I've got another business going right now, but it's not earning enough to help. I'm basically working the hotel job just to keep that one up. If it ever starts earning enough to to match what I make at the hotel I'm quitting. But as of right now I'm not in a position to quit without having another job lined up, and if I'm going to be working a job I'd rather just stay put.

He's not mean. But he is manipulative and selfish. He'll screw over anyone he can if it'll benefit him in some way.

His wife is the same way, except she is very mean. They make a good team for each other, what he can't get with polite manipulation, she takes by force and threats. And vice versa, if no one is willing to help her due to her bad attitude, he can generally pressure them to do so with less aggressive means.

I don't mind the job itself, but I don't get along well with these people.

I guess I just miss being young in general. Was in better shape, looked better, felt better, that kind of stuff.

I had bright blue eyes when born then green as a teen now very dark barely green and I'm a little miffed...

That made my mom upset. My brother has her black hair, and had bright blue eyes. His turned green later, and she was ok with that. But then they turned brown as he got older. She said it made her so angry that he didn't keep light colored eyes.

Then I did similar and it upset her too. I was born with blonde hair and blue eyes. My eyes turned green and she said it made her cry. She thought they'd continue until they turned brown. Fortunately my eyes stayed pale green, but my hair turned dark brown. Honestly, I think I would've rather kept the blonde and had brown eyes instead. But I'm happy as is... It's just annoying when I see someone who knew me as a kid and always hit me with "That can't be, you were blonde."

God no. I'm far from the sharpest tool in the shed, but that guy is aggressively dumb.

One example, I left a note reminding them of something important. Something like "Hey, just a reminder to do _____ at noon today.
-Dustin"

So instead of doing it, they saved the note till the next day and gave it to me. Said it was left at the desk for me. I told them that I left it as a reminder for them, but they refused to believe it because it had my name on it.

Oh, he also believe there's a secret underground facility under the stock exchange in NY that's run by an advanced AI robot who secretly controls the world's billionaires.

Also, several different times he's told me that China will drop an MP3 on the USA. Yes, an MP3.

And the Illuminati and NWO have made our money obsolete, and is just waiting on physical money to die before implementing some kind of social score crypto currency, where a person's social value determines how much money they earn and that the working class is already negative score and we'll never survive once the stock market AI robot signals the Illuminati to implement the NWO to control us all.

My bad then, I misremembered. I thought it was a peace treaty thing between the clans of the woodlands that would end their war. So it made sense why one would rudely refuse to let people pass if it would interrupt things. She was just so insisting to be ket through despite all that.

She is just confident, assertive and has no patience for BS, but since she is a woman...

Breakfast starts at 6, they get there at 6. It has to be ready for the guests before then. I was told it's part of my job to set it up for them, so I do.

Recently they've been asked to start coming earlier and doing it all themselves. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. They seem to treat it as optional, so I have to start getting things ready in case they decide not to show up until 6. So I didn't particularly think the bagels would be that big of an issue. I was about to to put them out myself when she showed up, so I went back to the desk.

Also, my manager works the nights that I don't. So he sees how they are. He wants them gone too and is angry at them. The thing is, he's even lazier than they are and I know he doesn't get anything set up for them. I wasn't expecting to be treated that way after 1 day of not totally having everything set for them.

I didn't particularly care for the 1st one at first. It took me a long time to circle back and actually play through the whole thing. The closer to the end I got the more I enjoyed it. But overall, wasn't a big fan.

The second one looked great, and I did end up enjoying the first one enough to warrant buying a copy. But I never finished it.

I don't like Aloy very much. She has such a self important and arrogant attitude, and yes she is very important to that world, but it's like they dialed it to 11 for her. Some of the side characters are ok, but nothing special. It just didn't have enough that I enjoyed to keep me interested in it.

Like, one of the first things you do in Forbidden West is pass through a check point. She arrives and demands to be ket through immediately. The people explain that a very important peace treaty is being signed outside the gate to end a decades long war, and that any interruption will be seen as a hostile action and the war will continue. They politely ask her to wait a few hours before she passes. Instead she hits them a "Don't you know who I am? You can't stop me, I'm going through that gate right now. You can can either let me through, or I'll fight my way through."

