The initial plot is Ash turns 10 making him eligible for his first Pokemon. After becoming rivals with Prof. Oak's grandson Gary, Ash sets out into the world (Kanto region of Japan) to start his journey. Along the way making friends, learning of the Pokemon League and going to the gyms, and catching more Pokemon (slowly) all awhile being endlessly pursued by 3 ignorant members of Team Rocket who seem to believe Pikachu is among the rarest Pokemon due to it's strength seen in their first encounter.

As the seasons went on yes it was pretty much more of the same. Some friends would stay, some would go home and be replaced by a new character(s). Ash would move on to the next region with Pikachu by his side leaving the rest at Oak's lab. He'll learn of a new league or tournament and try to win it. The new friends would usually get involved with the contests and such from the games. The new villains from the games would be present, but moved aside in favor of Jessie, James, and Meowth who regardless of failure after failure for episodes on end continue to stalk Ash and friends.

and Ash is STILL 10 throughout all of this which has never made any sense.

Since 7 uses a similar format to the Gameboy titles maybe they took things a little too literal when designing the sprites, hence the cramped feeling.

but yeah when most people I see say they dislike 7 it's either because of the final fight, or the graphics.

So the Gems do not age and could live "forever"?

Also they can all merge with each other?

Intriguing.

If Steven is a gem, is he not going to age?

Also, their looks are only an illusion? And Steven is aging?

Pretty much yeah

Yes they can all fuse

Steven ages, just slowly, and more on that will come up in later episodes.

Yes their physical form is made of light.

I believe Tommy was the one with Native American roots based on an episode about his brother (played by JDF's actual brother), and he would eventually become a Red Ranger.

Also of note is that Trini in the pilot was played by Audri Dubois, who is not Asian. She was replaced after asking for more money. The Black Ranger being African-American just happened to be coincidence and as I recall from Linkara's review the Saban crew didn't realize the whole black/yellow thing until about 7-8 episodes in.

I thought it was good for it's time. Whenever I played an N64 game back in the day I felt one with the controller. Today it's sluggish and awkward. Last time I played Banjo-Kazooie for example everything seemed slippery.

and the only time I ever used the d-pad was when I played Pokemon Stadium, or that time I rented Robotron 64.

BC, Canada

As of the current update we have 1948 confirmed cases province wide, which is about 3.8% of our overall population. These numbers never go down though so the total represents the number confirmed since they began testing. I'm in a small rural neighborhood with potentially zero cases. We had one confirmed a month ago, and I'm sure that person has recovered by now. We also had a couple of people who returned from travel and refused to self quarantine, but that got sorted out fast.

We take precautions here like any other. Stores have reduced hours. Some have limits on how many can come in at a time. Our pharmacy only allows one customer and a staff member goes to get your stuff while you stay at the front counter. Sadly we do get tourists throughout the year and despite warnings people are still visiting. Some locals have protested and put up signs asking visitors to go home. We'll likely be putting up with this until the end of the Summer. As for the city I see occasional pictures and the once busy roads are usually empty. The only recent hiccup was a breakout at a chicken processing plant in East Vancouver which is now shut down.

My mom's father died a year before I was born. I did get to know my grandma and great grandma from her side though. They both passed before I turned 12. (1993-1994)

I still enjoyed it though. Waiting on the other seasons to come to dvd.

When I was born we had two cats. Overall we had 12 cats before our first dog. Of those 12 were 7 kittens. Two were given to family and 5 later went to a pet store.

In my 36 years I have had a grand total of 16 cats and 4 dogs. At this moment I have 1 cat, Pepper. My sister has a dog.

I wish I had more time to watch these and be part of these conversations. I've watched Zyuranger and the first episode of Dairanger, but haven't watched any other Sentai.

I've seen all of Zyuranger, about 95% of Dairanger, and various episodes from Kaku and Time.

I have Jet-Mega, and Time on dvd but haven't watched most of them yet.

As for Kamen Rider I last saw some of Gaim and enjoyed it.

He was a line officer similar to Worf. They would perform various bridge operations while having some command authority. In this position they would be eligible to move up a rank when the command was available. Hence why Worf became chief of security and Geordi became chief engineer.

Maybe not, but in regards to farmable areas, I think 3 has a glut of them compared to 1 and 2.

The only area I really knew about in 1 was the area before the last boss fight, where you can equip the shield and keep busting up those catapillers for health and weapon energy and stuff. In 2, there was an area right at the end of Morph Moth's stage where you could grind those green bugs.

In 3, it feels like every second stage has a pretty safe energy farming method. Like right now, I'm at the start of some hangar stage - I think it's Gravity Beetle. And there's a ladder between two platforms, and on both platforms there are these two purple dudes who can aim their long snoots. It's a no brainer to switch from platform to platform, collecting energy.

In another stage, there's an area with those green cannons that fold down to ankle height if you get too close. You can zip back and forth between the two cannons pretty easily.

I dunno, maybe it's because I'm getting my ass kicked so thoroughly kicked in 3 that I'm looking for opportunities to fill my E-Tanks, but it feels like there's been a substantial increase in energy farming areas in 3 over 1 or 2.

Since you still have access to the select screen between Sigma stages a good grinding spot would be the first stretch in Armadillo. Just use charged Rolling Shield and go back and forth respawning the bats. Otherwise yes many will use the shield on the caterpillars in the final stage.

As for X2 there are hidden rooms where when you use a charged Silk Shot a whole bunch of energy pickups will appear. Crab's is in the wall as you descend after the sub hatch opens. Ostrich has one behind breakable blocks up on a ledge right before the long ramp.

and yes X3 is a much harder game in general. Everything hits like a truck. Grinding here can be more difficult. One method I found is to find an area full of enemies and use a charged Frost Shield. There's something about the weapon that yields more energy when destroying enemies. Then of course there's the Golden Armor which will fill your health as you stand still.
