The EMMI parry was so tight in its timing that I ended up not bothering most of the time.

Now the final fights requiring it...much easier to pull off.

I wouldn't be so sure, there are absolutely hints that the "Justice League" you hunt down and have to kill are either clones or elseworld versions.

And considering it's a live service game (ugh) it makes absolute sense to leave stuff like this open for story expansion.

I imagine they gradually introduce that stuff so it's not overwhelming by the end.

It's apparently not the real Arkham Batman that was killed anyway, if I am to take what I heard about the game's current ending correctly.

On the other hand at least you can play Persona 3 Portable on it.

To their credit, it does somewhat reinforce the point of what they're trying to do by giving final fantasy 7 fans a storyline where for the first time in decades they legitimately don't know what's going to happen.

Yep, they wanted to create an uncertainty because they thought it would be more interesting than knowing exactly what's gonna happen.

They succeeded, I think.

I can get preference, but Xenoblade 3 (and 2 for that matter) being considered "hot garbage" is wild to me.

Lol, yeah, it's kinda weird. I'll be honest though, they're more family movies than actual Sonic movies. Entertaining and well-made, but doesn't focus as much on like...the actual characters and worlds they're from as they should. Sonic 2's a bit better on that and 3's rumored to have even more focus on the game characters. They're worth checking out, IMO.

Xenoblade's separate from the other Xeno-games and only shares like...narrative themes and such that Takahashi loves to reuse. Xenoblade X is also (currently) a separate spin-off from the main trilogy in that it contains references to Xenoblade 1, but no direct correlation.

All the Xenoblade games are great to varying degrees, they all have their strengths and weaknesses. Xenoblade 2 might have the biggest hurdle though because it leaves a bad first impression. Poor dub, annoying trope-y characters (at first, they grow out of it), typical unfunny easy anime humor, slow-to-start combat, exploration locked off via field skills which is tied to the RNG-fest that is Core Crystals (it's just like gacha, just without using real money). It sounds bad but it shows glimmers of greatness that you may be interested in (the soundtrack is absolutely amazing and Chapter 1 is a perfect introduction to the world and plot, IMO), and if you stick with the game it greatly rewards you. It's almost an entirely different game in the second half (even the dub improves in quality).

The only game I'd say that would require homework is Xenoblade 3. It's meant to be the culmination of Xenoblade 1 and 2 both thematically (main game) and literally (the Future Redeemed DLC).

That's true. I REALLY hope they're trying to make it more like a Sonic movie. I think I might've read that a supposed script leak showed it's less focused on the human characters aside from the relevant stuff with Shadow. That's a great start, just give us recognizable non-licensed music.

The batmobile and especially bat tank was too forced, but I never see people talk about the predator rooms in Arkham Knight. It was my favorite part of the series and I thought they were significantly worse in Knight than earlier series. So much gadget bloat that you really didn't need strategy.

Also the side mission structure - what the fuck were they thinking? You're really just gonna have every villain do the same thing six times? Mindboggling.

I'll touch on this. I definitely felt the side missions were a downgrade from City and even Origin, that was a disappointment. Especially how they handled Deathstroke, dear lord.

With the predator missions they shined far more in the AR Missions which I don't think a lot of Arkham Knight players really delved into. In the campaign they absolutely were easy and super cheesable with the gadgets, so I understand the disappointment there.

That's why I try to make things easily searchable in my videos (timestamps in description or pinned comment), sometimes making separate categories of videos for the same game. I used to make text walkthroughs but always wanted to record them. I still need work on unscripted commentary, I sometimes have issues figuring out what I wanna say, mostly because I'm also concentrating on playing well. I'm thinking of switching to scripted post-commentary so I can do a better job with the "guide" aspect.

Speaking of Lethal Company, has anyone here ever made topics about the game for online? I never played it because I don't have anybody to play it with, lol.

I'm one who always liked it, but yeah, I'm seeing that game being treated with reverence now and I'm disappointed. If they want to go all "what happened to Rocksteady man" it'd be more acceptable if they showed Arkham City and/or Arkham Asylum, IMO.

Either way I'm more interested in the gameplay still.

I wonder just how scantily clad you can make Eve, because I thought I saw split-second glimpses of...a lot of skin in that trailer.