It's like, good god? Am I supposed to be rooting for her? There was a similar event in the first game too. She just kind of ruins the game for me. Which is a shame, because it's a fun game with an interesting world... But I cannot bring myself to care about most of the characters.

I'll be honest, that makes up a substantial portion of most of my nights too. That's how I generally have time to do the breakfast and stuff too.

Literally the only "extra" thing she had to do this time was set some bagels out. Having the tray stay dirty affected nothing except it looked like someone had already dropped some batter. It wasn't even that bad, most of it ended up on the counter anyway.

I was just taken by surprise by how big of a fit she had because she had to do like 1 minute of work. If you can even call moving some bagels once work at all.

I was willing to give them benefit of the doubt when they claimed the other would be there in a few minutes. I figured a few minutes wouldn't hurt, but it's literally 1-2 hours each time.

All the management here sucks. This is one of the most incompetently ran places I've ever worked. This is actually my 3rd time working here, I quit once due to management being stupid. Eventually went back after new management took over, and those guys were awesome, but corporate was even dumber and brought back the old management, and I quit shortly afterward due to other issues. I was contacted and asked to come back a little over a year ago, I agreed to go back on the condition that I only work weekends.

They didn't hold up their end of the deal though, and I dislike half the people here. lol
If I had another reliable income I'd just quit again... But as of now I need this.

That's literally it.
I sometimes get stuck pulling a double shift, so I'm there all throughout breakfast. She literally takes three 15 minutes long smoke breaks in the hour after she arrives and before I leave. When I have to stay for an extra shift, that holds true, it's three break an hour, generally 15 minutes. Then when she's inside she's just standing around begging for tips.

It's not even that hard if a job. We set our 4 trays of food, 2 for eggs, 1 for sausage, and 1 for biscuits. We have 2 microwaves and we cook each thing for 3 minutes. Which means you can literally refill the entire thing in 6 minutes if "work" that work being standing there waiting on the microwave to finish.

Good God, the actual waffle maker and the counter in front of it was a disaster. I got caught up cleaning all that stuff, and once the counter and everything was finally clean, I went to finish up the dishes I had soaking, and forgot to go back and grab the tray from underneath.

I understand her mentioning it, and was ok with her saying I should've cleaned it, because she had a point. That's why I apologized and she played it off as if she was just jokingly reminding me. Only to then start insulting me behind my back. Then throwing a full on tantrum when she realized she'd have to put some bagels on a tray herself. Like she was actually having a hissy fit, yelling and screaming about it.

I'm very tempted to not set up anything for breakfast from now on... But I know that would backfire on me and just make the guests upset. So that's not really an option either, ugh.

I always get everything set up for them beforehand. Just this time I had to do it all the day before, and overlooked cleaning a single relatively unimportant tray, and yes, I was lazy and didn't set out the bagels. I thought it wouldn't hurt for her do it for once. Apparently I was wrong.

Both my manager and his wife want her gone. She's nothing but trouble, and actually doesn't even do the job. Once the food I set out runs out, she starts telling people we're out of food. She tells them that she set it all up, despite having not touched anything. Then she literally stands in the corner with a tip jar, and if anyone tells her thanks and she responds with "If you really mean it you'll put a dollar or two in here."

Oh, and I forgot that when they both work, one will clock the other one in claiming "oh she's 10 minutes away" or "She's grabbing us breakfast and will be here soon." Only for the other one to not show up for 2 more hours.

They make it extremely unpleasant, and I've done nothing but help them and support them, and never say anything about their behavior. But God forbid I accidentally leave a dirty pan that no one's even going to touch, and not take 1 minute to put bagels out for them. You'd think I insulted her mother while kicking her dog.

Ok, so I work the front desk of a hotel. It's the overnight shift, so I was also generally responsible for setting up the breakfast before the breakfast workers arrived. Not a big a deal, but they began to get an attitude if my job at the desk kept me from getting everything fully set up for them. Generally, if I do everything, they wouldn't have to do anything for about an hour or so after they arrive. They also regularly leave piles of dirty dishes, rancid milk, and waffle batter out to go bad which I have to clean up on my shift that night.

