly like them.

LMS would absolutely continue if people stopped engaging him yes. He's quite clearly not driven by like, dialogue.

In LMS's case, it actually works because he doesn't pay attention to anyone anyway, but I'd argue he's the exception.

Nah this is different to like MWC or whoever because they were deliberately and offensively provocative and attacking him was playing into his hands, and I don't get why you would ever want to do that

It comes down to the same thing - don't respond - but MWC and his ilk deliberately provoked attacks, while LMS is definitely not doing that. He's just posting his youtuber word salads and you can just...glaze right over them rather than dogpiling on his every post. It is simply the way he is. It's not going to change (certainly not because of the 4 millionth "shut up" post), and if the way he is is that unbearable to you, the ignore/block button is right there.
