This topic motivated me to try and beat Gold Stakes with Black Deck, and Im currently up to Orange. It reminds me a lot of why Gold Stakes pre-update felt so unfair most of the time - 3 hands starting is just a really rough condition for many reasons and really pushes you to kill a lot of runs early before they can actually take off.

Its been fun because when you do pop off, having the bonus Joker slot can be REALLY fun. But its almost embarrassing how many runs come to a sudden and unceremonious end.

On orange/gold I hold r until I either get a free poly or rare joker, free shop, or boss defeat money.

I read that usually when grizzly bears and polar bears conflict, the grizzly bear usually wins. And with climate change their areas overlap alot more.

Probably comes down to size, and Kodiak bears are often bigger.

I guess it depends on the individual. I once took 12mg in 3 4mg incremental doses so an eye doctor could try and inject my eyeball. It did nothing other than make me feel slightly more euphoric, I could have driven home. Definitely wasn't letting them inject my eyeball, so I got the laser instead.

Tbh, I don't know how y'all play the Zapdos/Zebstrika variant of the Pika EX deck. Zapdos is just...a bad use of 3 energy. You're basically gambling if your Pika isn't in your starting hand.

I've solo'd people with Zapdos ex when my Pikachu ex is nowhere to be found, which doesn't happen often. Otherwise the deck pretty much pilots itself, and in the current Gary meta bench sniping for 30 is a powerful counter. It seems recently that many of the top 10 and 1st place decks are replacing a Zapdos ex with one of the new Electabuzz, but the double Zapdos version still produces results. Tournament goers have seemingly abandoned the Raichu version because Gary eats it.

With good ol' fashioned canvasing.

I just discovered (99 hours in) that Blackboard checks your hand for its bonus AFTER you play the hand, so you can play a hand that leaves your hand with only spades/clubs and still get it. A true example of reading the card explaining the card, lmao.

That makes it so much more usable than I thought, it just hard carried my gold stake checkered deck run.

Blackboard is an amazing gold stake joker, not so much otherwise.

Did a pika ex and a scoliopede deck. Both fail if they get everything they need right away, which is happening often

My Pika deck ripped that event apart, actually just finished my last win for 100%. I'm using zebras version, I think I only lost once or twice through the whole thing.

It's funny because I see some people complain about their spouse as if they didn't know what they were like until they're married. You'd figure that you would know every ounce of each other before making such a huge commitment but that's not the case and its wrong to blame people for not knowing what they were getting into. *Shrugs*

I finally got a 2nd Celebi ex, another immersive art, and have been giving the Celebi/Eggxecutor ex deck a go. It's awesome!! I beat M2, Gary, and a bunch of others. I only lost once to a mirror I hard bricked on.

I only need a normal Celebi ex and Pigeot ex to complete all the numbered MI dex.

I've been in IT for over a decade, many people have tried to bully me. It never works though because I'm not a doormat and rarely does the same person try it twice.

The order of your jokers left to right is hugely important, and depending on the jokers, the order your hand is arranged before playing it can be important too. Always put your x multipliers on the right, biggest at the end.

I see the tag "bullet hell" I avoid like the plague.