Well, it was a race weekend, and we sold out Friday and Saturday nights. And they both hate working busy weekends so they both called out in Saturday. Which left me to stay and do breakfast by myself for the whole hotel(which they refused to do as a team because it's too much work). This was on top of my regular shift. So after it was all done, I did all the dishes, cleaned off all the tables, cleaned the countertops, took out all the garbage, made sure the juice machine was full... There were only 2 things that I didn't do. I didn't put bagels on a tray and gave it waiting for them, and I forgot about the trays underneath the waffle makers that catches spills. So those had some spots of dried batter on them.

Anyway, when she arrives this morning she starts shouting about the waffle trays. Calls me over and starts yelling at me for not cleaning them, which I apologized for and said that I forgot after a long 12 hour shift and being stuck doing everything on my own. She kind of played it off as a joke, and said if it had been anyone else she'd be cussing them out... She also said she probably wouldn't be able to set everything out in time since she's going to be cleaning up after me(which she didn't even do btw).

The thing is, she doesn't realize that the door to the office is not sound proof, and she's very loud. I heard cussing about me to herself. I heard her say that next time she's going to come in late so I have to deal with all myself. Then she saw the empty bagel tray... And my god, that pissed her right off. She started screaming about me not doing my job, and fussing that she has to put bagels out herself instead of having it done for her, and saying I'm lucky that she doesn't walk out. I overheard her start making up lies too, like claiming the juice machine was empty and how she has to do everything. So I stepped around the corner and told her "The juice machine is NOT empty, I made sure of that." Then she started claiming the trash was running over, and asked her to show me since I changed all the garbage before she arrived and had everything ready for her except the bagels. She just said that the trash would've been overflowing if I hadn't changed it... Uh, yeah, no duh. That's why I got it for you.

Anyway, that lasted about half an hour of her cussing and fussing about me like 20 feet away. I was so close to confronting her and telling her off, but there were guests around and she was still fussing in front of them. It didn't stop until her helper showed up and she got to sit out side and smoke for about 40 minutes before my shift ended.

I did tell my manager, and they said she's been a big problem lately. I complained about it to my mom, y'know just to vent, and she called her friend who works in management and they're going to file a complaint on my behalf to the big boss...

So yay... She's probably going to either get written up, or just get talked to about it. In which case she'll either hold a grudge against me and cause more problems just because, or just straight up quit.

Finally home. Jeez, that was long 12 hours. My bed is calling my name, and I'm about to answer it.

Immediate family is just me, my brother,vans my parents.

As for my full family, it's pretty big. My mom had 6 siblings, and dad had 4. Each of which had multiple children(except 1 who just had a son). Most had around 4 children. So I've got like 40-50 first cousins, and way too many second cousins to count.

My grandparents had lots of siblings too, so quite a few great aunts and great uncles, but iirc only one is still alive.

Yes. It's annoying to see one pop up on my feed. They almost always irritate me to look at somehow. lol

But it's not his fault, I've seen videos explaining how the algorithm works and basically his thumbnails are exactly what YouTube wants. So he's just doing what needs to be done to get the views.

I only have a brother. He's a couple of years older than I am, so he was bigger than me until my later teenage years.

Anyway, he's mean and conceited. He very much takes after my dad, and puts others down to feel better about himself. For a very long time that was me that he was doing it to. Dad saw that and encouraged him, and mom didn't correct him out of fear that Dad would get angry. So he basically got away with whatever he wanted. Stuff like smashing dishes for fun, taking a hammer and destroying my stuff, etc. He liked to beat me up too, and always told me that he'd stop when I can make him.

He remained violent and mean to me for most of our teen years. Until I ended up being taller than him and he got jealous. Things changed once dad tried to kill me though. For done reason my brother took offense at that, not that he tried to kill me or anything, but because it apparently showed that dad thought he had more authority than my brother did... So then the focus shifted from him hating me to hating dad.

After that we did grow close and get along well. But he always said that he'd rather just never see any of us again. So then when he got married to a controlling woman who didn't want us in his life, we were cut out of it.

If we're lucky he shows up for Christmas to pick up his gifts and ask us to give him money. He tells us about his life and leaves. We don't matter to him any more outside of being a back up source of income if he needs.

Same. Life would be so much easier if I didn't care about everyone around me. Honestly, I feel like I care more for them than I do myself. I'll always sacrifice my own needs and happiness for the convenience of others.

