| ellis123 08/16/24 5:24:48 PM #8 | Tyranthraxus posted... No characters in FFT aren't dead unless they become crystals and you can't chantage out of a crystal.Class 0 doesn't die in any cutscene level by summoning Eidolons, which would negate that as a relevant factor. At most it gets hand waved as Arecia just bringing them back, something that wouldn't matter here as she wouldn't be present (otherwise there would be a lot more complications that would still leave basically everyone with infinite lives, just jumping through hoops). In this vein pointing out that FFT characters would be utterly immune to death as they cannot crystal with Chantage isn't exactly a damning issue as the entire point is to point out that plenty of the casts can be effectively immune to death. Pointing out that the FFT cast can be immune to crystallization, and thus immune to death period, is being technically correct at the cost of making your initial premise that much weaker: you have actively pointed out how the cast from Type 0 would lose that much harder if we went solely off of the idea that being hard to kill was the sole relevant factor. --- "A shouted order to do something of dubious morality with an unpredictable outcome? In Type-0 verse summoning requires the summoner to kill themselves so it's super powerful but almost never used but Class Zero can just do it whenever the fuck they want because they come back to life shortly lol. Many of the games feature infinite resurrection. For instance, in FFT you could just have everyone with Chantage. --- "A shouted order to do something of dubious morality with an unpredictable outcome? Thweeet!" My FC is in my profile. |

And it's not particularly weird to eat sweetmeats, no. If anything it's more common than you think as basically everything processed has loads of sugar added to give it the taste that you are used to. *Especially* coming from the English angle as they are the ones I'd associate most with the concept of sweetmeats in the first place (seeing as that's where it originated from and all). --- "A shouted order to do something of dubious morality with an unpredictable outcome? | ellis123 08/15/24 8:20:28 PM #44 | Stagmar posted... Serious question; what kinds of policies would be considered "centre-left", from an unbiased viewpoint (if such a thing exists)? The simple answer is that there isn't a particular policy that makes something left/right as the dichotomy is more about authoritarianism. The further left you go the less you have, the further right you go the more you have. In this way you have a very static extreme on both ends: on the left you have a society in which the state is completely gone and everything is run by the individual (communism), and on the right you have a society in which one person rules over everyone with no other entity acting as a check to their power (monarchy). In the center you have a society in which there are haves and have-nots but those in power have checks against them while have-nots have things that give checks for them. Following through a center-left political environment would be one in which the policies eroding the power from the powerful would be substantial but not necessarily to the point that things like the state no longer exists. An example of this would be most standard versions of socialism. --- "A shouted order to do something of dubious morality with an unpredictable outcome? Thweeet!" My FC is in my profile. |

US has Carolina Reaper and X, both are hotter than ghost pepper, but the country itself is not associated with extreme spice consumption hence its exclusion. The US also has the 7 pot primo and the Butch T that are above the ghost pepper. And, frankly, the act of "being associated" with being spicy is just silly. Most of China isn't either, as you pointed out, but much like with China there are places in America that are very well known for spicy foods. Places like Louisiana and Texas absolutely have the moniker for spicy food in exactly the same way as any of the provinces listed in China, so leaving it off comes across as cherry-picking.
