Maybe he did get into one of those time portals, but it just sent him further into the future? Would explain why apparently that much time passed but he looks nowhere NEAR 50 years older.

this is explained in the show the time portal aku used some how made it so jack does not age

I'm kinda confused because I swear the show foreshadowed repeatedly that Jack ends up defeating Aku and going back to the past at some point once he "earned" it.

Him being 70 and still in Aku's hell future just seems to make foreshadowing random.

they retconed that

now jack DOES still go back to the past but it has nothing to do with the method set up

and with how season 5s plot is structured it kinda ruins the message it had set up that jack had to let go of the past

that combined with its more mature story telling and the constant call backs to the countless lives jack saved

makes him going back in time feel wrong as it means every one was erased from existence cus 10000s of years of history where undone

I am pretty sure Jack is not THAT old after the time jump. Heck he probably isn't even 50 yet.

the time skip is 50 years after the original series this is flat out stated

and jack was 20 when first sent to the future and several years pass over the course of the original series

so yes jack is over 70

Kind of. But after letting a hospital donor die he couldnt get a job as a doctor anywhere else. I dont remember how he ended up in the Hamptons but he ended up saving a rich person or their kid or something because he took the Hippocratic Oath and thats what he does, then ended up making a living out of it.

It was a USA channel show. High profile surgeon has two cases come in at once, a wealthy hospital donor with a minor issue and another one with a major issue, gets his assistants started on the donor while he saves the other one, donor dies, he gets blackballed by the hospital.

The only difference is that he didnt save a future serial killer, so he becomes a concierge doctor for the rich rather than going off on a quest to stop someone.

so he saves a poor person over a rich person and then ends up as a rich ppl only doctor

There is a cool fan ending where Light wins and becomes ruler of the world. Then years later he lets Ryuk kill him cause he is bored. He wakes up in the land of the Shinigami and finds out he suffers a death (and all its pain) every few minutes, until he has gone through every person he ever killed

Then he will cease to exist. Ryuk is shocked when instead of going into despair, Light smiles and then says he's going to challenge the Shinigami King before his time runs out

I've always thought it'd be interesting to get a game or movie based on her arrival and how she manipulated things back then. I'm imagining my some horror setting with a thing hiding out in the wilderness ready to kill, but could also be disguised as someone you know. The only indicator of its presence would be a gradual death of the surrounding environment.

Though, the games treat her as just another monster boss fight. Her backstory has always been the interesting part of the games imo.

I mean I'm not just basing it on the article but ok. I see 18 19 and even 20 year olds that are completely dependent on their parents to even get out of the house and that is not a good thing. Many have very little autonomy, very little sense of problem solving on their own. I know a few that don't even know how to drive. I see young adults taking their parents with them to doctor checkups and things. I'm not THAT much older than these folks so I get it, but its not a good practice.