It eventually takes a real toll.

Being single is great, and having this mindset of being alone/single is miserable is why you are in the first place. I'm never single because I'm never allowed to be, because people (men and women) fall in love with my strength of character. People are attracted to confidence, loving one self, and being able to adventure and explore on your own -- traits that make people follow you, and eventually get to know and fall in love with you. You can enjoy life without a companion, and I feel I do best single... but I always end up in a relationship because I attract someone some how.

Anyways, learn to love your self, and others will, too. Life is too short to feel miserable... and most definitely can be made worse if you choose the wrong partner. Relationships aren't always this amazing/glorified thing most like to prop them up as.

Posts like this make me think most people don't even realize what loneliness is. There's a difference between being single and being alone. From the way that posts sounds, you're rarely even single, and I doubt you've ever truly been alone.

Some of us have never had a date. Some of us have never been wanted. There is no choice in the matter. It's not a matter of being in between relationships, taking a break, or just enjoying single life. Because being alone is all there is to it.

I'm glad you're happy and have a healthy life life. But not everyone is having their emotional and physical needs met. You know what happens when people's needs aren't met? They become unhealthy, and damaged. It's not fair to judge us, and tell us we need to learn to be happy in our pain. Especially not by someone whose never truly experienced it.

Yes. I have a couple of coworkers who are very problematic. I don't want to say that they're dumb, but they are very far from smart.

They both have the attitude that they're better than anyone else too, and that they cannot be wrong. Ever. About anything. The thing is, they're totally and absolutely and very obviously wrong about most things. I'm not saying their opinions are wrong, but like actual facts about stuff. And they somehow convinced most other people around them that they are as smart as they act.

So, if I ever notice they're wrong about something, unless it's really important, I won't bother saying anything. It's pointless to try.

It was strange that neither of us actually saw anything. I had a good view of the front door as I was backing out. But the driveway curves and for a few seconds my lights weren't on the house just before driving away. That's the moment mom heard the door.

The timing of her hearing the door as soon as the opportunity arose is what creeps me out. I wasn't even gone yet, if it was someone they would've had to rush to the door as soon as they thought I wouldn't notice. And mom had literally just locked it.

Of course, it could just be strange noises that coincidentally happened in time to seem like a person. So, idk... Weird stuff happens here all the time so we're kinda used to odd stuff. It's just the first time I know of that someone may have tried to get in.

There is a lot of wildlife, but I doubt it. The footsteps definitely sounded human. Mom said she initially thought maybe a cat was pushing against the door to make it sound like someone was trying to get in, but then she realized the doorknob was turning.

Hm, that's a good point actually. My dog wasn't barking at all. I think if he was I would've been more on alert than just ignoring it and going on to work.

He's a weirdo though, he'll sleep through pretty much anything and only barks for attention. So maybe he was asleep, but he'd likely bark for a stranger to come visit him.

Maybe "break into" isn't quite the right term, but I'll explain.

I work the overnight shift. So I was leaving my house at 10:30 pm. It's been rainy, so the ground was really squishy. On my way to the car my footsteps were making very audible squishing noises. So when I stop to open the car door, I hear other footsteps approaching from behind. So I stop and turn around and am trying to see if anyone is there, but the noise stopped when I started checking. That kind of gave me the creeps, so I got in the car and turned on the headlights and I didn't see anyone in the yard at all. I watched as I backed out and didn't see anything. So, thinking I just misheard something I went on to work.

When I arrived home this morning, mom asked if I noticed anything suspicious when I left. I asked if she heard a person, and she asked if I had heard one. I told her about the footsteps, but that I wasn't sure. She told me that right as I was leaving, she heard someone trying to open the door. She thought I forgot something and was trying to get in, so she went to answer the door. Said she heard the doorknob being turning as she approached but that it stopped when she to the door. She got a creepy feeling and didn't open the door, but instead looked out the window to try and see if it was me. But that's when she saw me pulling out of the driveway and realized it couldn't have been me.

So, from what it sounds like is that someone was hiding in the yard somewhere, possibly quickly stepped away to hide as I approached the car then tried to enter the house as soon as I out of the driveway. Maybe they didn't realize other people were home.

But otherwise, nothing else unusual happened from what she said.
